Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to find out whether the storybook or the Kancil fairy tale influences the imitating behavior of the Sunggal 41 ABA 41 Kindergarten students and sees how storytellers are very influential in conveying the message content of a story. This research method uses descriptive, which is taking a problem or focusing on actual problems as they were at the time the research was conducted. The description in this study was to see the imitating behavior of the Sunggal 41 ABA Kindergarten students. The results of the study found that fairy tales or stories of the Kancil can enrich knowledge by recognizing various types of animals that are used as characters in a story or fairy tale or in increasing children's understanding of good and bad things. Children who tend to not be able to focus on one thing / object in a certain period of time are challenges and homework that the teacher must overcome when telling stories / storytelling. Short time and schedule of storytelling / storytelling activities obtained at school are not enough to-create-imitating-behaviors-of-children.

Abstract

The title of this research is Public Stigma of Negative Communication on ODHA Patients (people with HIV and AIDS) Yayasan Medan Plus in Medan (a qualitative descriptive study of the impact of public stigma of negative communication for ODHA patients, Yayasan Medan Plus in Medan). The theory used in this research is the theory of Josep A Devito, the theory of stigma by Erving Goffmen, the theory of beliefs, values and attitudes. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. The informants in this study were 11 people, of which 6 were ODHA patients, 9 people with HIV and AIDS and 5 people are the citizens of Medan. Data collection techniques are in-depth interviews, observation, literature study and documentation. The results of this study are the communication stigma given by the community to ODHA patients (people with HIV and AIDS). The effect of continuous communication given by the people of the city of Medan to patients living with HIV (people with HIV and AIDS) at the Yayasan Medan Plus in the city of Medan.

Abstract

The title of this research in the Motives and Satisfaction of Using Instagram Social Media for Students of the Faculty of Law, University of Medan Area. As the purpose of thus study is to test how much motivation and satisfaction in the use of social media Instagram on the use of student. The method used is to use a quantitative descriptive research methodology. Withdrawal of samples using the chi-square correlation test to determine the relationship or influence of two nominal variables and to measure the strength of the relationship or influence between motive and satisfaction. Based on the results of the research conducted, it was found that the influence of the information motive on the satisfaction of using Instagram social media on students of the Faculty of Law, Medan Area University showed a p value of 0.002 that there was an influence between information motives and satisfaction using Instagram, then personal identity motives and satisfaction using social media Instagram showed p value 0.015 that there is an influence between the motive of personal identity and the satisfaction of using Instagram, then the motive of integrity and social interaction with the satisfaction of using social media Instagram shows a p value of 0.005 that there is an influence between the motive of integrity and social interaction with the satisfaction of using Instagram, and test results Chi-square on entertainment motives with satisfaction in using social media Instagram shows a p value of 0.000 that there is an influence between entertainment motives and satisfaction in using Instagram. The value of the relationship between entertainment motives and the satisfaction of using Instagram is 0,000, which means that the influence of entertainment motives and the decision to use Instagram is significant, the chi-square test results show that the satisfaction of using Instagram social media on entertainment motives is 73%.

Abstract

This quantitative research aimed to determine the relationship between self-efficacy and lecturer’s assertive behavior with foreign language anxiety experienced by university student. The population in this study was the students of the Department of English Education, State Institute for Islamic Studies Langsa. The samples were selected by using Stratified Random Sampling technique and sorted 147 students in semester 2, 4, and 6 that spread proportionally. The data were collected by using Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale (FLCAS), self-efficacy scale, and lecturer’s assertive behavior scale. The data, then, were analyzed by multivariate linear regression. The result showed that self-efficacy and lecturer’s assertive behavior significantly contributed to foreign language anxiety. The effective contribution of self-efficacy and lecturer’s assertive behavior to foreign language anxiety was 58,4%.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the relationship of Self-Concept and Interpersonal Communication with Learning Motivation in State Junior High School Students 2 Tanjung Tiram Bara Regency, with a population of 167 students. The research sample numbered 33 students. The method used in this study is a quantitative method with sampling techniques using the Stratified Random Sampling Proportional Technique. Abstract is written briefly and factually, covering research objectives, research methods, results and conclusions. Abstracts are written in one paragraph; written in two languages (Indonesian and English); abstract lengths ranging from 150 - 200 words. Avoid referrals and unusual abbreviations. Cambria 10, with one line spacing (1) spacing. In Indonesian. The instrument used is the Likert Scale model. Data collection techniques use three scales consisting of the Self-Concept Scale, Interpersonal Communication and Learning Motivation. The analysis technique used is multiple regression. Based on the results of the study concluded that: 1) Self-concept is positively related to student learning motivation indicated by a correlation coefficient of R = 0.768. Where the contribution of variable X1 to variable Y amounted to R2 = 58.9%. 2) Interpersonal communication is positively related to student learning motivation indicated by a correlation coefficient of R = 0.584. Where the contribution of variable X2 to Y amounted to R2 = 34.1%. 3) Self-Concept and Interpersonal Communication together have a relationship to learning motivation of R = 0.783. Where the variable contribution of X1 and X2 to Y amounted to R2 = 61.3%. From these results it can be said that the higher the Self-Concept and Interpersonal Communication, the higher the motivation to learn, and vice versa the lower the Self-Concept and Interpersonal Communication, the lower the student's Learning Motivation

Abstract

The article aims to find out that tourism management in Batu Bara Regency needs serious attention from the local government, considering that the potential of natural resources in Batu Bara Regency is also not comparable to the abundant natural wealth potential of other regions in North Sumatra. This qualitative approach is used to find and understand what is hidden behind phenomena which are sometimes difficult to know or understand, this approach is also expected to be able to provide a complete and detailed explanation of the phenomena that are the focus of the author's research. The results of the study show that the policies provided by PIM III Alumni in terms of communication are that after the Diklatpim, PIM III Alumni are able to carry out policies in terms of communication, namely forming new innovations in the form of a Tourism Awareness Group Program for the community according to tourism locations in the Batu Bara Regency. The task of the Tourism Awareness Group is to introduce the wider community to the tourism sector so that tourism is able to compete with other tourism in North Sumatra.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of computer self-efficacy, perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use on the use of SIMRS by nurses at RSU. Haji Medan. This study uses a quantitative research design with data collection techniques using the questionnaire method. The sampling technique used probability sampling type Cluster Sampling as many as 60 samples of nurses from a total population of 204 nurses in inpatient, outpatient and emergency department installations. The data analysis technique used in this study uses multiple regression analysis, t test to determine the effect between variables partially, and F test to determine the effect between variables simultaneously. The study was conducted from April to June 2021 with the results of the study finding that the computer self-efficacy variable did not partially affect the use of SIMRS. The purpose of using SIMRS to realize integrated documentation will not be achieved if the system has not been fully adopted by other Health Human Resources even though nurses are confident in their ability to use the system. Meanwhile, the variables perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use have a positive effect on the utilization of SIMRS by nurses in completing their tasks.

Abstract

Effective Communication Skills or known as public speaking skills or public speaking are skills that aim to inform messages, persuade or persuade, and entertain the audience at this time become one of the requirements that must be possessed by people in charge of providing services to others This community service is to increase the knowledge and readiness of the members and administrators of the Medan City PKK Mobilization Team to be reliable in carrying out public speaking activities and to increase understanding of communication ethics for the Medan City PKK Mobilizing Team reliable in carrying out public activities speaking / speaking in public. Thus, the quality of the management and members of the PKK team in Medan City in carrying out communication activities to the community can be carried out in a good, ethical and professional manner. There are many benefits that can be obtained by improving Effective Communication and Public Speaking skills, including; increase credibility, improve leadership skills, make it easier to convey ideas and ideas, reach extensive networking and can increase self-capacity in career and when dealing with other people on duty.

Abstract

The basic idea of symbolic interaction theory states that the emblem or symbol of culture are learned through interaction, people give meaning to everything that will control their attitudes and behavior. To understand the interaction of symbolic (symbolic interactionism) is a way of thinking about the mind (mind), self (self) and society (society).By using sociology as a foundation, as well as teaching that when human interact with each other, they share the meaning for a certain period and for a specific action. George Herbert Mead is a figure who is seen as symbolic interaction builders understand this. He taught that the meaning comes as a result of interaction between people, both verbally and nonverbally. Through the actions and responses that occur, we give meaning to the words or actions, and therefore we can also understand an even in certain ways too, because people are assumed to a rise from interrelated conversations between individuals.

Abstract

The research wants to observe public opinion about women who work in hotel affairs. The problem about working in hotel is the working hour, sometimes in day time, but also night time. The condition make negative perception about working women in hotel affairs. This is descriptive analysis research. The result shows that most people have positive response about working women in hotel affairs because it increase family income.
