Abstract

The amount of waste generated by the people of Surabaya in 2020 reached 2,913.18 tons per day. With an increasing population growth rate as happened in Wonorejo Village, Surabaya City, which has a high population growth rate. This study aims to determine the amount of waste generated at the TPS. The method used for sampling and measurement is SNI 19-3964-1994. Based on the results of sampling, the amount of waste generated in Wonorejo Village is 2.94 m3/person/day. Then the average composition of organic waste is easy to decompose, organic waste is difficult to decompose, and inorganic waste is 44.3%, 1.3%, and 54.5%, respectively.

Abstract

Limbah cair merupakan sisa hasil buangan sisa produksi atau aktivitas domestik yang berupa cairan. Limbah cair dapat berupa air beserta bahan­­bahan buangan lainnya yang tercampur (tersuspensi) maupun larut didalam air. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memberikan informasi tentang perbandingan efektivitas resin immobilized foto katalis TiO2 dan ZnO dalam proses degradasi fotokatalitik senyawa toksik yang terdegradasi (%). Kabupaten Sidoarjo merupakan kabupaten dikenal sebagai kota delta, karena diapit oleh dua sungai yaitu sungai Surabaya dan sungai porong. Penelitian ini dilakukan di pabrik tahu Muncul, Surabaya dan industri batik rumahan di Kecamatan Tanjung Bumi, Bangkalan, Madura. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode refluks untuk parameter uji COD, metode spektrofotometer UV­­Vis untuk parameter uji UV254 dan metode Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy untuk uji parameter Crom (Cr). Hasil penelitian pengaruh variasi RIP­ZnO adalah 1; 2; 3. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian limbah batik dan limbah tahu memiliki variasi yang lebih tinggi yaitu mencapai 75,56% untuk dosis 15 gram pada 15 jam, sedangkan limbah batik dan limbah tahu pada dosis 15 gram ke 15 jam dengan hasil 77,89%. Sedangkan pengaruh variasi terhadap penurunan konsentrasi UV254 untuk limbah batik memiliki variasi control 7,65% pada dosis 15 gram ke jam 15 dan limbah tahu dengan hasil 73,06% pada dosis 15 gram ke 15 jam. Pada penurunan konsentrasi krom (Cr), variasi control menghasilkan penurunan 73,06% pada dosis 15 gram ke jam 15 untuk limbah batik. Penyisihan tinggi COD dan UV254 didapatkan pada limbah batik dan limbah tahu memiliki nilai terendah.

Abstract

In general, the condition of waste management in the Graha Bunder Asri residential area is still conventional by means of transportation. There is still garbage that is not transported to the final processing site. The community chooses to dump garbage on empty land and burn it. Garbage transportation at the Graha Bunder Asri RW 05 Housing using a garbage cart measuring 150 kg / m3 and a garbage truck measuring 2.5 tons / m3. The waste bank system is a strategy in an effort to invite the community to empower their respective waste before it is disposed of in the final processing site. The study was conducted for 14 days. The results of the analysis were processed using the Correlation Analysis method using the Mini Tab software. The waste that has been sorted by the community at Graha Bunder Asri RW 05 is 7.92 kg / day from the total weight of 30.75 kg / day. The waste that is sorted is food scraps, paper, cardboard, leaves, and plastic bottles. Food waste and leaves are used for composting, while paper, cardboard and plastic bottles are sold to collectors. Meanwhile, reduction waste is transported to the final processing site. At Graha Bunder Asri RW 05, the average volume of waste is 2.67 liters / person / day and the average weight of waste is 0.34 kg / person / day. Keywords: Waste Generation, Waste Bank System, Community Participation

Abstract

Liquid waste generated from tofu processing has a high BOD content. Therefore, it is necessary to innovate wastewater treatment for the tofu industry so as not to cause a decrease in the environmental carrying capacity of the waters. This research uses Resin Immobillized Photocatalyst Technology (RIPT) which is expected to create new innovations for the community and can be applied to the WWTP tofu industry or other industries. Results Based on the research, the higher the dose of Resin Immobillized Photocatalyst (RIP) added, the more organic compounds decomposed. The best results of the removal of BOD parameters in RIP-TiO2 in a dose of 15gram the percentage of BOD removal reached 79.95%, while RIP-ZnO in the same dose of 15gram the proportion of removal reached 90.20%. The selection of sampling times of 0, 30, 60, 120 and 180 which resulted in the maximum percentage of BOD removal was a sampling time of 180 minutes. This can happen because the longer the wastewater is exposed to RIP, the more ion exchange occurs.

Abstract

Kabupaten Nganjuk merupakan salah satu kabupaten di Provinsi Jawa Timur dengan jumlah penduduk yang cukup tinggi yaitu 1.103.491  jiwa. Tingginya jumlah penduduk mempengaruhi laju produksi air limbah di suatu Kabupaten/Kota. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk merencanakan instalasi bangunan pengolahan limbah tinja (IPLT) serta pelayanan yang akan diterapkan pada IPLT. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode analisis data. Hasil penelitian ini didapat dimensi bangunan pengolahan bak ekualisasi panjang 1,4 m, lebar 0,7 m, dengan tinggi bangunan 1,8 m. Tangki imhoff panjang 40 m, lebar 9,5 m, dengan tinggi bangunan 9,5 m. Bak anaerobik panjang 33 m, lebar 11 m, dengan tinggi bangunan 4,5 m. Bak Aerasi fakultatif panjang 34,5 m, lebar 11,5 m, dengan tinggi bangunan 2,5 m. Bak maturasi panjang 28,5 m, lebar 9,5 m, dengan tinggi bangunan 1,5 m. Sludge Drying Bed panjang 32 m, lebar 8 m, dengan tinggi bangunan 1,2 m. Untuk lumpur dikeringkan pada unit sludge drying bed. Skema pelayanan berupa penyedotan pola transportasi pengangkutan secara langsung.

Abstract

Garbage is still a problem experienced by the community, due to poor management and processing and lack of awareness of the community itself. The waste generated by the Manukan Kulon TPS is still managed conventionally. Garbage is temporarily stored and then disposed of to the landfill using a garbage truck. One of the efforts that can be done in order to overcome the waste problem is to redesign the Manukan Kulon Temporary Disposal Site into a Reduce, Reuse, Recycle (TPS 3R) so that the burden of waste that is accommodated in the TPA is reduced. This plan projects the age of the 3R TPS for the next ten years, so that the highest volume of waste generation in 2022 will reach 78.53 m3/day with a population served by 13,744 people. Planning The 3R TPS consists of a sorting area, a stall packaging area, an organic waste storage and enumeration area, an organic waste composting area, a leachate storage area, and a compost sieving and packaging area, and is equipped with an office, cart parking area, residue area, storage warehouse. tools, toilets and prayer rooms with a total building area of ​​527.75 m2. The budget plan (RAB) that must be spent for this plan is Rp. 1,080,200,973.

Abstract

Liquid waste from the tofu industry contains a lot of organic matter, the high content of this organic material will result in high BOD and COD values ​​in the waters and can have a bad impact if not handled properly. One alternative that is commonly used to overcome this problem is to use a photocatalyst degradation method. This study aims to determine the reaction kinetics which includes the determination of the reaction rate constant and the reaction order in removing the COD content of the resin-immobilized TiO₂ photocatalyst. This study presents the reaction kinetics of RIPT with catalyst, TiO2, catalyst mass (10gr, 20gr, 30gr), and RIPT mass (5gr, 10gr, 15gr). This research was conducted by making immobilized TiO2 photocatalyst resin and then entering 1000 ml of tofu industrial waste and the obtained RIPT-resin into the reactor in which stirring occurred using a test jar. Based on the results of the study, the best value for the reaction rate constant was obtained by the mass variation of RIPT (15gr). Meanwhile, the best value constant of reaction rate was obtained by mass variation of 30 gram TiO2 catalyst, with the result that the reaction rate constant value of RIPT- and RIPT-TiO2 30 grams was 0.0101 minute-1.

Abstract

Tofu liquid waste contains organic material, namely BOD which is quite high, if it is directly discharged into water bodies, it will reduce the carrying capacity of the environment. This causes the carrying capacity of the environment to decrease and ecosystem performance to become unbalanced, so that further processing is needed, namely Resin Immobilized Photocatalyst Technology (RIPT). In this study, the BOD reduction process was carried out with resin, photocatalyst, and immobilization. The process of immobilizing the catalyst against the resin aims to expand the surface and maintain photocatalyst activity. The type of catalyst used is ZnO and TiO2. After obtaining the RIP (Resin Immobilized Photocatalyst), then the RIP was added to the wastewater and the BOD concentration in the tofu wastewater was calculated. The resin capacity is calculated with the aim of knowing the ability of the resin to reduce the concentration of BOD. From the research that has been done, it can be concluded that the highest resin capacity when using ZnO catalyst is 0.3159 g/L and 0.2806 g/L using TiO2. The effluent parameter concentration is directly proportional to the resin capacity. As the sampling time increases, the resin's ability decreases.

Abstract

Permasalahan lingkungan yang disebabkan oleh sampah telah menjadi problematika bersama. Upaya menjaga lingkungan sekitar perlu dikenalkan sejak dini sehingga tim bina desa pengolahan sampah Fakultas Teknik UPN Veteran Jawa Timur melakukan edukasi mengenai pemilahan sampah bagi siswa sekolah dasar di Desa Giripurno, Kecamatan Bumiaji, Kota Batu. Edukasi ini bertujuan untuk menumbuhkan kesadaran siswa agar mereka lebih peduli dengan lingkungan sekitarnya. Pemberian materi edukasi meliputi konsep tentang sampah yang ada di lingkungan sekitar, klasifikasi sampah dengan analisa keadaan sekitar, pentingnya pemilahan sampah untuk dilakukan, manfaat pemilahan sampah serta dampak bila tidak melakukan pemilahan sampah dengan benar. Kegiatan edukasi kepada para siswa yang telah dilakukan ini memberikan pengetahuan bagi siswa-siswi SDN 02 Giripurno mengenai pemilahan sampah dengan benar. Kegiatan ini juga meningkatkan kemampuan para siswa mengenai dampak negatif adanya sampah sehingga perlu dilakukan pemilahan serta mengetahui berbagai pemanfaatan sampah yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengurangi kuantitas sampah.

Abstract

Food loss can be defined as the reduction of food quantity at each stage of the food supply chain, particularly in the type of food consumed by humans. This study aims to directly measure the amount and composition of food waste in order to provide complete and detailed information, which can also be used as a reference in formulating policies or preventive actions. Measurement of the quantity and composition of waste refers to SNI 19-3964-1994 with a sampling process for seven consecutive days based on the EPA's "A Guide to Conducting and Analyzing a Food Waste Assessment." The sampling results show that the quantity of food waste for one week (7 days) at Wonokromo Market is 1.08 tons and for Mangga Dua Market it is 1.06 tons, with an average food waste produced at Wonokromo Market of 154.6 kg per day and at Mangga Dua Market of 152.7 kg per day. This number includes only the categories of vegetables, fruits, starchy foods, whole grains, oily fruits and grains, and meat. Vegetables are in the category of food waste with the highest percentage. waste characteristics obtained from laboratory tests with test parameters for water content, calorific value, and CHON.
