Abstract

The Struggle of Nyai Ontosoroh in the Novel Bumi Manusia by Pramoedya Ananta Toer (Overview of Liberal Feminism). The purpose of this research is to describe the struggle waged by Nyai Ontosoroh in the novel Bumi Manusia by Pramoedya Ananta Toer, using the theory of liberal feminism. The method used is descriptive qualitative. The results of the research that have been conducted show some of the struggles made by Nyai Ontosoroh in maintaining her existence as a woman who can still appear in public even though she is only a siri wife. The struggles that have been carried out are active in studying and not giving up despite being oppressed by her social status as a concubine. The conclusion in this study is that Nyai Ontosoroh as a female figure is able to reflect the values of liberal feminism in the novel Bumi Manusia.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of project-based strategies in improving exposition text writing skills of class X SMA Negeri 10 Gowa students. The research used Classroom Action Research method which was conducted in two cycles. The subjects of the research were students of class X SMA Negeri 10 Gowa totalling 30 students. Data collection techniques included observation sheets, writing tests, interviews with students, and documentation to support the research results. The research instruments consisted of tests and non-tests. The data obtained were analysed using qualitative and quantitative descriptive techniques. The results showed a significant improvement in students' exposition text writing skills from the first cycle to the second cycle. In the first cycle, the students' completion rate only reached 40%, with an average score of 72. Most students still had difficulty developing ideas, using good grammar, and understanding the appropriate writing structure. In the second cycle, after revising the approach with more intensive guidance, the completion rate increased to 93%, with an average score of 85. This increase shows that the project-based strategy is effective in improving students' exposition text writing skills. This approach not only helps students understand the structure of writing, but also involves them in the creative process of writing, increasing motivation, and a sense of responsibility for their work. Based on the results of the study, the project-based strategy is recommended to be widely applied in writing learning at the senior high school level.

Abstract

This study aims to improve argumentation skills in debate among students of class XII IPA 5 SMA Negeri 10 Gowa through the application of Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. This study used a classroom action research design consisting of four main stages, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were students of class XII IPA 5 SMA Negeri 10 Gowa consisting of 29 students. The data obtained from this study were analysed qualitatively and quantitatively. Based on the results of the study, the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model succeeded in improving students' argumentation skills in debate. In cycle I, although there has been an increase in terms of student involvement and self-confidence, there are still weaknesses in terms of argument quality. Based on the results of the calculation, it can be seen that most students obtained a score range of 41-60 (sufficient), but only a few students obtained a score range of 81-100 (very good).  However, in cycle II, after the application of strengthening argumentation techniques and additional exercises, students showed significant improvement in formulating arguments that were more logical, evidence-based, and responsive to opposing arguments. From this calculation, it can be seen that the largest increase occurred in the number of students who obtained a score of 81-100 which showed progress in clarity of argument, accuracy of data, and public speaking ability.

Abstract

This research is entitled The Value of Heroism in The Novel Laut Bercerita by Leila S. Chudori which aims to describe the value of heroism found in the novel. The method used is a type of qualitative research with a qualitative descriptive design. Data collection techniques were carried out using reading and note-taking techniques. Apart from that, the analysis stage is data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research instrument is a human instrument with checking the validity of the data using theoretical triangulation. The result of the research show that there are five values of heroisme found namely willingness to sacrifice, unity, mutual respect, and enthusiasm and never giving up. In conclusion, this novel has positive values that are useful as learning media or just reading.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the ability to translate Makassar language sentences into Indonesian through powerpoint media for students. This type of research is quantitative research in the form of quantitative descriptive. The population in this study were all fourth grade students of SD Inpres Jipang, totalling 32 people. The sample set was 32 students using saturated sampling technique. The data collection technique used is a test technique, namely a written test. The data collected will be analysed using descriptive statistical techniques. The results showed that the ability to translate Makassarese sentences into Indonesian through powerpoint media of students was in the category of not yet able with an average score obtained by students as a whole of 48.7. The level of ability to translate Makassarese sentences into Indonesian through powerpoint  media of students, namely samples who obtained scores of 75-100, did not meet the criteria for the level of student ability to reach the predetermined standard of 75%. The students who scored 75-100 were 6 students (18.8%) who were in the able category and students who scored 0-74 were 26 students (81.2%) who were in the unable category.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of using Lontaraq card media in learning to read Bugis language texts for class III students at SDN 51 Tonronge, Soppeng Regency. This type of research is quantitative research in the form of an experiment. The research design used was One Group Pretest-Posttest, which was carried out at SDN 51 Tonronge. The data collection technique used is the test technique. The data analysis techniques are normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis test (t-test). The results of the hypothesis test analysis (paired sample test) show that the t-value = 17,964 > t-table value = 2,160 (n = 14) with a significance of 0.025. Thus, H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected. It can be concluded that the Lontaraq card learning media is effectively used in learning to read Bugis language texts for class III students at SD Negeri 51 Tonronge.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk dan fungsi kesantunan berbahasa dalam berkomunikasi di lingkungan keluarga masyarakat Bugis dan Makassar di Kota Makassar. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Data berasal dari anggota keluarga masyarakat Bugis dan Makassar. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data model interaktif Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bentuk kesantunan berbahasa di lingkungan keluarga masyarakat Bugis dan Makassar terdiri dari maksim kebijaksanaan, kedermawanan, pujian, kerendahan hati, kesetujuan dan simpati. Fungsi kesantunan berbahasa terdiri dari fungsi menyatakan, menanyakan, memerintah, meminta maaf, dan mengkritik.

Abstract

Study This aims to describe the domination class ruler to subordinate class. Research data sources This is the first time the novel Laskar Pelangi was published by Andrea Hirata by Bentang Pustaka in 2005. Type study This is descriptive qualitative. The method used was to read, note, classify, and analyze. Research results show that the novel revealed a difference in class between class rulers and subordinates, which gives birth to domination. Domination between class rulers (capital owners) and class subordination (labour) is triggered by several things, like profession, environment, and pattern of life. Race labourers are exploited because of class-decisive ruler standardization in public.

Abstract

This study examines the complex relationships between interpersonal relationship quality (IRQ) and life satisfaction (LS) among people in Indonesia, with a focus on the roles played by emotional intelligence (EI) and effective communication (EC). Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) was used as a quantitative method to examine the associations between the variables in a sample of 210 people. The findings show strong and favorable correlations: EC and EI have a positive impact on LS and IRQ. A number of fit indices indicate the structural model's satisfactory fit, and the blindfolding test confirms the model's predictive ability. The results indicate that, in the Indonesian setting, developing emotional intelligence and effective communication skills may lead to improved interpersonal connections and a higher quality of life.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the ability to write rupama of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Mangarabombang, Takalar Regency. This type of research is quantitative research in the form of quantitative descriptive. The variable of this research is the ability to write rupama. The population in this study were all VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Mangarabombang Takalar Regency, totalling 10 class groups. Meanwhile, the sample determined in this study were students of class VIII.A SMP Negeri 1 Mangarabombang Takalar Regency totalling 34 people, using simple random sampling technique. The data collection technique used is the written test technique. The data collected will be analysed using descriptive statistical techniques.The results showed that the ability to write rupama of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Mangarabombang Takalar Regency was declared incapable. This can be seen in the percentage of students who scored ≥ 75 in the able category did not reach the set criteria of 75%, but only 61.8%.
