Abstract

Human resources are a crucial asset for organizations, as their competence and professionalism greatly influence employee performance and the achievement of organizational objectives. At the MKG Office of Region III, several performance issues have been identified, including skill mismatches, high absenteeism rates as an indicator of low professionalism, and limited adaptability to information technology systems. These challenges underscore the need for strategic human resource development. This study aims to analyze the impact of competence and professionalism on employee performance, with information technology mastery serving as a mediating variable. A quantitative research approach was applied, involving all 115 employees as respondents through questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. Path analysis was used to evaluate the relationships between the variables. The findings reveal that both competence and professionalism have a positive and significant influence on employee performance. Furthermore, these variables also positively affect information technology mastery, which in turn significantly improves performance. The analysis demonstrates that information technology mastery mediates the relationship between competence and professionalism with employee performance, indicating the importance of digital skills in modern workplaces. In conclusion, enhancing competence and professionalism, alongside strengthening information technology mastery, is essential for improving employee performance at the MKG Office of Region III. The study recommends implementing strategic human resource programs that focus on digital proficiency to support organizational effectiveness and adaptability in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of credit policy on the financial performance of national banking companies in Indonesia, focusing on how credit policies influence factors such as profitability, financial stability, and liquidity. A quantitative approach is used in this research, with secondary data obtained from published financial reports of national banks, as well as data from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and Bank Indonesia (BI). The data analysis technique employed is linear regression to examine the relationship between credit policy and financial ratios, including Non-Performing Loans (NPL), Return on Assets (ROA), Return on Equity (ROE), and the Operating Expenses to Operating Income ratio (BOPO) over the period 2015–2022. The results show that the credit policies implemented by banks have a significant impact on profitability, with an average ROA of 2.4% and ROE reaching 12.5%. Moreover, poor credit risk management was found to increase the NPL ratio to 3.2% and lower the banks’ financial performance. Meanwhile, a positive relationship between sound credit risk management and bank liquidity can be observed through the BOPO ratio, which stands at around 75%, indicating operational efficiency. Based on these findings, it is recommended that banks improve their credit risk policies to enhance their performance and financial stability.

Abstract

Scientific literacy is essential in improving students' skills to deal with the rapid development of science and technology. This quantitative descriptive research aims to: obtain information about the scientific literacy skills of prospective elementary school teacher students in hybrid learning with a STEM approach at a university in Indonesia. The sampling technique in this research applied convenience sampling involving 101 students of semester two as the subjects. The scientific literacy of primary school teacher candidates was collected using a self-developed, multiple-choice questionnaire following the scientific literacy competence of PISA, and it has been validated, achieving a score of 3.50 (perfect category). The results of this research show that scientific literacy of the 2nd-semester students of the primary elementary school teacher department is categorized as low with an average value of competency one is 53.96% (low category), competency 2 is 56.19% (low category), and competency 3 of 63.61% (medium category) so that the overall average of the three competencies is 57.92% (low category). Following up on the findings of this research, the scientific literacy of primary school teacher candidates in hybrid learning with a STEM approach can be further optimized by paying attention to the design of lesson plans, learning modules, and the implementation of a STEM-based learning approach.

Abstract

This study analysed the influence of market orientation and product innovation capability on product competitiveness to improve marketing performance on clay handicraft products in Bali-Indonesia during the Covid-19 pandemic. New insights were offered to the research subjects of clay craftsmen, and in previous studies this type of sample was rarely considered. We studied the relationships of all the variables involved. Empirical evidence was conveyed through a survey involving 60 SMEs as a saturated sample, using a PLS-based SEM as analysis tool. The results show that all direct relationships of variables are proven to be significantly positive, except that product innovation capability has a significant negative impact on marketing performance. The character of the clay craft industry has a uniqueness that was not previously thought of. The greater the ability to produce new innovation seems to have an unfavourable impact on sales of previous innovations. The unique characteristics of the industry disturbed by the Covid-19 situation adds to the narrowness of the market. A market expansion strategy is needed by developing the character of the product from pure artistic nature to decorative decoration into a combination with functionality. To achieve this goal, it is apparently constrained by the limited demographic characteristics and competence of SMEs to innovate. Originality/value; analysing innovation based on three characteristics, namely artistic, symbolic and functional, as an important variable in the clay industry in relation to consumer behaviour. The three proposed analysis based on the characteristics of product innovation had never been studied in previous studies
