Abstract

Bundaran Dolog is surrounded by traffic area, which is being susceptible for traffic jam in peak hours. Peoples, who has been living around Bundaran Dolog, has a high risk of respiratory issues due to being exposed by nitogen dioxide (NO2) emission from vehicles. This study aims is to know the effect of the vehicles volume to the NO2 emission at Bundaran Dolog. Sampling was taken at Pelangi Park and Jemur Gayungan settlement for 8 point sampling within 6 days. The volume of identified vehicles, including light (LV), heavy (HV), and motorcycle (MC), temperature, and air flow velocity have been measured. The results shows that Pelangi Park has the average of NO2 is 30.92 ug/m3, temperature is 30,2℃ , whileJemur gayungan settlement identify concentration of NO2 41,07 ug/m3, temperature is 30,7℃ . The strong relationship between variable of different vehicles volume, temperature, air flowrate and the increasing of NO2 emission has been concluded by using multiple linear regression.

Abstract

The Faculty of Engineering, UPN "Veteran" East Java, has a total workforce of 100 people, who work in the laboratory and outside the laboratory. According to Per-05 / MEN / 1996 in chapter III article 3, it states that a workplace containing 100 people or more contains potential hazards that can lead to work accidents. To create a higher education institution that has safety, it is necessary to plan an K3 Management System which is used as a reference or guideline for the Faculty of Engineering UPN "Veteran" East Java. The drafting and its application were carried out by observing the work process and identifying hazards in each laboratory at the Faculty of Engineering. Based on the results of data processing and analysis, it can be concluded that the types of hazards that have a high risk value level of 49, a moderate risk value level of 19, and a low risk value level of 38, this is not acceptable and should require training.

Abstract

Many techniques have been developed in wastewater treatment process which features a unit that can remove particles or flocs that tend to be difficult to settle, in which using a settling unit is less effective. This research aims to determine the reduction and the effectiveness of flotation units on the fat oil content, TSS, and BOD in the presence of the influence of PAC coagulants and recirculation. The result of this research shows that the best reduction in fat oil, TSS, and BOD content is at a recirculation ratio of 100% with the addition of a coagulant of 15ppm in which the percentage of reduction in fat oil is 75.00%, the percentage reduction in TSS is 81.48%, and the percentage reduction in BOD is 85.33%.

Abstract

This study describes the potential of microalgae biofuel using the oxidation ditch algae reactor. Production of biomass, chlorophyll a and lipids of Chlorella vulgaris increased with time and was observed to be 2440 mg / L, 3.78 mg / L, and 16.91% after 7 days, with tofu waste. Production of biomass, chlorophyll a and lipids was 2050 mg / l, 2.4 mg / l, 14.34%, with tannery waste. Production of biomass, chlorophyll a and lipids was 2430 mg / l, 3.47 mg / l, 16.79%. Production of biomass, chlorophyll a and lipids of Spirulina Plantesis increased with increasing time and it was observed that 3320 mg / L, 4.81 mg / L, and 23.86% after 7 days, with tofu waste the production of biomass, chlorophyll a and lipids increased with time. and observed 3210 mg / L, 2.67 mg / L, and 19.34% after 7 days, with waste from the tannery production of biomass, chlorophyll a and lipids of Spirulina Plantesis increased with increasing time and was observed to be 2980 mg / L, 4 mg / L, and 19.53% after 7 days. This study shows that biofuel production and wastewater treatment is made possible by Chlorella Vulgaris & Spirulina Plantesis using tofu waste & leather tanning waste

Abstract

ABSTRACT The increase in laundry activity in the city of Surabaya has led to an increase in the use of detergents, where the content in detergents has a bad effect on the environment. This study uses an adsorption method with commercial activated carbon upflow flow with flow variations of 5 ml / minute, 10 ml / minute, and 15 ml / minute with a height variation of 10 cm, 15 cm, and 20 cm and a sampling time of 2 hours, 4 hours, 6 hours, 8 hours, 10 hours and 12 hours. The results obtained were the highest efficiency from phosphate removal of 99.07% and anionic surfactant (detergent) 95.35%. The optimum discharge is 5 ml / minute with a height of 15 cm of phosphate and 20 cm of anionic surfactant (detergent). The suitable model is freunlidch, where the R2 value is 0.9418.

Abstract

Composting is a process of decomposition of organic matter by utilizing microorganism. This composting uses coconut ash dust and goat manure with the addition of Orgadec bioactivator Manure that has entened the composting process is then analyzed for levels of Nitrogen (N), Carbon (C), pH, Temperature Water Content and C/N Ratio. The results of the analysis are then compared with the quality standarts of SNI 19-7030-2004. Manure analysis was carried out on 7, 14, 21, 28, and 35 days. The results of the analysis of manure with a material variation of 1:1:1 are more effective and require a relatively fast composting time of <30 days, compared to variations of 1:1:0 dan 1:2:1 which require a relatively long decomposition time, namely >35 days.

Abstract

PMKP Kupang is a Eucalyptus oil manufacturing factory that has been operating in Mojokerto Regency and is owned by Perum Perhutani. When doing their work, production employees get high enough of pressure so that the mental workload of employees increases. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the risk of mental workload experienced by employees and the factors that influence it. So that PMKP Kupang can determine the right steps to fix this. The method used in this research is NASA-TLX which is a method to find out how much mental workload is. From the result of the NASA-TLX calculation, the workload value of all employees is 80.6 (very high) with the largest mental workload indicator in PMKP Kupang is the Effort (EF) factor of 270.

Abstract

Sebelum dilepas ke lingkungan, air limbah domestik harus diolah dengan baik terlebih dahulu. Hal ini dikarenakan air limbah domestik masih mengandung bahan organik dan anorganik yang tinggi salah satunya yaitu nitrat.  Salah satu alternatif pengolahan yang dapat digunakan yaitu menggunakan Oxidation Ditch Algae Reactor (ODAR). Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perbandingan efektifitas mikroalga Chlorella Sp dan Spirulina Platensis dalam mendegradasi kandungan nitrat dan fosfat yang ada didalam air limbah domestik. Variasi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu variasi jenis mikroalga dan variasi perbandingan volume limbah dengan mikroalga (1:0 dan 1:2). Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam kondisi intermitten aerasi selama 5 hari. Hasil optimum penyisihan nitrat dan fosfat terjadi pada variasi perbandingan 1:2 menggunakan mikroalga berjenis Spirulina plantesis dengan persen penyisihan sebesar 80,24% dan 83,58%. Dari penelitian yang telah dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa mikroalga jenis Spirullina plantesis memiliki kemampuan yang lebih efektif untuk menyisihkan nitrat dan fosfat pada air limbah domestik apabila dibandingkan dengan mikroalga jenis Chlorella sp.

Abstract

Limbah cair domestik dapat mencemari lingkungan dan menimbulkan algae bloom. Bahan organik yang dihasilkan dari produk sampingan alga atau AOM dapat menyebabkan terjadinya pembentukan DBPs pada pengolahan. Penggunaan ODAR dalam penelitian bertujuan mengetahui kandungan organik aromatik dengan Chlorella sp. menggunakan uji UV254. Didapatkan hasil kenaikan nilai adsorbansi UV254 pada kedua variasi. Pada variasi 1:3 kondisi oksik mengalami kenaikan sebesar 325,83%, sedangkan pada variasi kondisi oksik-anoksik sebesar 163,01 %. Hal ini dapat disebabkan oleh adanya by-product yang dihasilkan oleh mikroalga Chlorella sp. dan terdapat EfOM yang berasal dari proses biologi yang dapat mengandung senyawa aromatik. Kandungan bahan organik aromatik tertinggi dihasilkan pada pengolahan dengan variasi kondisi oksik. Peningkatan nilai adsorbansi bahan aromatik tertinggi pada kondisi oksik, menunjukkan kondisi aerasi secara oksik dan oksik-anoksik pada variasi air limbah dan mikroalga 1:3 mampu meningkatkan kandungan senyawa aromatik.

Abstract

Perkembangan industri dewasa ini telah memberikan sumbangan besar terhadap perekonomian Indonesia. Tetapi, Pembangunan industri pada suatu lokasi dapat menimbulkan dampak biogeofisik kimia terhadap lingkungan. Untuk mencegah terjadinya pencemaran terhadap lingkungan diperlukan suatu instalasi pengolahan air limbah (IPAL) sehingga limbah yang dibuang ke lingkungan dapat memenuhi persyaratan baku mutu sebagai pengendalian terhadap pencemaran lingkungan. Tahapan proses pengolahan yang direncanakan guna memenuhi baku mutu buangan air limbah direncanakan beberapa tahapan pengolahan yaitu: unit bak ekualisasi, unit koagulasi-flokulasi, bak sedimentasi, unit aerasi sistem terlekat (MBBR), unit pengentalan lumpur (clarifier dan sludge thickener), dan pengeringan lumpur (SDB). Hasil efluen dari pengolahan tersebut direncanakan memenuhi Peraturan Gubernur Jawa Tengah Nomor 5 Tahun 2012 tentang Perubahan Perda Jateng No. 10 Tahun 2004 tentang Baku Mutu Air Limbah, dimana paramater utama memiliki 12 mg/l untuk TSS, 24 mg/l untuk BOD, 58 mg/l untuk COD dan 3 mg/l untuk Amonia.
