Abstract

This study investigates the relational semantics of the word nafaṡa as found in QS. al-Falaq: 4, using Toshihiko Izutsu’s semantic theory to uncover the conceptual and ideological framework embedded in Qur’anic discourse. Through a qualitative-descriptive method and close textual analysis, the research explores the lexical, syntactic, and contextual dimensions of nafaṡa, highlighting its function as more than a physical act of ‘blowing.’ The analysis reveals that nafaṡa serves as a semantic node within a network of oppositional concepts—namely al-syarr (evil), al-‘uqad (knots, internal constraints), and al-taḥṣīn (divine safeguarding)—forming part of the Qur’an’s spiritual cosmology. Far from being merely a linguistic unit, nafaṡa symbolizes a latent metaphysical threat that operates within the Qur’anic worldview and necessitates divine protection. The study contributes to Qur’anic linguistic scholarship by demonstrating how a single lexical item can encode complex ethical, psychological, and theological meanings when analyzed through relational semantics.

Abstract

Background: The rapid advancement of digital technology has encouraged the education sector to adopt various online learning platforms to support the teaching and learning process. Purpose: This study aims to determine the effects of using Google Classroom, Zoom Meeting, and Chromebook on students’ academic achievement in online learning at SMP Mitra Kerja Eduversal, as well as to identify which of these platforms is the most effective. Method: A quantitative approach was employed with a population of 140 students. The sample of 103 students was selected using proportional cluster random sampling and the Slovin formula. The research instruments were tested for validity and reliability, followed by assumption testing through normality and homogeneity tests. Data were collected through pretests and posttests, and analyzed using ANOVA.  Findings: The results show that the use of Google Classroom significantly improved students' academic achievement, as indicated by the difference between pretest and posttest scores. In contrast, the use of Zoom Meeting did not result in a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores, suggesting limited effectiveness. The use of Chromebooks showed a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores, though its effectiveness was still lower than that of Google Classroom. Therefore, it can be concluded that Google Classroom is the most effective online learning platform among the three in enhancing student achievement at SMP Mitra Kerja Eduversal.

Abstract

This study examines the role of inclusive Islamic education in countering radicalism among university students, focusing on their understanding of the Raḥmatan lil ‘Ālamīn (IRA) values. The IRA concept promotes compassion, tolerance, and dialogue. These values serve as a potential ideological counterweight to extremism. Using a quantitative survey method, data from 369 students were analysed through Pearson's correlation to examine the relationship between inclusive Islamic values and radical tendencies. The results revealed that the majority of students had internalised IRA values, demonstrating high levels of positive attitudes across all four domains. Pearson's correlation analysis revealed a significant negative correlation (p < 0.01) between IRA values and radical inclinations. This suggests that students who embrace moderate Islamic ethics are less vulnerable to extremist ideologies. Notably, tolerance and democratic values exhibited the strongest inverse relationships with fanatical and radical attitudes. These findings emphasise the importance of incorporating inclusive Islamic values into higher education curricula as a preventive measure against ideological radicalisation. By fostering environments that emphasise peace, pluralism, and civic responsibility, educational institutions can play a key role in promoting moderation and resilience against extremism among young people.

Abstract

This article examines vocabulary acquisition among young EFL learners. Various ways for vocabulary instruction have faced challenges concerning interest and retention, leading instructors to explore interactive learning methods to enhance vocabulary acquisition significantly. The instructional activities utilized games, songs, films, and narratives to augment intrinsic motivation and contextualize language application that can enhance vocabulary retention and conversational abilities. The study comprises three weekly educational sessions that utilize diverse multimedia materials to maintain learner interest and improve learning outcomes. Results indicate significant progress in vocabulary acquisition, demonstrating the successful utilization of interactive learning tools. These findings offer significant insights into practical implications for enhancing EFL teaching among young learners and lay the groundwork for future study on long-term vocabulary retention. This study provides insights for instructors seeking to adopt more engaging pedagogical practices and improve language learning experiences for young learners.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology has profoundly influenced family parenting styles, especially in managing the growing threats of digital-age juvenile delinquency, such as online gambling, sexting, and illegal loan practices. Despite this, many parents still face limitations in both knowledge and digital skills, making it difficult to guide and supervise their children's online activities effectively. This community engagement initiative was designed to enhance parental awareness and understanding of digital parenting. Conducted in Bometen Hamlet, Ngandong Village, Gantiwarno Subdistrict, Gunung Kidul Regency, the program applied a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach. A total of 30 participants—16 parents and 14 adolescents—were actively involved in four stages: observation, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The evaluation outcomes revealed a significant improvement in both awareness and comprehension of digital risks. Adolescents demonstrated a 66% increase in awareness and a 41% improvement in understanding, while parents showed a 33% rise in awareness and a 61% gain in understanding. These findings highlight the effectiveness of participatory educational strategies in building stronger digital parenting capacity and fostering more adaptive and communicative family environments in the face of technological change.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran dan kepedulian masyarakat Padukuhan Karangpadang terhadap masalah bullying melalui program edukasi anti-bullying. Program ini terdiri dari tiga tahapan utama: observasi, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Tahap observasi dilakukan untuk memahami kondisi awal pemahaman masyarakat mengenai bullying melalui wawancara. Pada tahap pelaksanaan, metode dialog interaktif digunakan untuk menyampaikan materi edukasi, yang meliputi definisi bullying, jenis-jenis bullying, dampak bullying, strategi pencegahan, dan konsekuensi tindakan bullying bagi korban dan pelaku. Materi disampaikan oleh Bapak Ahmad Syauqi Hidayatullah, seorang narasumber berpengalaman dalam bidang pendidikan. Tahap evaluasi dilakukan dengan penyebaran angket sebelum dan sesudah program untuk mengukur perubahan pemahaman dan sikap peserta. Hasil analisis deskriptif menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan dalam pengetahuan dan kesadaran masyarakat mengenai bullying. Program ini berhasil mendorong partisipasi aktif dan kolaborasi komunitas dalam upaya pencegahan bullying, serta menciptakan lingkungan yang lebih aman dan ramah di Padukuhan Karangpadang.

Abstract

Abstract:This study aims to determine the extent to which the intensity of using the internet as online literature influences students' plagiarism behavior. This research is classified as quantitative research using a questionnaire instrument distributed to 65 students of University of Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa Class of 2022-2023 as respondents selected through random sampling. In analyzing and calculating the field data, the researcher employed tests for validity, reliability, normality, and linearity of data, as well as hypothesis testing using regression and correlation analysis. The research findings indicate that the intensity level of students towards the internet as online literature falls into the moderate category with a score of 59.22%, while the plagiarism rate is 42.69% categorized as low. However, the obtained significance level is 0.140 > 0.005, indicating insignificance, meaning there is no significant correlation between the two variables, although there is a correlation coefficient value of 0.185 classified as very low correlation. The coefficient of determination is 3.4%, indicating that 97.6% of the variance is influenced by other variables.Keywords:Internet, Online Literature, Plagiarism Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar tingkat intensitas dalam menggunakan internet sebagai literatute online dalam mempengaruhi perilaku plagiarisme mahasiswa. Penelitian ini termasuk pada penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan instrumen angket yang disebar pada 65 mahasiswa UST Angkatan 2022-2023 sebagai responden yang diambil secara random (random sampling), dalam menganalisa serta menghitung data hasil lapangan, peneliti menggunakan uji validitas realibilitas, uji normalitas dan linieritas data serta uji hipotesis dengan menggunakan uji regresi dan korelasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat intensitas mahasiswa terhadap internet sebagai literatur online dalam kategori sedang dengan skor 59,22%, dengan tingkat plagiarisme sebesar 42,69 % dengan kategori rendah, sedangkan tingkat signifikasi yang didapat sebesar 0,140 > 0,005 maka dikatakan tidak signifikan, yang artinya tidak adanya korelasi yang signifikan di antara kedua variabel, meski terdapat nilai koefesien korelasi sebesar 0,185 dengan kategori tingkat korelasi sangat rendah, dengan nilai koefesien determinasi sebesar 3,4 % sedangkan 97,6% sisanya dipengaruhi oleh variabel lain.Kata Kunci: Internet, Literatur Online, Plagiarisme

Abstract

Kenakalan remaja yang mencakup praktik judi online, pinjaman online ilegal (pinjol), dan seks bebas merupakan permasalahan sosial yang semakin mengkhawatirkan serta menjadi ancaman serius bagi perkembangan remaja dan ketahanan keluarga. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan kepedulian remaja serta orang tua terhadap dampak negatif dari perilaku tersebut melalui pendekatan edukasi berbasis keluarga. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di RW 08, Dukuh Bometen, Desa Ngandong, Kecamatan Gantiwarno, Kabupaten Klaten. Metode yang digunakan meliputi penyuluhan dan diskusi interaktif dalam bentuk forum dialog antar generasi yang dirancang untuk mendorong partisipasi aktif serta komunikasi terbuka antara remaja dan orang tua. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 30 partisipan yang terdiri atas 14 remaja dan 16 orang tua. Evaluasi kegiatan dilakukan menggunakan instrumen pretest dan posttest, kemudian dianalisis dengan uji Wilcoxon Signed Ranks untuk mengukur perubahan tingkat pemahaman dan kepedulian peserta. Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan pada aspek pemahaman dan kepedulian baik pada kelompok remaja (p = 0,001) maupun kelompok orang tua (p = 0,000 untuk pemahaman dan p = 0,001 untuk kepedulian). Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan edukatif berbasis keluarga dengan melibatkan interaksi lintas generasi efektif dalam membangun kesadaran kolektif mengenai bahaya kenakalan remaja digital. Program ini merekomendasikan penguatan literasi keluarga sebagai strategi preventif jangka panjang dalam melindungi remaja dari pengaruh negatif lingkungan digital.

Abstract

Smoking and secondhand exposure provide significant health and economic issues in environments where indoor smoking is prevalent. This Community Service-Oriented (PkM) research aims to: 1) identify the level of knowledge, attitudes, and commitment in Dusun Ngargosoko Wetan concerning smoking hazards before and after the implementation of a cigarette smoke-free home PkM program; and 2) investigate how the initiative can enhance family health, fortify socio-religious cohesion, and alleviate economic burdens in low-income households. This community service-oriented research utilized a defined Participatory Action Research (PAR) cycle (planning → action → reflection → revision) to collaboratively create and implement a full-day intervention for 40 intentionally selected residents (25 adult men, predominantly fathers/young adults, 15 adolescents). The majority of participating homes had children and reported low to moderate incomes. Pre/post questionnaires assessed knowledge, attitudes, and household regulations; enabled small-group conversations incorporating socio-religious messages and generated family commitments. Quantitative analyses (SPSS v26; R v4.2) employed paired t-tests for continuous variables. A community-led three-month follow-up was scheduled to evaluate enduring change. The results indicate that the average knowledge improved from 62.5 to 81.3, reflecting a 30% relative improvement (paired t-test, p < .01). Post-event commitments: 65% embraced smoke-free household promises, 25% aimed to decrease smoking, 10% remained unchanged. The implementation of PAR cycles and socio-religious framing yielded immediate, substantial benefits and created local monitoring systems to facilitate long-term sustainability and policy adoption.
