Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tindakan preservasi preventif untuk melindungi koleksi yang dilakukan di Museum Geologi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif berdasarkan data hasil dari wawancara, observasi, dan studi pustaka. Hasil dari penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa telah dilakukan tindakan preservasi preventif seperti melalui pemantauan kebersihan koleksi, pengawasan pengaturan suhu, penanganan koleksi, serta perlindungan koleksi. Meski begitu dibutuhkan preservasi yang lebih intensif sehingga dapat mengurangi potensi adanya faktor penyebab kerusakan koleksi di Museum Geologi.

Abstract

Archives are important documents that function in administrative, legal, financial, organizational, historical, directive, and information functions in the realm of government. The importance of archives to be stored, preserved, and maintained is one of the reasons for writing this article. This paper describes the types of archives and the active preservation actions taken against conventional archives in the form of image sheet archives and photo archives carried out by the UPT Arsip (Record Center) Universitas Padjadjaran. This active preservation action is carried out as an effort to extend the life of archives or collections from archival institutions. The location of this research is at UPT Archives (Recording Center) Universitas Padjadjaran. This research was conducted by conducting direct observations at the UPT Archives (Record Center) Universitas Padjadjaran and conducting interviews. The research method was carried out using a qualitative descriptive method, namely by explaining the active preservation actions carried out by the UPT Archives (Recording Center) Universitas Padjadjaran. The actions taken by the UPT Arsip (Record Center) Universitas Padjadjaran are to maintain the temperature of the archives by coating the photos with tissue on each sheet and also cleaning the archives from dust. Files are also stored according to file type in roll o'packs, racks, or boxes to avoid damage to records due to dust. This article also discusses the lack of preservation efforts made by the UPT Archives (Record Center) Universitas Padjadjaran such as the amount of ventilation in the room which increases dust capacity.

Abstract

Preservation of library materials plays an important role in maintaining media and information that can be handed down to future generations and is necessary for long-term survival. The library as an institution that stores various information and knowledge, and the community, as information consumers, requires its existence, of course, expects that the library can store and share information and knowledge as needed. This is a challenge for library managers how information in the form of books, print or digital media can last a long time and not lose information or knowledge even though it has been a long time. Based on the above, the writer tries to write about the collection preservation action at the Goethe-Institut Bandung Library. The author employs a qualitative research methodology.Using a descriptive approach and gathering data techniques are carried out through the results of web analysis and literature studies. Besides that, the writer also uses interview, observation, and observation techniques, which are compiled to become a conclusion. The purpose of this study is to determine how far the preservation measures are carried out by the Goethe-Institut Bandung Library and what is being done in processing the library to ensure that the collection is safe from various factors. In relation to the issue of preservation interests, there are three terms that must be understood in terms of scope and differences in importance between the three, namely: preservation , conservation and restoration. Preservation is closely related to collection policy and dealing with preservation on a large scale is unlikely to be successful and can be developed without a clear statement of purpose. Existing collection policies will assist in determining preservation priorities that lead to the interests of the collection itself.

Abstract

Sunda dialect is a local dialect from West Java Province that has to preserve. One of the learning materials can be conveyed through storytelling. Roesdi djeung Misnem book is a classic Sunda book that contains Sunda tales. Pabukon Ngadongeng Community Book Corner provides service for this book to material storytelling. This research aims to know the Sunda storytelling book as cultural literature to children in Roesdi djeung Misnem book at Pabukon Ngadongeng Community Book Corner through analysis of story meaning, kind of storytelling, characterization reader, and storytelling as a learning language. The research method used a qualitative approach through a narrative literature review. Roesdi djeung Misnem book has 19 tales with 13 themes from the meaning story: prudence, working together, smartness, gratitude, stinginess, loving, self-measurement, arrogance, brave, trust, honesty, good attitude, and glorifying parents. This kind of storytelling consists of tales with animal and human characters. Animal tales total seven tales, and human figures tales total 12 tales. In characterization reader, Roesdi djeung Misnem book can be read to children over nine. Sunda tales in this book can train to learn the Sunda language. So, librarians or Managers of Community Book Corner can design Sunda dialect learning materials through storytelling as an activity for local dialect revitalization.

Abstract

Introduction Libraries with a variety of resources and information services can support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in society. This study describes the role of social inclusion-based TBM in Bandung Regency, West Java to support SDGs. Data collection methods. This study was qualitative with a descriptive approach. Data analysis was started with data reduction, data display and conclusion. Results and Discussion. TBM contributes to build a community-based literacy ecosystem based on the community characteristics and information needs in their environment. Literacy activities at TBM may improve individual or group skills and give impacts to the community's quality of life through collborations with multiple parties. TBM is a place for consultation regarding life problems in the community by providing access to information and knowledge to support the community's productivity and welfare. Conclusion and suggestions. The presence of community-based TBM supports poverty alleviation efforts. Literacy programs at TBM can help improve people's life skills by giving them more empowerment, training, and mentoring. These activities have an impact on improving individual abilities and skills. TBM becomes a bridge for public libraries as information service providers and a place to find information to overcome life's problems.

Abstract

Segala bentuk peninggalan manusia di masa lalu yang memiliki nilai sejarah harus dapat dilindungi dan dilestarikan dengan baik. Hal ini dilakukan agar dapat terus diingat dan menjadi pembelajaran di masa yang akan mendatang. Kegiatan yang dapat dilakukan yaitu melakukan tindakan preservasi maupun konservasi terhadap suatu objek yang memiliki nilai sejarah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu observasi secara langsung ke museum Geologi Bandung dan melakukan wawancara dengan petugas museum. Diperlukan pula studi literatur yang berisikan dukungan serta menjawab beberapa pertanyaan yang ada pada penelitian ini. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu terdapat beberapa koleksi tersedia di museum geologi yang digolongkan ke dalam Sejarah Kehidupan, Geologi Indonesia, dan Geologi untuk Kehidupan Manusia. Tindakan perlindungan koleksi yang dilakukan yaitu melakukan pembersihan seluruh koleksi secara berkala dan pengaturan suhu ruangan. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa tindakan preservasi merupakan hal yang sangat penting dilakukan untuk melindungi maupun melestarikan peninggalan sejarah. Dengan tujuan untuk dapat menjaga nilai yang terkandung di dalam koleksi.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan kegiatan preservasi dan konservasi bahan pustaka di Perpustakaan Fakultas Ilmu Komunikasi Universitas Padjadjaran dan kendala yang dihadapi dalam menyelenggarakan kegiatan tersebut. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data yang berasal dari informan yang dikumpulkan melalui proses observasi, wawancara serta dokumentasi dan analisis melalui tahap reduksi, penyajian, dan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Perpustakaan Fakultas Ilmu Komunikasi Unpad melakukan kegiatan preservasi dan konservasi terhadap fisik bahan pustaka dengan pengoptimalan kebersihan lingkungan, suhu, cahaya, penyimpanan, penjilidan dan laminasi. Sedangkan untuk kebutuhan bahan kebutuhan koordinasi koordinasi kebijakan lebih lanjut.

Abstract

Preservation is a series of activities that include maintenance, care, preservation, and prevention of collection materials. The essence of the existence of preservation activities is to ensure that the information content is in a good condition to be used or accessed in an unspecified time. The purpose of this study is to determine the preservation activities carried out on collection materials at the IKOPIN University Library. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach. The data collection techniques used in this research are interviews, observation, and literature study. Interviews were conducted with 2 resource persons, namely the Head of the IKOPIN University Library and the user. Interviews and observations were carried out directly. The data analysis carried out is the data analysis model by Miles and Huberman which consists of 3 stages: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions and verification. The results of the study show that the IKOPIN Library has carried out a series of preservation activities. The activities carried out were packaging books with plastic covers, bookbinding, cleaning book collections, transfer of collection materials, environmental control, temperature regulation, lighting regulation, hygiene monitoring, and awareness training on preservation activities. In the research conducted, it was also found that the factors causing damage to collections in the IKOPIN library were the main factors, namely book characteristics and human factors. The conclusion from the research is that the IKOPIN library has an awareness of the importance of preservation activities, therefore the IKOPIN library has carried out preservation activities both actively, passively, and preventively. The preservation implementation found 2 obstacles, namely in the field of HR (Human Resources) and the field of funding.

Abstract

Preservasi bahan pustaka merupakan kegiatan penting di perpustakaan.Tanpa preservasi, koleksi bahan pustaka menjadikurang terawat dan jika dibiarkan akan rusak. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui layanan preservasi yang dilakukan Perpustakaan Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Padjadjaran.Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian diskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik wawancara, observasi dan studi literatur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Perpustakaan Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Padjadjaran belum menerapkan sistem preservasi secara menyeluruh, akan tetapi sudah melakukan perbaikan-perbaikan sederhana. Preservasi, konservasi, dan restorasi bahan pustaka sangat dibutuhkan perpustakaan. Perlu peran pustakawan dalam melaksanakan dan mengedukasi pemustaka. Tanpa adanya preservasi, konservasi, dan restorasi, koleksi bahan pustaka di perpustakaan lambat laun akan mengalami kerusakan dan menjadi tidak layak digunakan lagi. Evaluation of Collection Preservation in the Library of the Faculty of Animal Science, Padjadjaran University. Preservation of library materials is an important activity in libraries. Without preservation, the collection of library materials becomes poorly maintained, and if left unchecked, it will be damaged. This study aimed to determine the preservation services the Library of the Faculty of Animal Science, Padjadjaran University, carried out. This research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The data collection method uses interviews, observation, and literature study techniques. The results showed that the Library of the Faculty of Animal Science, Padjadjaran University, has not implemented a comprehensive preservation system but has made simple improvements. Libraries need preservation, conservation, and restoration of library materials. It requires the role of librarians in implementing and educating users. Without preservation, protection, and repair, the collection of library materials in the library will gradually suffer damage and become unfit for use again.

Abstract

Local knowledge of an area doesn't exist without reason; it has an accompanying purpose and philosophy. There are certainly goals and philosophies behind the local knowledge that the Tatar Karang community of Tasikmalaya District holds. This research aims to understand the local knowledge of the coastal forests of the Tatar Karang community. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with methods of observation, in-depth interviews, and literature studies. It is organized based on the cultural inventory structure of Kemendikbud 2016 and the SECI Model. Informants in this research include traditional elders, customary stakeholders, village heads, cultural figures, religious figures, community leaders, youth leaders, and leaders of traditional families. The results of the study indicate that: 1) Historically, the coastal forest is a heritage of the customary system that existed long before 1861 and was implemented as a legal system in place at the time; 2) Conceptually, the coastal forest serves as a protective measure for residents from various natural disaster threats originating from the direction of the ocean; 3) Factually, the condition of the coastal forest is quite concerning due to land use conversion policies, resulting in much of its area being damaged; and 4) Strategies for preserving the coastal forest can be done through: 1) the SECI Model analysis, which includes socialization, externalization, combination, and internalization. This ensures that stakeholders, traditional internal parties, can supervise objectively; 2) maximizing the cultural approach through developing three traditions: hajat lembur, marak, and rarangkén huma; and 3) a popular method using new media. In conclusion, preserving this intangible cultural heritage is vital and, at the very least, should be done through inventory. Thus, this tacit knowledge heritage can be documented.
