Abstract

This study aims to design an electromagnetic train learning media based on a mini-laboratory and test the feasibility of this media in explaining the concept of magnetic electricity in the subtopic of electromagnetic induction. This research is an engineering study. The design of this device consists of three main components: a neodymium magnet 12x5 mm, a non-insulated enamel copper wire 1 mm, and a 1.2 V eneloop battery. The device's validity was assessed in terms of content, media, and device feasibility, which was evaluated by two lecturers, three teachers, and two colleagues using a questionnaire distribution technique. The data analysis technique used in this research is the descriptive analysis technique. Based on the questionnaire results from the experts, an average score of 88.46% was obtained for all assessment aspects, indicating a "very good" rating. Thus, the electromagnetic train media is suitable as a physics learning media to explain the concept of magnetic electricity based on a mini laboratory.

Abstract

The negative effects of increased radiation dose can impact healthy tissue surrounding the target area, necessitating careful management to minimize side effects and meticulous planning in radiation therapy. This study aims to determine the peripheral dose of a 6 MV photon beam and compare the measured values with the estimates from the Treatment Planning System (TPS). Dose calculations were performed using the Analytical Anisotropic Algorithm (AAA) in the ECLIPSETM TPS on a virtual water phantom with a 6 MV photon beam, delivered by a Clinac CX linear accelerator (LINAC) at Unand Hospital. Photons were used with variations in target depth of 1.5, 5, and 10 cm, as well as variations in measuring distances of 3, 5, 7, 10, and 15 cm outside the irradiation field. The area of irradiation used varied of 5×5 and 10×10 cm2. The measurement results based on the distance of the field edge showed that the dose percentage decreased below 10% when passing a distance of 5 cm for a field area of 5×5 cm2, and for a field area of 10×10 cm2, the dose percentage decreased below 10% after passing a distance of 7 cm from the edge of the irradiation field. The peripheral dose intensity in the area outside the target will decrease along with the increasing measurement distance from the edge of the field and the depth due to the interaction of radiation with the medium, which causes the spread and absorption of photons in the medium.

Abstract

Nagari Sunua Barat memiliki potensi limbah sabut kelapa hasil perkebunan kelapa yang melimpah. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberdayakan kelompok tani di Nagari Sunua Barat melalui pelatihan pengolahan limbah sabut kelapa menjadi cocopeat dan cocofiber, yang lebih memiliki nilai ekonomis dan ramah lingkungan. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilakukan oleh tim dari Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam, dimulai dengan tahap perencanaan yang melibatkan mitra kelompok tani untuk mengidentifikasi kebutuhan dan potensi yang ada pada mitra. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 47 peserta yang berasal dari kelompok tani dan masyarakat yang ada di Nagari Sunua Barat. Peserta diajarkan tentang pengelolaan sampah limbah sabut kelapa, yang dimanfaatkan menjadi cocopeat dan cocofiber. Metode yang digunakan meliputi demonstrasi, praktik langsung, dan diskusi interaktif. Hasil dari kegiatan menunjukkan antusiasme yang tinggi dari peserta. Sebagian besar mampu memahami dan mempraktikkan teknik yang diajarkan, dengan beberapa peserta mulai memproduksi cocopeat dan cocofiber untuk keperluan pribadi maupun komersial. Pelatihan ini berhasil meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat akan pentingnya pengelolaan limbah yang berkelanjutan serta memberikan peluang ekonomi baru bagi kelompok tani. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi langkah awal untuk menjadikan Nagari Sunua Barat sebagai sentra pengolahan limbah sabut kelapa, sekaligus mendorong terciptanya masyarakat yang lebih peduli lingkungan dan mandiri secara ekonomi

Abstract

Research has been conducted on Green Synthesis of copper nanoparticles using gambir leaf extract (Uncaria gambir Roxb) for Dye Sensitized Solar Cell. This study aims to determine the effect of the comparison of molar ratio variations (Cu(NO₃)₂) with gambir leaf extract through green synthesis of copper nanoparticles and I-V test of DSSC produced from copper nanoparticles through green synthesis. Sample preparation was carried out using the green synthesis method with the ratio of gambier leaf extract to (Cu(NO₃)₂) in sample variations of 1:1, 1:2, 1:3, 1:4 and 1:5. Copper nanoparticles were characterized using UV-Vis spectroscopy to determine the absorbance value and energy band gap and DSSC measured using a simple I-V test. UV-Vis spectrophotometer results on copper nanoparticles showed absorbance peaks in the 377 nm - 396 nm wavelength range, and obtained energy band gap values ranging from 2.84-2.91 eV. The resulting copper nanoparticles are round to elongated, due to the phenomenon of aggregation between particles. The efficiency obtained from DDSC is 4.26% and the FF value is 0.56.

Abstract

Copper nanoparticle (CuNP)-based thin films have great potential in various technological applications, such as electronics, catalysts, and sensors, due to their high conductivity value and enhanced surface reactivity. This study aims to fabricate CuNP-based thin films using the spraying method, which is known to be efficient for material deposition on substrates. In the spraying process, copper nanoparticles are sprayed on a transparent glass substrate and dried at room temperature to form a homogeneous thin layer. Characterization of the thin films using UV-Vis spectrophotometer to determine the energy band gap and transmittance value. The results of testing the energy band gap of copper nanoparticles with a ratio of 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 amounted to 3.03 eV, 3.09 eV, 3.11 eV, 3.17 eV and 3.25 eV. Meanwhile, the transmittance test results show that the percentage of thin layer transmittance ranges from 20% to 90% with good crystal quality and a smaller energy band gap that has high electrical conductivity so that the thin layer produced has a decent quality to be applied to printed electronic devices.

Abstract

Laboratorium adalah fasilitas penting dalam pembelajaran fisika di sekolah yang berperan dalam meningkatkan minat dan motivasi siswa untuk mempelajari fisika. Aktivitas di laboratorium umumnya berupa kegiatan praktikum atau demonstrasi. Agar laboratorium dapat berfungsi optimal sebagai media pembelajaran fisika, pengelolaannya perlu direncanakan dengan baik. Berdasarkan hasil observasi di beberapa SMA di Sumatera Barat, ditemukan bahwa banyak laboratorium kurang dikelola dengan baik sehingga keberadaannya tidak efektif. Siswa jarang diajak untuk praktikum, dan peralatan yang sudah disediakan oleh Dinas Pendidikan sering kali jarang digunakan, sehingga banyak yang rusak karena tidak terpakai. Tata letak dan fasilitas laboratorium sering kali kurang rapi dan belum diinventarisasi dengan baik. Guru fisika mengalami kendala dalam melaksanakan praktikum karena tidak tersedia modul atau buku panduan. Akibatnya, kegiatan praktikum yang seharusnya dilakukan di laboratorium kini hanya dilaksanakan di kelas dengan peralatan yang terbatas, sehingga potensi laboratorium tidak dimanfaatkan sepenuhnya. Atas dasar masalah-masalah ini, tim Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) melakukan pembinaan pengelolaan laboratorium fisika di SMAN 2 Sipora untuk mendukung kelancaran kegiatan praktikum dan proses pembelajaran. Tahapan kegiatan PKM meliputi: 1) Sosialisasi tentang pengelolaan laboratorium, 2) Pengembangan Laboratorium Percontohan Implementasi Merdeka Belajar, 3) Diskusi pembuatan alat-alat praktikum sederhana, 4) Diskusi pembuatan modul atau buku panduan praktikum, dan 5) Monitoring awal serta lanjutan di SMAN 2 Sipora.
