Abstract

ABSTRACT This research was conducted in June 2018. This study aims to identify the types of fisheries and non-fisheries business work carried out by fishermen household members, analyzing the contribution of fisheries and non-fisheries business income to fishermen households. The method carried out in this study is a survey method, namely by conducting observations and direct reviews and collecting samples taken 10% of the total population with simple sampling random sampling. The results of this study indicate that the types of activities carried out by members of fishing households in fisheries and non-fisheries businesses.      The types of fisheries and non-fisheries business carried out by fisherman household members in Bagan Deli Village, Medan Belawan Sub-District, Medan City, North Sumatra Province are in fisheries businesses, such as factories, maintaining ships, selling fish, drying salted fish, repairing nets, boat men , while the work carried out by fishermen from non-fisheries businesses is like Building Workers, Coffee Shops, Ojek, Security Guards, Trading, Keep Cellphones, Maintain Shops, Take Care of Pharmacies, Car Drivers, Sell Gasoline, Public Transportation Drivers, Building Workers and Elementary Workers. The average income of a fishery business is IDR. 2,785,400 with contributions as much as (56%), and the average income from non-fishery businesses is IDR. 2,221,667  with a contribution of (44%).Keywords: Contributions, non-fisheries, income of fishermen house holds

Abstract

ABSTRACTPandan Beach is one of the tourist attractions in Central Tapanuli Regency that is interesting to visit. Pantai Pandan is located in Pandan Sub-District, Pandan District, Central Tapanuli Regency. The existence of Pandan Beach has a positive impact on the coastal communities of Pandan. The existence of this tourist attraction will indirectly affect the surrounding population of economic growth, because these tourist attractions will open employment opportunities for people around the tourist attractions so that it can be said that Pandan Beach tourism object has a role for the surrounding community.The purpose of this study was to determine the contribution of Pandan Beach tourism objects to the income of coastal communities in Pandan.This research was conducted in March 2019 at Pandan Beach.This research was conducted by survey method. The data taken is primary and secondary data. Primary dataobtained through questionnaires while secondary data is in the form of data from related institutions. The analysis was carried out in a qualitative and quantitative descriptive way through the presentation of tables. The results of the analysis showed that the existence of Pantai Pandan Tourism object has a positive impact on the surrounding community where the contribution of tourism objects to community income reaches 30%.Keywords: Role, Pandan Beach, income

Abstract

Abstract Research on the economic value of Lake Naga Sakti tourism in Siak regency. It has been implemented in February 2018. The objective of the research is to know the perception of the people and visitors as well as the economic value of Lake Naga Sakti. method used to calculate economic value using contingent valuation mathod (CVM)     Public perceptions on the environmental attractions of Lake Naga Sakti is 65% which states good and 56% of visitors stated good. While 75% of public respondents stated comfortable and 74% of respondents stated comfortable visitors. The average value of PAP visitors of tourist attraction is Idr.107.955.325 / year while the respondent value is Idr25.920.000/ year. The result of economic value at Lake Naga Sakti around the tourism object is the total of the value of the community and visitors of Idr133.875.325/ year. Judging from the revenue of this tour is feasible to be developed. Keyword: Economic Value, CVM Approach, Lake Dragon Based

Abstract

ABSTRACT        The research on the Purse Seine fishing gear business was conducted on May 25 to June 8, 2018 at Belawan Ocean Fisheries Port (PPS), Medan City, North Sumatra Province. The purpose of this study is to find out how much investment, business feasibility, and sensitivity analysis of the Purse Seine fishing gear business are mini-sized 30 GT, medium 50 GT and 88  large. The number of respondents taken as many as 15 people where each size of the boat was taken by five people, one owner, one captain and three crew members               Based on the results of the study, it was found that the total investment business of the Purse Seine fishing gear was 30 GT in the amount of IDR. 1,030,276,000 and the Purse seine was 50 GT in the amount of IDR. 1,382,105,000, while the Purse Purse in large was 88 GT in the amount of IDR. 1,888. 635,000. NPV value of ship 30 GT is IDR.1,187,774,957, BCR of 1.23 and IRR of 40.95% of NPV value of medium-sized vessel is 50 GT of IDR.1,821,572,870, BCR of 1.25 and IRR of 46.39% while the NPV value of a large ship is 88 GT at IDR.2,607,345,034, BCR of 1.31 and IRR of 48.09%. Thus the business is profitable and feasible to develop. From the results of the sensitivity analysis calculations carried out for 10 years of business in scenario 3, costs are increased by 10% and production is reduced by 10% BCR = 1 means that the 30 GT ships only break even, that is not for and no loss.   Keywords:Purse Seine 30 GT Purse Seine 50 GT, Purse Seine 88 GT, BusinessFeasibility.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the types of alternative livelihoods carried out by fishermen and analyze the contribution of alternative livelihoods to the total income of fishermen in Bagan Hulu Village. The method used in this study was a survey method. The population in this study was 28 fishermen who have alternative livelihoods, and respondents were taken from the entire population carried out by census. The data collected is primary and secondary data through direct interviews, questionnaires then analyzed descriptively. The types of alternative livelihoods carried out by fishermen in Bagan Hulu Village, Bangko District, Rokan Hilir Regency were blood cockle aquaculture (Anadara granosa), motorcycle repair shops, shrimp paste makers, farmers, laborers/artisans, salted fish managers, and pond security. Alternative work carried out by fisherman households in the fishery and non-fishery sectors contributed enough to the total income, i.e., the primary income of fishermen was 49.33 while alternative work was 50.67%. Nevertheless, there was a need for socialization and training on salted fish processing or other skill from relevant agencies and NGOs that could be used as references for alternative jobs by fishermen during lousy weather.

Abstract

Mangrove ecosystem is a very important resource for the continuity of community life in coastal areas. Mangrove ecosystem in the coastal area of downstream Rokan district has decreased mangrove area because it is used as a pond area to reduce the production of mangrove litter as an ecological function that can be a carrying capacity of coastal capture fisheries. However, the use of coastal areas as pond areas provides economic benefits for aquaculture. This study aims to calculate the economic value of the Rokan Hilir Coastal mangrove ecosystem. This research was conducted in March-April 2019 in the survey method. Analysis to calculate the total economic value of the mangrove ecosystem is NET=ML+MTL+MP. The results showed the total economic benefit value of Rokan Hilir mangrove forest reached IDR 98.697.950.594 / year was a direct benefit value of IDR 701,425,106 / year, indirect benefits were obtained at IDR 94,606,056,000 / year, and the optional benefits reached IDR 3,512,126,520 / year. Mangrove ecosystems are ecosystems that provide many benefits to the Rokan Hilir Coastal community, so this ecosystem is highly expected to be sustainable.

Abstract

Coastal ecosystems on small islands have a large enough pressure to be inversely proportional to a large island due to various resource capabilities and limited supporting factors. Mangrove is one of the ecosystems on the coast of a small island that is susceptible to disturbance because it is close to human activities. This study aimed to determine the mangrove ecosystem management strategy on the coast of the Siak Regency. The research was conducted from July to August 2020 using survey and interview methods. Data analysis used the Analytical Hierarchy Process to determine the mangrove management strategy. The results showed that community involvement is a priority for managing sustainable mangrove ecosystems with the assistance of the Government and NGOs. Management priority factors, namely ecology, while still paying attention to economic, social, institutional, and technological concerns.

Abstract

This research was conducted at Pondok Gurih Restaurant, Pekanbaru which aims to calculate the value of the willingness to pay of consumers and to analyze the factors that affect the willingness to pay of consumers for the purchase of catfish spicy acid. This research can be used as information material for the restaurant to improve the quality and facilities for consumer demand. The research method used is a survey method that used primary data and secondary data. The data collection techniques through interviews. The sample in this study are consumers who eat at the restaurant and are willing to be interviewed. The number of respondents used in this study was 100 people. The data analysis method used in this research is logistic regression. The results showed that the average cost to be paid by consumers was IDR 87,410 with the lowest WTP value of IDR 40,000 and the highest was IDR 150,000. Then the variables that significantly affect the consumer's desire to pay are age, income, education, and product quality. The variables that did not have a significant effect were gender, service quality, and occupation. Suggestions for businesses are to continue to improve product quality.

Abstract

The degradation of mangrove ecosystems in Bengkalis Regency is caused either one by mangrove ecosystems management that are still not optimal. The research of institutional analysis of mangrove ecosystem management in Kelapa Pati Village was conducted in November 2019 in the mangrove ecosystem of Kelapa Pati Village, Bengkalis District, Bengkalis Regency. The assessing of institutional  role about mangrove ecosystems management in Kelapa Pati Village was carried out based on in-depth interviews with informants in the form of selected stakeholders. Institutional analysis of mangrove ecosystems shows that the mangrove ecosystem institutions in Kelapa Pati Village are grouped into: Key players (Managers, Village Heads, Regents, Dinas Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan Provinsi, Dinas Lingkungan Hidup Kabupaten), context setters (DPRD), crowds (Dinas PU , BAPPEDA, Dinas Perikanan, NGO, and University); and subjects (community and community leaders).

Abstract

Kecamatan Mandah, Kabupaten Indragiri Hilir merupakan daerah yang mempunyai sumber daya alam cukup melimpah namun memiliki masalah pada kerusakan lingkungan dan degradasi sumber daya alam. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji atau melihat kondisi aset penghidupan masyarakat nelayan dan menentukan status dari aset penghidupan nelayan tersebut. Data yang digunakan adalah data primer dan sekunder berdasarkan teknik wawancara dan pengamatan secara langsung. Analisis data menggunakan pendekatan penghidupan berkelanjutan dengan indikator sumber daya manusia, keuangan, alam dan sosial. Kesejahteraan nelayan secara menyeluruh dilihat dari perhitungan status aset penghidupan berdasarkan pendekatan kehidupan berkelanjutan. Hasil penelitian menyebutkan bahwa indeks penghidupan nelayan pada kategori sedang 50,6; aset keuangan pada kategori sedang 18,3; aset alam dengan kategori kurang baik 3,96; aset sosial pada kategori sedang 16; aset sumber daya manusia kategori baik 12,35 dan fisik 28 dengan kategori sedang. Dengan demikian penghidupan yang ada di Desa Igal cukup baik untuk menopang kesejahteraan nelayan dilihat dari aset-aset yang masih menjanjikan. Tittle: Livelihood Assets Status of Igal Village Communities, Mandah Sub Regency, Indragiri Hilir RegencyMandah Sub-regency of Indragiri Hilir has abundant natural resources in spite of its environmental damage and natural resource degradation. This study aims to examine the condition of livelihood assets of fishing communities and determine the status of livelihood assets of these fishers. The study used primary and secondary data from interview and direct observation. Data were analyzed with sustainable livelihoods approach with several indicators of human, financial, natural and social resources. The fishers’ welfare thoroughly measured from the calculation of the status of livelihood assets based on sustainable livelihood approach. The results of the study indicate that the fisher’s livelihood index are in medium category of 50,6, financial asset are in medium category of 18,3, natural assets are in bad category of 3,96, social assets are in medium category of 16, human resource assets are in good category of 12,35 and physical 28 is in medium category.Therefore, the livelihood in Igal Village are fairly well to support the fisher’s welfare from the promising assets.
