Abstract

In this research, the researcher developed new innovation in natural sciences learning of elementary school by implementing augmented reality technology. The method that used in this research was research and development method based on Borg and Gall theory which consists of ten stages: 1) research and information collecting, 2) planning, 3) develop preliminary form of product, 4) preliminary field testing, 5) main product revision, 6) main field testing, 7) operational product revision, 8) operational field testing, 9) final product revision, 10) dissemination and implementation. The result of this research is learning media of natural sciences learning in elementary school by utilizing augmented reality technology. Based on the implementation of experiment, it is obtained the data that learning process using augmented reality which is developed can optimize the students’ learning result. DOI: doi.org/10.24071/ijiet.2019.030101

Abstract

Problem-based learning (PBL) has been reported as one of the learning models which can improve student learning outcomes optimally. Unfortunately, the frequency of implementing PBL and the teacher knowledge level about PBL is not optimal yet. This quantitative descriptive study aimed at determining the effect of PBL-based modules implementation on student learning outcomes. The population of this study was the XI grade students of SMAN 2 Wera in which the sample was the students of XI-Natural Science Class. Test was chosen as an instrument in the data collection process which was given at the beginning and the end of the implementation. The dependent-test was performed, after collecting the data. The study results indicated that the student learning outcomes increased significantly. Therefore, the application of PBL-based module is recommended to be carried out during science learning of XI graders.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pemilihan dan penggunaan media dalam pembelajaran IPA siswa tunarungu Kelas XI di Kabupaten Sukoharjo, Provinsi Jawa Tengah. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian deksriptif kualitatif. Sumber data penelitian adalah guru, siswa dan Kepala Sekolah. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket, wawancara, dokumentasi dan observasi. Lokasi penelitian di SLB Kabupaten Sukoharjo, yang meliputi SLB ABCD YSD Polokarto, SLB B-C Hamongputro Jombor, SLB B-C YPALB Langenharjo dan SLB ABC Tawangsari. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis melalui reduksi data, display data dan menarik kesimpulan. Kesimpulan disajikan dalam bentuk teks naratif berupa catatan lapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kurangnya ketersediaan media pembelajaran IPA di sekolah yang dapat guru pilih untuk mengajar IPA bagi anak tunarungu. Dalam penelitian ini juga menemukan minimnya frekuensi penggunaan media pembelajaran IPA yang tersedia selama pembelajaran IPA. Ditemukan juga guru-guru lebih banyak menggunakan media pembelajaran gambar dalam pembelajaran IPA di kelas.Kata kunci: pemilihan, penggunaan, media pembelajaran, IPA, anak tunarungu.ABSTRACTThis study aimed to describe the selection and use of media in science teaching deaf students of Class XI in Sukoharjo, Central Java Province. This study used a qualitative descriptive study. Subject of research data is a teacher, the students and the principal. The technique of collecting data using questionnaires, interviews, documentation and observation. SLB research sites in Sukoharjo district, which includes SLB ABCD YSD Polokarto, SLB B-C Hamongputro Jombor, SLB B-C YPALB Langenharjo and SLB ABC Tawangsari. The data were analyzed through data reduction, data display and draw conclusions. Conclusions are presented in the form of a narrative text form field notes. The results showed a lack of availability of media science teaching in schools can choose to teach science teacher of deaf children. In this study also found the lack of frequency of use of science learning media provided for learning science. It was also found more teachers use instructional media images in science learning in the classroom. Key words: selection, use, media, science, children with hearing impairment.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan instrumen penilaian testlet yang memiliki validitas, reliabilitas, tingkat kesukaran, daya pembeda dan indeks pengecoh yang memenuhi kriteria sebagai suatu soal yang baik juga untuk mengembangkan instrumen testlet pada materi elektrokimia, menjadi instrumen penilaian yang mampu mengukur kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi. Pengembangan instrumen penilaian dalam bentuk testlet ini menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan yang terdiri dari 10 tahap. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMK SMTI Yogyakarta, SMK SMAK Bogor, SMK SMAK Padang, dan SMK SMAK Makassar dengan jumlah responden siswa sebanyak 96 orang. Validasi instrumen penilaian testlet ini menggunakan metode Aiken dengan 7 orang validator ahli. Metode penilaian pada instrumen testlet ini menggunakan metode Graded Response Model (GRM). Hasil penelitian ini adalah instrumen penilaian testlet yang dikembangkan dinyatakan layak dan memenuhi kriteria sebagai suatu soal yang baik dengan validitas soal lebih dari 0,76 (valid) dan memiliki reliabilitas tes pada uji coba lapangan utama 0,889 yang tergolong tinggi, memiliki daya pembeda dengan presentase 30,56% cukup dan 38,88% baik dan 30,56 baik sekali . Instrumen penilaian testlet ini memiliki tingkat kesukaran dengan presentase 133,88% sukar; 63,89% sedang; 16,67% mudah; dan 5,56% sangat mudah. Instrumen penilaian testlet yang dikembangkan mampu mengukur kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa dengan persentase kemampuan siswa dalam menganalisis sebesar 61,15%; mengevaluasi 52,50%; mengkreasi 34,25%; berpikir kritis 42,50%; dan bernalar logis 37,25%.

Abstract

This study reports a quasi-experimental investigating the development of Science textbook based on Science Technology and Society for elementary school. The data collection was got from the achievement test (pretest-posttest). The population was all fourth-grade students of elementary schools in Gatak Subdistrict and the sample of the study was two schools as an experimental class and control class. The research sample was taken by random sampling technique. The results of this research showed that there was an improvement of student achievement before and after the implementation of science textbook based on Science Technology and Society. The result of the independent sample t-test shows that tobs is higher than table (5.489>1.681). The outcomes of the learning improvement in the experimental class based on the acquisition of N-Gain scores of 0.558. Based on tobs results, H0 is rejected. So it can be concluded that the development of a science textbook based on Science Technology Society in elementary school is appropriate to use for learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of implementing PBL integrated with STEM in the materials of temperature and its changes in creative thinking skills and learning outcomes. The research method was a quasi-experimental research design with non-equivalent pretest and posttest control group. Samples were selected by purposive sampling technique. Data collection instruments were creative thinking skills and knowledge tests. The analysis technique was a different test (t-test) to determine differences in the ability to think creatively and learning outcomes aspects of knowledge, and the N-gain test to determine the effectiveness of the learning method applied. The results of this study indicate that: (1) there were differences in learning outcomes and creative thinking abilities between the control and the experimental classes (2) the effectiveness test identified that the science learning using PBL integrated with STEM is quite effective in increasing the ability to think creatively.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan buku ajar IPA berbasis Sains Teknologi Masyarakat (STM) di sekolah dasar. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian dan pengembangan. Prosedur pengembangan meliputi dua tahap, yakni studi pendahuluan dan pengembangan prototipe. Subjek penelitian adalah lima orang guru dan 27 peserta didik kelas IV sekolah dasar untuk tahap ujicoba terbatas. Sampel untuk uji coba luas sebanyak 49 peserta didik dengan desain praeksperimental dan untuk uji efektivitas dengan desain quasi eksperimen sebanyak 43 peserta didik. Data kualitatif yang diperoleh dari hasil wawancara, observasi, dan kajian pustaka dianalisis dengan teknik interaktif model Miles dan Huberman untuk memperoleh deskripsi naratif. Data kuantitatif diperoleh dari tes belajar kognitif yang telah memenuhi kriteria validitas dan reliabilitas. Analisis data kuantitatif dilakukan dengan teknik paired dan independent t-test. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa prototipe buku ajar IPA berbasis STM untuk tema sumber daya alam yang dikembangkan sudah layak menurut tinjauan ahli dan direspons baik oleh guru dan peserta didik. Penggunaan bahan ajar IPA berbasis STM secara signifikan mempengaruhi prestasi belajar peserta didik. DEVELOPING SCIENCE TEXTBOOK BASED ON SCIENCE TECHNOLOGY SOCIETYThis study was aimed at developing a science textbook based on Science Technology Society (STM) for primary school. The method used was research and development (RD). The development procedure included two stages, namely a preliminary study and prototype development. The research subjects were 5 teachers and 27 students in grade IV elementary school for the limited trial phase. The samples for the broad trial were 49 students with a pre-experimental design and for effectiveness tests with a quasi-experimental design were 43 students. Qualitative data obtained from interviews, observations and literature reviews were analyzed using the interactive techniques proposed in the Miles Huberman model to obtain narrative descriptions. The quantitative data obtained from cognitive learning tests have met the criteria of validity and reliability. The quantitative data analysis was performed using paired techniques and independent t-tests. The results show that the developed prototype of the STM-based science textbook for the theme of natural resources is appropriate according to expert reviews and responded to both by teachers and students. The use of STM-based science teaching materials significantly influences students' learning achievement.

Abstract

Jati diri bangsa merupakan identitas yang dimiliki oleh suatu bangsa yang menjadi ciri khusus. Jati diri bangsa merupakan suatu kebanggaan bahkan menjadi daya tarik tersendiri yang harus tetap dijaga dan dilestarikan secara turun temurun pada generasi muda penerus bangsa. Jati diri bangsa akan terlihat dalam karakter bangsa yang merupakan perwujudan dari nilai-nilai luhur bangsa. Akan tetapi akhir-akhir ini kita mulai di khawatirkan dengan melemahnya jati diri bangsa dalam masyarakat salah satunya disebabkan oleh dampak negatif berkembangnya ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi yang menyebabkan degradasi moral pada masyarakat. Masyarakat cenderung individualis karena segala sesuatu dapat dilakukan dengan mudah dan tanpa bantuan orang lain yang pada akhirnya melunturkan nilai-nilai sosial yang selama ini berkembang dan berlaku di masyarakat seperti kekeluargaan, gotong royong, dan toleransi. Kearifan lokal sebagai pusaka budaya memiliki peranan penting sebagai inspirasi dalam penguatan jati diri atau identitas bangsa. Penguatan jati diri suatu bangsa menjadi sangat penting pada era globalisasi dengan tujuan agar tidak luntur atau tercabutnya akar budaya yang diwarisi dari para pendahulu ditengah-tengah kecenderungan homogenitas kebudayaan sebagai akibat dari globalisasi. Bangsa Indonesia mewarisi berbagai kekayaan alam, kekayaan hayati dan kekayaan keragaman sosiokultural. Kekayaan ini merupakan modal dasar yang harus di olah untuk kesejahteraan warga indonesia. Kearifan lokal merupakan modal budaya yang harus dikelola dan dikembangkan yang nantinya akan memperkuat identitas ke-indonesiaan. Penelitian ini dilakukan melalui metode kualitatif yang dilakukan pada saat perayaan Tradisi Tunggul Wulung dengan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi untuk melihat nilai-nilai yang terkandung dalam tradisi tersebut yang dapat memperkuat Jati Diri Bangsa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang dilakukan diperoleh hasil bahwa dalam Tradisi Tunggul Wulung banyak nilai-nilai sosial sebagai penguat jati diri bangsa, diantaranya adalah kekeluargaan, gotong royong, dan toleransi. Nilai-nilai tersebut terangkum dalam persiapan tradisi hingga pada saat perayaan Tradisi Tunggul Wulung.
