Abstract

This community service activity was carried out in November 2022. The target are students at Aisyiyah Kindergarten Jampue Branch who are classified as Early Childhood Children. The method used is sharing and practice introducing morphology and anatomy of goldfish (Cyprinus carpio). The activity was carried out in several stages, namely: the initial stage in form of obtaining permits from the school, then the implementation stage by interacting with students to introduce fish morphology, and practice introducing fish anatomy by directly fish surgery. This service activity succeeded in increasing understanding and enthusiasm of Aisyiyah Kindergarten students, Jampue Branch, to learn more about the morphology and anatomy of fish. Apart from that, this activity provides information to students about the benefits of fish as food with the various advantages that fish has.

Abstract

One the campus placement schools teaching class VII 2024 is UPT SD Negeri 182 Pinrang, located at jln.H. Kanebo No.1 Ujung Lero, Suppa sub-district, Pinrang district, South Sulawesi. Lero village is in the coastal area and is known as a maritime community whose source of income or livelihood is the majority of the population as fisherman and their income comes from the sea. As om of the school located at the tip of lero, the aim of this service is to increase students marine literacy who are expected to be able to understand and evaluate every from of activity or activity in the fisheries sektor by teaching basic concepts through curricular activities, namely local fisheries content. The learning media used are learning videos and the implementation of pre-test and post-tests to determine the level of students understanding of the learning outcomes. Based on the results of the pre-test and post- test, about fisheries mulok has increased their knowledge and understanding of marine literacy.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan mulai bulan Januari sampai Februari 2024 di Pulau Umming Desa Mallawa Kecamatan Mallusetasi Kabupaten Barru Propinsi Sulawesi Selatan. Tujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk mengindentifikasi dan mengukur kelimpahan, keanekaragaman plankton dan mengukur kualitas air di Pulau Umming. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode observasi dengan melakukan pengambilan sampel air pada empat stasiun dengan alat plankton net dan botol gelap kemudian dilakukan pengamatan di laboratorium Biologi Fapetrik UM Parepare. Komposisi jenis untuk fitoplankton didominasi dari kelas Bacillaryophyceae, yaitu 91,51 % dan untuk zooplankton  didominasi dari kelas Crustacea, yaitu 90,91 %. Kelimpahan terbanyak untuk fitoplankton yaitu Chaetoceros danicum sebanyak 73 spesies per liter per stasiun sedangkan untuk zooplankton yaitu Meganyctiphanes norvegica sebanyak 19,9 spesies per liter. Nilai indeks keanekaragaman yang diperoleh untuk fitoplankton sekitar 2,42-2,82 dan tertinggi pada stasiun II, yakni 2,82. Sedangkan untuk zooplankton didapatkan nilai indeks keanekaragaman sebesar 2,26. Nilai indeks keseragaman untuk fitoplankton didapatkan nilai sekitar 0,82-0,94 dan tertinggi terdapat pada stasiun II, yaitu 0,94. Sedangkan untuk zooplankton dengan nilai 0,94. Kesimpulan dari penelitian yaitu bahwa komposisi jenis fitoplankton yang ada di perairan pulau Umming adalah fitoplankton dari kelas diatom (Bacillaryophyceae) dan untuk Dynophyceae. Nilai indeks keseragaman dan indeks keragaman cenderung stabil pada semua stasiun.  Faktor-faktor kimia dan fisika perairan pulau Umming mendukung kehidupan fitoplankton dan zooplankton untuk dapat hidup dan berkembang biak pada perairan tersebut.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian pakan buatan lokal  terhadap pertumbuhan, sintasan dan FCR benih ikan mas (Cyprinus carpio). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dari bukan Juni sampai Juli 2023. di Balai Benih Ikan Passeno Kecamatan Baranti Kabupaten Sidrap Sulawesi Selatan. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan empat perlakuan dan tiga kali ulangan. Data dianalisis dengan analisis sidik ragam ANOVA dan dilanjutkana Uji Lanjut Tukey. Hasil dari penelitian yaitu bahwa  laju pertumbuhan berat tertinggi didapatkan pada perlakuan D : 4,9 gram, perlakuan C : 4,5 gram, B : 4 gram dan A : 2,6 gram. Pertumbuhan panjang tertinggi diperoleh pada perlakuan D yakni 6,4 cm, perlakuan C : 6,2, perlakuan B : 5,8 cm dan perlakuan A : 5,1 cm. Sintasan yang didapatkan pada  A, C dan D yaitu 100%, sedangkan perlakuan  B yaitu  99%. Konversi pakan perlakuan A : 3,3, B : 2,5 C : 2,7%, dan D : 2,2%. Kesimpulan dari penelitian yaitu bahwa pemberian pakan buatan lokal pada ikan mas (Cyprinus carpio) berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan panjang, berat, sintasan dan konversi pakan. Abstract

Kabupaten Barru merupakan salah satu daerah penghasil rumput laut terbesar di Sulawesi Selatan. Keberlanjutan budidaya rumput laut dipengaruhi oleh berbagai faktor, diantaranya ekologi, ekonomi, sosial, kelembagaan dan teknologi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk analisis status keberlanjutan budidaya rumput laut di Kabupaten Barru. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan Multidimensional Scalling (MDS) yang dianalisis dengan RAP-SEAWEED. Beberapa parameter dari masing-masing dimensi dianalisis untuk menilai kondisi eksisting usaha budidaya rumput laut di Kabupaten Barru. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan budidaya rumput laut di Kabupaten Barru tergolong dalam kategori cukup berkelanjutan (quite sustainable) pada dimensi sosial dan dimensi teknologi dan tergolong kategori kurang berkelanjutan (less sustainable) pada dimensi kelembagaan, dimensi ekonomi, dan dimensi ekologi. Analisis parameter menggunakan nilai stress, R-Square, dan monte carlo menunjukkan keakuratan model dan atribut layak untuk digunakan dalam analisis. Hasil analisis status keberlanjutan yang masih tergolong kategori kurang perlu dibenahi dengan memperhatikan beberapa atribut yang memiliki sensitifitas tinggi pada analisis leverage. Evaluasi atribut untuk peningkatan skor keberlanjutan dapat menjadi pertimbangan dasar dalam merumuskan strategi pengelolaan berkelanjutan budidaya rumput laut di Kabupaten Barru.

Abstract

Tilapia is a widely favored type of fish because it has thick meat and a delicious taste. The use of probiotics in tilapia maintenance can increase immunity from disease attacks through the addition of probiotics can increase the nutritional content of feed protein and maintain the balance of digestive tract microbes. The study aims to provide feed enriched with Bacillus subtilis probiotics to see parameters in the form of immune responses through blood pictures in tilapia, survival rates, and daily growth rate values. Tilapia seeds (5-7cm) were maintained in maintenance tanks with 5 treatments and 3 repetitions in the form of treatment without additional B. subtilis, addition of B. subtilis 10³ CFU / mL, addition of B. subtilis 105 CFU / mL, addition of B. subtilis 107 CFU / mL, and treatment with the addition of B. subtilis 109 CFU / mL. The results obtained showed that the addition of B. subtilis probiotics to saline tilapia fish feed with a concentration of 107 CFU/mL could increase the number of erythrocytes and was able to increase the survival value, as well as the daily growth rate of saline tilapia fish (O. niloticus) significantly. However, they did not affect the number of fish leukocytes during maintenance.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Desa Bulu Cindea, Kabupaten Pangkep, merupakan salah satu penghasil garam terbesar di Sulawesi Selatan. Namun, masyarakat setempat hanya memproduksi garam mentah dengan nilai ekonomi rendah, yang menyebabkan keterbatasan dalam peningkatan kesejahteraan ekonomi mereka. Program pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan masyarakat dalam diversifikasi produk berbasis garam menjadi garam spa BC dan garam susu BC, yang memiliki nilai tambah lebih tinggi. Metode: Metode yang digunakan meliputi penyuluhan, pelatihan berbasis praktik langsung, dan pendampingan berkelanjutan dalam pengolahan garam dengan memanfaatkan bahan lokal, termasuk limbah garam berkandungan magnesium tinggi. Keberhasilan program diukur berdasarkan peningkatan keterampilan peserta, jumlah produk yang berhasil diproduksi, serta peningkatan pendapatan masyarakat dari hasil penjualan produk diversifikasi garam. Hasil: Menunjukkan bahwa 85% peserta memahami dan mampu menerapkan proses pembuatan garam spa dan garam susu, serta menghasilkan produk dengan kualitas yang memenuhi standar pasar. Selain itu, terjadi peningkatan rata-rata pendapatan peserta sebesar 30% setelah program berjalan selama enam bulan. Program ini berdampak positif terhadap keterampilan masyarakat, terutama ibu rumah tangga, serta membuka peluang ekonomi baru yang berkelanjutan. Kesimpulan: Novelty dari program ini terletak pada pemanfaatan limbah garam berkandungan magnesium tinggi sebagai bahan baku utama dalam produk garam spa dan garam susu, yang sebelumnya kurang dimanfaatkan. Selain itu, pendekatan pelatihan berbasis komunitas dengan pendampingan jangka panjang memastikan keberlanjutan usaha serta peningkatan daya saing produk di pasar lokal maupun nasional. Untuk keberhasilan jangka panjang, direkomendasikan adanya pendampingan lebih lanjut dalam aspek pengemasan dan strategi pemasaran digital guna memperluas akses pasar serta meningkatkan daya saing produk di tingkat nasional dan internasional.

Freshwater crayfish (Cherax quadricarinatus) is a valuable aquaculture commodity with relatively easy cultivation. However, low larval survival during early developmental stages remains a major challenge in its farming. This study aims to evaluate the effects of dissolved glucose and amino acid combinations on growth characteristics, molting frequency, and survival rate. The research was conducted in the Greenhouse of the Faculty of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, and Fisheries, Universitas Muhammadiyah Parepare, using hatchery-produced crayfish larvae. Four dosage combinations were tested: A) 100 ppm glucose + 250 ppm amino acids, B) 150 ppm glucose + 200 ppm amino acids, C) 200 ppm glucose + 150 ppm amino acids, and D) 250 ppm glucose + 100 ppm amino acids, each replicated three times. The results showed that glucose and amino acid combinations significantly affected crayfish length growth. The highest absolute length growth was observed in the 250 ppm glucose + 100 ppm amino acid group. Meanwhile, the 150 ppm glucose + 200 ppm amino acid combination showed the best performance in molting frequency, number of molting crayfish, survival rate, and percentage of surviving crayfish. Abstract

Salt is one of the pond products relied upon by the community in Bulu Cindea Village. The potential for salt in this village is very abundant because raw materials are available at any time. However, the management process is still simple and untouched by technological development. This potential can be maximally developed through the development of geomembrane technology, which is proven to maximize yields and increase income for villagers. The method used by this service team is the socialization and development of salt pond demonstration plots with geomembrane technology. The development of this technology produces the best-quality salt with a relatively short harvest time, so as to increase the selling value of salt products. This community service program can be an example for other villagers, so that later it will have an effect on increasing the knowledge and welfare of residents. This community service activity positively impacted the knowledge of participating villagers, as measured by post-test scores of villagers reaching 74% after implementing this program.
