Abstract

This study aims to describe students as the main targets for radicalism, the implications of exposure to radicalism to students for national security, as well as strategies to deal with radicalism in higher education. This study uses a qualitative approach and a literature study research method. The data collection technique used is a documentation study. The data obtained were analyzed using heurmanic techniques. The results of the study show that students are the main target for radical groups because they have idealism, are critical, innovative, have a fighting spirit, and are easily influenced by new things. Exposure to radicalism in students has implications for weakening national security in Indonesia which affects several aspects of people's lives, namely ideology, politics, economics, socio-cultural life, and defence and security. Pancasila Education Course and Citizenship Education as a vehicle for deradicalization which is a strategy for tackling radicalism in tertiary institutions.

Abstract

The reading index in Indonesia is still relatively low, so many students become victims of fake news that develops on social media. In addition, students have not been able to utilize digital technology and digital literacy optimally, which has implications for weak knowledge related to civic literacy. The research designs used are literature reviews and qualitative research types. The research method is literature, while the data collection technique uses document studies, and the data analysis used is content analysis. Civic literacy has an important role in facing the era of society 5.0, with the ability to greatly help students participate in realizing harmony in the lives of the nation and state. Society 5.0 has a tough challenge for higher education if each lecturer does not equip students with civic literacy skills. The strategy of strengthening civic literacy through digital literacy can be done effectively by implementing varied learning methods and using digital-based learning media. Through this, students will be interested in learning, considering that they are a digital native generation who cannot be separated from digital technology. Increasing civic literacy is very effective by utilizing digital literacy so that every student can adapt to the times, especially in the era of society 5.0.

Abstract

Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan etnoparenting, yang deskripsinya penulis ambil dari kasus-kasud pola asuh yang penulis temukan pada masyarakat muslim-Melayu Desa Nanga Betung Kabupaten Kabupaten Kapuas Hulu. Etnoparenting merupakan aktivitas parenting yang polanya dilandaskan pada kearifan lokal yang berkembang di daerah tersebut. Secara metodologi, tulisan ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif, yang data-datanya dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipan dan dokumentasi. Sementara analisis datanya, menggunakan model analisis data interaktif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian bisa disimpulkan bahwa etnoparenting pada masyarakat muslim-Melayu di Desa Nanga Betung Kabupaten Kapuas Hulu sangat unik. Di desa ini pola asuh yang diterapkan orang tua pada anak usia dini mereka diterapkan secara bervariasi. Ada orang tua yang memberikan pola asuh secara demokratis, dan ada pula yang otoriter dan permisif. Dampak yang ditimbulkan dari pola asuh otoriter terhadap perkembangan emosional anak usia dini adalah anak menjadi penakut dan merasa terkekang. Sedangkan pola asuh permisif dapat membuat anak jadi profil yang kurang menghargai dan meremehkan nilai-nilai budaya sosial Desa. Sementara pola asuh demokratis yang diterapkan sebagian kecil orang tua membantu meningkatkan perkembangan emosional positif dan keterampilan sosial anak, terutama dalam sosial budaya. Hasil penelitian kami juga menunjukkan bahwa yang lebih dominan dari kesemua pola asuh yang dicirikan masyarakat muslim-Melayu di desa ini meskipun sama-sama berbasis etnoparenting umumnya adalah pola asuh otoriter. This paper aims to describe ethnoparenting, whose description the author takes from the cases of parenting styles that the author found in the Muslim-Malay community of Nanga Betung Village, Kapuas Hulu Regency. Ethnoparenting is a parenting activity whose pattern is based on local wisdom that develops in the area. Methodologically, this paper uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, whose data is collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation. While analyzing the data using an interactive data analysis model. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that ethnoparenting in the Malay-Muslim community in Nanga Betung Village, Kapuas Hulu Regency, is very unique. In this village, the parenting style applied by parents in their early childhood is applied in various ways. Some parents provide democratic parenting, and some are authoritarian and permissive. The impact of authoritarian parenting on the emotional development of early childhood is that children become timid and feel constrained. Meanwhile, permissive parenting can make children become profiles that lack respect and underestimate the social and cultural values of the village. While democratic parenting applied by a small number of parents helps improve the positive emotional development and social skills of children, especially in socio-cultural contexts, our results also show that the dominant of all parenting styles characterized by the Muslim-Malay community in this village, although both are ethnoparenting-based, is generally authoritarian parenting.

Abstract

Ruwahan merupakan salah satu tradisi masyarakat muslim Jawa, Madura, Melayu, Bugis di Pontianak. Artikel ini mengkaji lebih dalam bentuk pelaksanaan tradisi Ruwahan di Kota Pontianak dan berbagai macam variablenya, mencakup aspek sosial, budaya, dan ekonomi serta melihat relevansinya dengan ajaran Islam. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pengumpulan data dilakukan langsung pada informan. Data primer diperoleh melalui observasi di beberapa lokasi pelaksanaan tradisi Ruwahan meliputi masjid, mushalla, madrasah diniyah dan area pemakaman. Sedangkan wawancara diperoleh melalui informan meliputi tokoh agama, tokoh adat dan pedagang di 3 pasar. Data sekunder diperoleh melalui studi pustaka seperi buku, jurnal, dan penelitian yang relevan dengan objek penelitian. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan mengungkapkan; pertama, Ruwahan di Pontianak tidak dapat dilepaskan dari peran masyarakat muslim dan telah menjadi tradisi bagi masyarakat setempat. Kedua, tradisi Ruwahan memiliki pengaruh positif terhadap peningkatan ekonomi bagi masyarakat Kota Pontianak. Ketiga, tradisi Ruwahan yang dilaksanakan di Pontianak tidak bertentangan dengan ajaran Islam, oleh karena tidak terdapat unsur-unsur yang bertentangan dengan ajaran Islam, dalam hal keyakinan, praktik ziarah kubur, sedekah Ruwahan dan praktik-praktik yang terdapat dalam tradisi Ruwahan. Penelitian ini dapat menjadi acuan dalam menguatkan eksistensi tradisi Ruwahan di tengah-tengah masyarakat terutama yang berkaitan dengan isu bid’ah dan syirik dalam praktik Ruwahan yang kerap kali di tuduhkan oleh kelompok intoleran.

Abstract

Kajian ini memiliki tujuan 1) untuk mengetahui hubungan agama Islam dengan politik 2) mengetahui fenomena politisasi agama Islam di pemilihan umum di Indonesia di masa era orde lama, orde baru, pasca reformasi, dan 3) untuk mengetahuiimplikasinya politisasi agama Islam terhadap kehidupan beragama di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode penelitian kepustakaan, teknik pengumpulan data yaitu menggunakan studi dokumen yang terkait politisasi agama Islam di dalam pemilihan umum di Indonesia dan kerukunan antar serta intern agama, analisis data yang digunakan ialah analisis data deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan politisasi agama Islam selalu mewarnai di setiap penyelenggaraan pemilihan umum di Indonesia, dari era orde lama hingga pemilihan umum tahun 2019. Aktor politik selalu memanfaatkan agama Islam untuk memenangkan kontestasi di dalam pemilihan umum tanpa memperhatikan dampak yang ditimbulkan di tengah masyarakat. Politisasi agama Islam tersebut menimbulkan polarisasi di tengah masyarakat, tidak hanya ketika pra atau ketiak diselneggerakan pemilihan umum saja, melainkan berlanjut pada pasca pemilihan umum sehingga hal tersebut menimbulkan disintegrasi nasional.This study aims 1) to determine the relationship between Islam and politics, 2) to know the phenomenon of politicization of Islam in general elections in Indonesia during the old, new, and post-reform era, and 3) to find out the implications of the politicization of Islam on religious life in Indonesia. This research uses a qualitative approach with literature research methods and data collection techniques using document studies related to the politicization of Islam in general elections in Indonesia and inter- and inter-religious harmony. The data analysis used is descriptive. The results show that the politicization of Islam has always coloured every general election in Indonesia, from the old order era to the 2019 general election. Political actors always use Islam to win contests in elections without paying attention to the impact on society. The politicization of Islam caused polarization in society, not only when the pre-election movement was interrupted by the general election movement but continued after the general election so that it caused national disintegration

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out (1) strategies for overcoming political polarization that occurs in Surakarta City after the 2024 Elections, (2) obstacles in overcoming political polarization in the people of Surakarta City after the 2024 Elections, and (3) its implications for regional resilience in Surakarta City. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive research method, data collection techniques using in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, and the data analysis used is interactive. The object of this research is related to the polarization of society after the election and regional resilience in the city of Surakarta. The results of the study show that the harmonization of political polarization carried out by the Surakarta city government in collaboration with all levels of society through dialogue activities, socialization, regular meetings of the village government with the community, heads of RT and RW, cooperation and recitation. However, in the harmonization, it turns out that there are obstacles, namely the existence of irresponsible individuals who provoke the community and there are still some people who are indirectly in conflict because they are hurt because their choice in the 2024 election is not elected. This harmonization has implications for regional resilience in the city of Surakarta which is increasingly resilient because the existence of Pancasila as an ideology can be maintained, the people of Surakarta are increasingly mature in democracy, the regional economy is increasing, socio-cultural life is more harmonious because prioritizing tolerance and security can be well maintained.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to provide an alternative solution for increasing tolerance among Muslim students through the teachings of the Qadiriyah Wa Naqsabandiyah order in the post-conflict region in Indonesia. This research was conducted in West Kalimantan, Indonesia, with data sources from Muslim students at IAIN Pontianak and a total of 15 informants. This research method uses a qualitative research design; data is obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis is carried out through data reduction, data display, verification, and conclusion. The findings in this study revealed that tolerance attitudes in students are still pretense and do not lead to positive tolerance. Therefore, the author provides alternative solutions for building tolerance in students through the teachings of the Qadiriyah Wa Naqsabandiyah Order.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi peran pendidikan kewarganegaraan dalam membangun karakter bangsa pada mahasiswa dan problematika pendidikan kewarganegaraan dalam membangun karakter bangsa pada mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode penelitian kepustakaan. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan studi dokumen. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis induktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peran pendidikan kewarganegaraan sebagai mata kuliah wajib kurikulum di era digital adalah untuk membangun pengetahuan kewarganegaraan, keterampilan kewarganegaraan dan sikap atau kepribadian kewarganegaraan, namun tujuan utamanya adalah membangun karakter bangsa, mengingat mata kuliah tersebut adalah leading sector dalam membangun karakter bangsa. Secara teoritis pendidikan kewarganegaraan sangat efektif untuk membangun karakter bangsa di era digital pada generasi muda khususnya mahasiswa, namun dalam implementasinya masih jauh dari harapan, karena masih banyak mahasiswa melakukan tindakan dan bersikap tidak sesuai dengan kepribadian bangsa, seperti melakukan tindakan pidana, bersikap apatis terhadap kepentingan bersama, dan ersiap individuali. Pendidikan kewarganegaraan memiliki beberapa problematika dalam membangun karakter bangsa di era digital, yaitu kurangnya jam mengajar karena di perguruan tinggi hanya 2 sks, kompetensi dosen yang kurang maksimal, mahasiswa lebih tertarik dengan budaya asing dari pada budaya bangsa Indonesia, dan motivasi belajar mahasiswa masih tergolong kurang karena masih banyak dosen yang belum bisa memanfaatkan teknologi digital dengan maksimalThis study aims to identify the role of civic education in building national character in students and the problems of civic education in building national character in students. This research uses a qualitative approach with literature research methods. Document studies were used for data collection techniques in this study. The data analysis used isinductive analysis. The results showed that the role of civic education as a compulsory curriculum subject in the digital era is to build citizenship knowledge, citizenship skills, and civic attitudes or personalities. Still, the main goal is to build the nation's character, considering that the course is a leading sector in building the nation's character. Theoretically, civic education is very effective in building the nation's character in the digital era in the young generation, especially students. However, its implementation is still far from expectations because many students still take actions and behave incompatible with the nation's personality, such as committing criminal acts, being apathetic towards common interests, and being ready for individuality. Civic education has several problems in building the nation's character in the digital era, namely the lack of teaching hours because in higher education, there are only 2credits, the competence of lecturers is less than optimal, students are more interested in foreign cultures thanIndonesian cultures, and student learning motivation is still relatively lacking because there are still many lecturerswho cannot utilise digital technology optimally.

Abstract

This study has the objective to discuss in depth about the obstacles experienced by Citizenship Education teacher in building the student’s character. This type of research is qualitative. Data collection method were literature study and observation. Data were analyzed using interactive data analysis. Civic Education is a lesson that must be given to students from elementary school to college, so it is not denied that Civic Education has a significant in building a good citizen. Basically, Civic Education teacher's responsibility is huge, because the task is not only to build knowledge of civic (civic knowledge), but also to build the skills of civic (civic skills) and character (civic disposition). Up to now, the effort were not yet brought about a maximal result. The reasons were many such as cognitive-heavy, lack of teacher’s competence, had teaching the emphasis on civic knowledge, but not civic skills and dispositions.

Abstract

Teachers are at the forefront of building students' competencies for junior high school education, especially local wisdom-based civic competence, but during the implementation of the independent curriculum, the competencies mastered by students are still not optimal. This study aims to ascertain the level of local wisdom-based civic competence that students possess, the challenges that Pancasila subjects present to students in developing local wisdom-based civic competence, and potential solutions for fostering local wisdom-based civic competence in the era of independent curricula. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Pacitan, and the research subjects were students. This research uses a qualitative approach and a descriptive research method because it tries to describe the competencies mastered by students, the obstacles to building them, and solutions to these obstacles, especially those related to local wisdom-based civic competence in the era of an independent curriculum. Data collection techniques are interviews, observation, and documentation, and the data analysis used is interactive data analysis. Students have not been able to master civic competence optimally because they have not been able to implement civic disposition optimally and master civic disposition and civic skills more. This can happen because there are several obstacles, namely less than optimal teacher competence, unsupportive facilities and infrastructure, teachers being often late in starting lessons, poor student ethics towards teachers, and still teachers who cannot utilize digital-based learning media. The solution that needs to be done is for the government to make a policy to provide education and training to teachers related to understanding and implementing the Merdeka curriculum. This needs to be done so that each teacher can improve his competence so that his role in the learning process can increase civic competence based on local wisdom in students.
