Abstract

Occupational safety in oil refineries is a critical concern due to the high-risk environment involving physical, chemical, mechanical, ergonomic, and psychosocial hazards. This study aims to analyze the impact of implementing the HIRARC method (Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control) on improving workplace safety in refinery operations. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed using secondary data from various previous studies. The hazard identification process revealed 56 potential hazards, which were classified and assessed based on risk levels using a risk matrix. Risks were categorized from low to extreme, with control efforts focused on high and extreme levels. Control strategies included elimination, substitution, engineering controls, administrative controls, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). The systematic application of HIRARC proved effective in reducing accident rates and strengthening safety culture. Furthermore, integrating the Lean Safety approach with HIRARC was found to significantly lower overall risk levels. These findings indicate that optimal HIRARC implementation can serve as a strategic solution to mitigate occupational accident risks in the oil and gas industry.

Abstract

Operational efficiency is one of the key indicators in determining the success of industrial companies amid increasing competition. One of the strategies that can be implemented to improve this efficiency is through systematic and integrated business process management. This study aims to examine the role of business process management in enhancing the operational efficiency of industrial companies. This research uses the literature review method by analyzing various national journal publications from the last five years relevant to the topic. The results show that implementing effective business process management helps companies reduce waste, shorten production time, and improve product quality. The utilization of information technology, particularly ERP systems, supports the integration of business processes, allowing for more effective decision-making. However, several challenges remain, including resistance to change and limitations in human resources. Therefore, the implementation of business process management requires appropriate strategies and active participation from all organizational elements to achieve the desired efficiency. Abstract

The manufacturing industry faces the challenges of increasingly dynamic and diverse market demands. Flexible Manufacturing System (FMS) is present as a solution by offering high flexibility in the production process. Through automation and digital integration, FMS is able to accelerate product changeover time and increase operational efficiency. This study uses a literature review method to analyze the benefits and challenges of FMS implementation. As a result, FMS has proven effective in increasing the efficiency and competitiveness of companies, although it requires large investments and human resource readiness. With the right strategy, FMS is the key to industrial adaptation to market changes.

Abstract

The construction sector is one of the industries with the highest risk of workplace accidents in Indonesia, contributing approximately 32% of the total national incidents. This study aims to analyze the effect of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) training on worker performance in the construction sector. A literature review method was employed by collecting seven national research articles published between 2019 and 2025 through the Google Scholar database. The findings indicate that OHS training has a significant and positive impact on enhancing the performance of construction workers. It not only improves technical knowledge and skills but also fosters a stronger safety-oriented attitude, increases workers' sense of responsibility, and reduces the risk of workplace accidents. Structured and consistent training helps create a safer and more efficient work environment, ultimately contributing to improved work effectiveness and the overall sustainability of construction projects. This study underscores the importance of implementing OHS training programs as a key strategy to improve worker performance in the construction industry.

Abstract

The manufacturing industry is one of the key sectors that plays an important role in a country's economy. In facing the challenges of globalization and technological advancement, human resource (HR) development through training and development becomes crucial. This study aims to analyze HR development strategies in the manufacturing sector and their impact on workforce competencies. The methodology used is literature review and secondary data analysis. The results show that well-planned training and development programs can improve workforce productivity and quality. In addition, companies need to implement strategies that focus on the specific needs of the industry and employees. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the importance of investing in training and development to enhance the competitiveness of the manufacturing industry.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat merupakan bagian penting dari Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi yang bertujuan untuk menghadirkan solusi nyata terhadap persoalan masyarakat. Kegiatan ini berfokus pada pengembangan inovasi teknologi tepat guna berupa Spiral Potato Slicer sebagai jawaban atas permasalahan rendahnya efisiensi dan kualitas produksi pada UMKM kuliner. Proses pemotongan kentang spiral secara manual membutuhkan waktu lama dan menghasilkan produk yang kurang konsisten, sehingga menurunkan daya saing UMKM. Kegiatan pengabdian dilaksanakan melalui metode difusi ipteks, pelatihan, dan pendidikan masyarakat yang melibatkan dosen, mahasiswa, serta mitra UMKM. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa Spiral Potato Slicer mampu memotong kentang spiral dalam waktu 5–10 detik per unit, meningkatkan efisiensi hingga 70% dibandingkan cara manual. Peserta pelatihan memperoleh keterampilan baru dalam perakitan, pengoperasian, dan perawatan alat, serta menunjukkan respon positif terhadap manfaat teknologi ini. Selain memberikan dampak teknis, kegiatan ini juga memperkuat jejaring internasional antara Universitas Islam Sumatera Utara dan Saengtham Wittaya Foundation School, Thailand, melalui pertukaran pengetahuan dan peluang riset kolaboratif. Secara keseluruhan, pengembangan Spiral Potato Slicer terbukti relevan untuk mendukung peningkatan daya saing UMKM kuliner sekaligus memperkuat jejaring kerja sama akademik internasional.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze fire emergency preparedness in Indonesian hospitals through a systematic review of previous studies. Using a systematic literature review method, this study identified and synthesized key findings from related studies. The results showed that fire emergency preparedness in hospitals in Indonesia still needs improvement, especially in terms of emergency response systems, human resource capacity, availability of facilities and infrastructure, and coordination with related parties. Efforts to improve preparedness need to be carried out comprehensively, involving collaboration between hospitals, government, fire department and the community.

Abstract

Hospital preparedness for fire response is essential for several critical reasons relating to safety, health and operations. The purpose of the literature review is to find what readiness is needed for hospitals to respond to fire emergencies. In this study, researchers conducted a literature review by examiningvarious journal articles relevant to the research objectives. The results of the literature that have been carried out regarding hospital readiness for fire emergency response are the preparation of fire emergency plans, training and simulations, maintenance of safety equipment, preparation of evacuation routes, budgets, and availability of emergency response teams. Hospital preparedness for fire is very important for the safety of patients, staff and visitors. Abstract

Kesehatan dan keselamatan di lingkungan kerja proyek pembangunan yang dilakukan oleh PT Indofood Sukses Makmur. Metode penelitian yang digunakan melibatkan survei lapangan, wawancara dengan pekerja, dan analisis dokumen terkait kebijakan kesehatan dan keselamatan kerja perusahaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa PT Indofood Sukses Makmur telah menerapkan sejumlah langkah untuk meningkatkan kesehatan dan keselamatan di lingkungan kerja proyek pembangunan, termasuk pelatihan keselamatan kerja, penggunaan alat pelindung diri, dan pengawasan ketat terhadap lingkungan kerja. Meskipun demikian, masih ditemukan beberapa area di mana perbaikan dapat dilakukan, seperti peningkatan kesadaran akan risiko tertentu dan peningkatan ketersediaan fasilitas kesehatan. Temuan ini memberikan wawasan yang berharga bagi perusahaan untuk terus meningkatkan program kesehatan dan keselamatan kerja mereka dalam proyek pembangunan di masa mendatang.

Abstract

Artikel ini akan melihat kejadian-kejadian tersebut dari perspektif kesiapsiagaan bencana dan manajemen risiko. Dalam konteks manajemen risiko, situasi darurat dan kesiapsiagaan sebuah kumpulan tindakan terorganisir, efektif, dan efisien yang dirancang untuk mengantisipasi bencana berhubungan erat. Pada laga Arema vs Persebaya di Kanjuruhan, Malang, Indonesia, terjadi kericuhan yang mengakibatkan ratusan korban luka maupun korban jiwa. Dunia disadarkan akan kejadian ini karena banyaknya jumlah kematian dan dugaan kesalahan yang dilakukan selama persiapan pertandingan yang mengabaikan urgensinya. 2019 (Mardiatno) Perpenelitian ini akan mengkaji faktor-faktor kesiapsiagaan darurat yang perlu dipertimbangkan ketika merencanakan turnamen yang menarik banyak penonton, seperti yang terjadi di Kanjuruhan. Salah satu komponen metodologi kualitatif yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis isi. Temuan studi tersebut menunjukkan bahwa sejumlah faktor kesiapan darurat perlu dipertimbangkan dengan cermat karena meningkatkan risiko tinggi pertandingan tersebut.
