Abstract

The optimal utilization of fishery resources represents a strategic opportunity to improve the economic well-being of coastal communities. Bandar Negeri Village, located in Labuhan Maringgai District, East Lampung Regency, holds significant potential in milkfish processing. However, its use has so far been limited to fresh or minimally processed products. This community service activity aims to enhance local residents' skills in processing milkfish into value-added products, namely tofu meatball topping (TOBATO) and fish floss, to increase product value and create new business opportunities. The method used is the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, which focuses on strengthening community capacity through hands-on training and continuous mentoring. The results of the activity show improved participants' skills in milkfish processing, which led to increased product sales value and household income. In the long term, this program is expected to strengthen the village's economic independence and promote the sustainable use of fishery resources.

Abstract

The story of Qarun in Surah Al-Qasas (verses 76–83) contains profound moral lessons about the importance of gratitude for the blessings bestowed by Allah SWT. Qarun was a man granted immense wealth, yet he fell into arrogance, excessive love for worldly pleasures, and denial of Allah as the true source of his prosperity. As a result, he was destroyed—a fate that serves as a timeless warning for humanity. This study employs a tafsīr maqāṣidī (maqāṣid-based interpretation) approach to analyze Qarun’s character and the underlying Islamic legal values found in his story. This method emphasizes exploring the noble objectives of divine revelation, particularly three key aspects of maqāṣid al-sharīʿah: ḥifẓ al-dīn (preservation of religion), ḥifẓ al-nafs (preservation of life), and ḥifẓ al-māl (preservation of wealth). Qarun stands as a clear example of failure to uphold these values due to greed and pride. The story also highlights the principle of al-musāwah (equality), affirming that wealth and status are not measures of a person’s virtue in the sight of Allah—piety is. This message challenges the materialistic worldview that equates success with possessions. In today’s context, Qarun’s story is highly relevant as a critique of hedonism, consumerism, and social inequality. Qarun symbolizes moral collapse due to spiritual negligence and serves as a warning to manage worldly blessings ethically, responsibly, and in balance with both worldly and spiritual needs.

Abstract

The phenomenon of hoax dissemination in the digital era has become a serious challenge with far-reaching impacts on social stability, political dynamics, and religious life among Muslim communities. The Qur’an, as the holy scripture of Islam, offers fundamental principles for responding to information, particularly through verses that emphasize verification and caution, such as Q.S. al-Ḥujurāt [49]:6 and Q.S. al-Nūr [24]:15. This study aims to analyze the content of these two verses using the maqāṣidī tafsir approach as developed by Abdul Mustaqim, in order to uncover the substantial and contextual values of Islamic law. This research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive-analytical approach based on literature review from primary and secondary authoritative tafsir sources. The findings reveal that these verses encompass core values of maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah, including: ḥifẓ al-nafs (protection of life), ḥifẓ al-‘aql (protection of intellect), ḥifẓ al-dīn (protection of religion), ḥifẓ al-dawlah (protection of the state), and ḥurriyyah al-mas’ūliyyah (responsible freedom). These values are not only normative but also practical in addressing the challenges of modern disinformation. Thus, the maqāṣidī approach presents a relevant and solution-oriented methodology for shaping ethical media engagement and fostering responsible Islamic digital literacy in contemporary society.

Abstract

Leadership is a fundamental aspect of human civilization and a central theme in Islamic teachings. The Qur'an addresses various dimensions of leadership through terms such as khalīfah, imāmah, and ulū al-amr. This study aims to explore the concept of leadership in Islam by analyzing Qur’anic verse QS. al-Baqarah [2]:30 through the lens of tafsīr maqāṣidī as developed by Abdul Mustaqim, using Tafsīr al-Munīr by Wahbah al-Zuḥaylī as the primary interpretive source. Employing a qualitative library research method, this paper focuses on the linguistic, semantic, and thematic analysis of the verse to uncover ethical and spiritual values embedded in the Qur’anic discourse on leadership. The findings reveal that QS. al-Baqarah [2]:30 offers a comprehensive framework for Islamic leadership rooted in divine trust (amānah) and oriented toward achieving public benefit (maṣlaḥah). Through a maqāṣidī approach, the verse reflects key principles such as environmental stewardship (ḥifẓ al-bī’ah), protection of life (ḥifẓ al-nafs), and intellectual empowerment (ḥifẓ al-‘aql). These dimensions highlight the leader’s responsibility to preserve ecological balance, ensure human dignity, and promote education and critical thinking. The study concludes that Qur’anic leadership transcends political authority, emphasizing moral integrity, accountability, and alignment with the higher objectives of Islamic law. By contextualizing Qur’anic principles within contemporary challenges, this paper contributes to the development of a relevant, ethical, and sustainable model of Islamic leadership.

Abstract

Memorizing the Qur'an is a tradition that dates back to the time of the Prophet. Over time, this trend has gradually entered the realm of formal education. The Qur’an is the only holy book memorized by tens of millions of people. The quality of memorization is influenced by various factors, such as arithmetic thinking ability. Arithmetic thinking skills can help huffaz (those who memorize the Qur’an) calculate how long it will take to complete their memorization if they recite a certain number of pages daily, or determine how many pages must be memorized per day to meet a specific yearly target. The second factor is fluency in reading the Qur’an. The fluency level of huffaz in reading the Qur’an also affects the quality of their memorization. Another important factor is the learning environment. This study aims to identify and examine empirical data regarding the influence of arithmetic thinking ability, Qur’anic reading fluency, and learning environment on the memorization quality of Juz ‘Amma among PGMI UMALA students, both partially and simultaneously. The research sample consisted of 30 respondents from a total population of 236 PGMI UMALA students. Data collection methods included questionnaires, interviews, observations, and documentation. The analysis used was both statistical and descriptive.

Abstract

Abstract Lately the term insecure is being widely called, both among children, adolescents, and adults. Often feeling worried, sad and hopeless are attitudes that are often felt by individuals who are in the process of development. In the holy book revealed to the prophet Muhammad SAW. verses often appear that offend related to those feelings. and from these verses it is not permissible to feel things like that excessively. Therefore, the researcher will discuss why insecurity is prohibited in life. This research is classified as literature research, which is a qualitative method. And that approach is a thematic approach. The results of this study explain that feelings of insecurity (worry, sadness, and hopelessness) are something that is natural for every individual to have, but it may be prohibited if these feelings continue to increase, and affect the development of the individual. Because in life individuals can fall into two groups, individuals who are introverted (closed) and individuals who are extroverted (open), both of whom have their own way of surviving, but individuals who are included in the introverted category tend to be more difficult, and very vulnerable to experiencing feelings -those feelings. Feelings of insecurity not only harm oneself but also harm the people around them. Because humans will often experience excessive feelings of sadness if what they have done is not in accordance with the expectations they have dreamed of, and not a few also experience despair that makes individuals who fail do not want to repeat this, and will not develop because they are afraid something will happen. the same mistake or defeat.

Abstract

The growth of ideology is increasingly rapid and accompanied by a change of national issues, thus making humans think forward to create a solid national construction. The construction was built from two different elements, namely: religion and politics. This is in line with the idea of ??Almawardi in building a nation in accordance with the content of national verses in the Koran. In this study the researcher tried to describe the right national construction according to Almawardi. Furthermore, this study uses a qualitative approach with a type of library study (library reseach) and supported by descriptive methods, namely: Thematic method. The results of this study indicate that Almawardi has used religion as a barometer of politics of politics and a good relationship between the people (Ahlul Ikhtiyar) and the leader of the nation called Ahlul Imamat. The theory of social contracts was created to protect the articles of obligations and fulfill the rights of both. Keywords: Nationality, Qur'an, Almaward

Abstract

This study discusses the concept of living qur’an in the tradition of wedding ruwatan for children of sendhang kapit pancuran in Sidang Bandar Anom village, North Rawajitu District, Mesuji Regency, Lampung Province using Edmund Husserl’s Phenomenology approach. The researcher found that the tradition of wedding ruwatan for children of sendhang kapit pancuran in Sidang Bandar Anom village is a form of practicing the values of the qur’an (living qur’an) that are internalized in local culture. Through Husserl’s phenomenology approach, it is revealed that community interprets this ritual as a means of prayer, spiritual protection, and requests for safety and clessings in marriage. The most impertant finding is that the teachings of the qur’an are not only practiced normatively, but also brought to life in a contextual and meaningful cultural dimension for the local cummunity.

Abstract

Indonesia generates significant quantities of agricultural waste, including eggshells and rice husks, which often remain underutilized. This research-based community service project explores the innovative reuse of these materials—particularly rice husks—as eco-friendly components in the creation of calligraphy artworks. The objectives of the initiative were twofold: (1) to introduce and highlight the potential of eggshells and rice husks as sustainable, alternative materials for calligraphic art; and (2) to provide hands-on training on the practical techniques of producing calligraphy using eggshell fragments and rice husk-based paper. Utilizing the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, the project actively involved the El-Ka Lampung Calligraphy Studio community in Metro City, Lampung. The outcomes of the initiative included the successful production of calligraphy pieces that exhibited both aesthetic appeal and distinctive textures resulting from the incorporation of organic materials. Moreover, the project fostered greater community awareness of environmentally sustainable art practices and enhanced participants’ skills in utilizing local waste products creatively. This initiative demonstrates how integrating traditional art with ecological awareness can empower communities and promote sustainable cultural innovation.
