Abstract

This research discusses about slow learner that has an obstacle in obtaining information for the students due to differentiate in learning styles and learning materials as well as the arrest of one individual to the others. This research presents the data from the A (8) who studies at SDN 3 Ambulu, Losari, Cirebon. The researchers use Research and Development with quantitative single object approach which is supported by experimental method that the researchers gave the treatment to enhance the abilities of A (8) such as read, write and count using Audio Lingual Method (ALM) for learning with instruments that provides the development from A in this treatment. The treatment for A (8) was success to be implemented for A (8). So, in this research the researchers will only deliver the treatment that help A (8) to enhance reading, writing and counting abilities that is relevance with A (8) as a Slow Learner in the guidance and counseling perspective.

Abstract

One of the problem of students that learning language especially forEnglish subject is the less of vocabulary which they have. In thispaper, researcher will conducted a research that use think-pair-sharein the class, which is may help students to get more English words.Researcher also use inspiring videos to increase their motivation tolearn English more. This research, use qualitative approach withpreliminary research method to gathered the data from previousstudy, field observation and also from interview students and teacherin the end of the class activity. This preliminary research wasconducted at SMAN 1 Pabedilan, Cirebon. In this research,researcher take two classes in tenth grade, MIA 1 and MIA 3.Researcher took 10 students of each class of MIA 1 and MIA 3. Theresult are students feel bored during the class, students feel they cannot mastery the English well, etc. For the teacher, using anothermodel, method or strategy is not really important to do. In thisresearch, researcher will conduct the use of Think-Pair-Share in theclassroom, perhaps with inspiring videos can make languageacquisition of students increase and for students motivation to learnEnglish either.

Abstract

In this digital era, translation has undergone a radical paradigmatic shift from traditional to automated practices in terms of technological, pedagogical, empirical and economic perspectives, such as the emergence of Machine Translation (MT). Unfortunately, scrutiny accentuating the evaluation of GT output in the English-Indonesian translation setting remains under-researched. Hence, this study aimed at poring over how the English-Indonesian translation in a selected chapter of Ferreira’s critical theory was represented from the GT output. The corpus of this study was a selected chapter of a book entitled International Relations Theory edited by Stephen McGlinchey, Rosie Walters and Christian Scheinpflug (McGlinchey, et. al., 2017), namely chapter 6 in part 1 Critical Theory (Marcos Farias Ferreira) (Ferreira, 2017). The corpus was collected through document analysis and analyzed with Baker’s translation equivalence framework (Baker, 2018) and thematic analysis (TA) (Braun & Clarke, 2006). The findings unveiled that GT output represented English-Indonesian translation in five prominent themes, viz. inappropriate word level equivalence, grammatical equivalence and lexical cohesion in the English-Indonesian translated text, decontextualized pragmatic equivalence in Indonesian as the target language, syntactically disordered English-Indonesian translated words, literally translated Indonesian as the target language, and accepted equivalence of English-Indonesian translation. Pedagogically, this study suggests that a combination strategy of GT-based translation and human translation can be a breakthrough to reach the translation quality, namely accuracy, naturalness and readability.

Abstract

Increasing literacy among high school students is becoming increasingly important in today's information age, especially in mastering critical and accurate journalistic skills. However, many students still lack practical training in this field. This study aims to improve the literacy insight of students at SMA Negeri 1 Pabedilan, Cirebon Regency through structured journalism training assistance. This training program includes news writing, interviews, and article editing, and emphasizes journalistic ethics and information responsibility. The method used is Community-Based Research (CBR), which involves students, teachers, and schools in designing and implementing training in July - August 2023. Students are directly involved in the journalistic process, from data collection to news publishing, with guidance and feedback from experts. Evaluation is carried out through observation and assessment of student work results, as well as interviews to assess changes in their understanding and journalistic skills. The results of the training showed a significant increase in students' news writing, interviewing, and editing skills. In addition, their understanding of journalistic ethics and ability to analyze news also increased. This program succeeded in motivating students to be more involved in journalistic activities outside the classroom. In conclusion, this practice-based journalism training is effective in improving high school students' journalism literacy and can be used as a model for similar training programs in the future.

Abstract

This research investigates the transformative impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on education and social development through individual empowerment. Leveraging a systematic literature review approach, the study examines the multifaceted implications of AI integration in educational and social contexts, with a specific focus on its role in personalized learning, access to education, and socio-economic empowerment. The findings underscore the significant advancements facilitated by AI technologies in enhancing educational outcomes, increasing access to quality education for marginalized populations, and promoting socio-economic mobility. However, the research also highlights the importance of addressing ethical considerations, algorithmic bias, and equitable access to ensure that the benefits of AI are equitably distributed across diverse populations. Moving forward, future research directions include interdisciplinary studies, longitudinal analyses, comparative research across different socio-cultural contexts, and participatory approaches to inform the development of inclusive and sustainable AI solutions that empower individuals and promote social justice.

Abstract

As technology advances in the education sector, there are many updates in the use of learning media, one example is using the Quizizz application. The Quizizz application really helps teachers in the teaching and learning process. The Quizizz application has many interesting features, and makes learning more fun. The quizizz application is one of the learning media chosen by teachers to carry out the learning process for early childhood. The aim of this research is to find out how big the impact of quizizz learning media is in increasing early childhood interest and motivation in learning. This research uses a qualitative method where data is obtained through introducing the Quizizz application to young children and direct interviews with several parties such as teachers and parents of children. The research results show that the use of the Quizizz application in early childhood is carried out well starting from the planning, implementation and evaluation stages. From this research, it can be concluded that the Quizzizz application is very helpful in the children's learning process so that children understand the lessons taught by the teacher more quickly and the interesting features can also increase children's learning motivation. The limitation of this research is that the researcher only conducted research on the quizizz application for early childhood even though there are still many applications that can be used to provide learning motivation for early childhood. The researcher hopes that future researchers can conduct research related to early childhood learning motivation but by using other learning media. This research recommends that future researchers use the research as a reference in conducting research on the impact of the Quizizz application in increasing learning motivation in young children.

Abstract

Penguasaan bahasa Inggris sudah menjadi suatu kebutuhan masyarakat luas. Melalui Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini sebagai lembaga pendidikan yang paling awal. Pengembangan kosakata bahasa Inggris dimulai dari yng paling dasar yaitu dengan memperkenalkan kosakata bahasa Inggris. Guru sebagai tenaga pendidik harus sadar dan paham tentang pentingnya menciptakan proses pembelajaran sesuai dengan tingkat perkembangan anak. Metode pembelajaran bahasa asing kepada anak usia dini tentu berbeda cara dengan usia remaja. Anak perlu diajarkan dengan cara yang menyenangkan, sesuai dengan prinsip pembelajaran anak usia dini. Metode permainan adalah salah satu cara yang tepat dalam mengajarkan kosakata bahasa Inggris kepada anak usia dini. Sebab bermain merupakan sarana belajar bagi anak. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan pendekatan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas.Yang mana, melalui data-data relevan yang terkait dengan pokok pembahasan, peneliti mengumpulkan, mengelompokan, mengolah data hingga menghasilkan suatu kesimpulan baru. Dalam hal ini permainan Spin game yang dimodifikasi sesuai dengan kebutuhan pembelajaran berpengaruh baik dalam perkenalan kosakata bahasa Inggris kepada anak usia dini.

Abstract

Background: In the 21st century, the use of technology among children has grown rapidly, making screen time an essential aspect of their language development.Aim: This study aims to explore the impact of exposure to English-language cartoons on the language abilities of preschool children, specifically for S, a 5-year-old child.Method: The research method used is qualitative, employing observation and interview techniques involving S's parents and caregivers as subjects. Data were collected through direct observation and in-depth interviews to understand S's parenting patterns and the use of screen time in daily life. This study offers a new perspective by exploring the impact of unintentional exposure to English-language media as an innovative language acquisition strategy, particularly in the context of early childhood in Indonesia, where similar studies are scarce.Results: The research results indicate that although S experiences speech delays, exposure to English-language cartoons through screen time positively contributes to the development of their English language skills. Interventions by the parents, such as bilingual communication and speech therapy, have accelerated the improvement of these language skills.Conclusion: This study concludes that directed media exposure, supported by active parental involvement, can enhance children's language skills despite initial challenges. Thus, the study emphasizes the importance of effective supervision and management of screen time to support optimal language development.

Abstract

The Effect of introducing artificial intelligence games on Increasing English vocabulary in children. This quantitative research aims to enhance lexical knowledge in young learners aged 5 to 6 Wildatun Nisa Islamic Kindergarten through artificial intelligence games monster vocab website. The subjects were 10 group B children, 5 girls and 5 boys. Methods for gathering data included observing and recording I, the average value of vocabulary improvement reached 41.3%. In cycle II, the average value increased to 63.3%. This increase shows that the introduction of the AI vocabulary animal website has a significant effect on improving English vocabulary. In addition to vocabulary improvement, this study also showed that the introduction of AI vocabulary animal website increased children's interest in learning, critical thinking skills, communication skills, along with learners’ motivation. The research shows that the introduction of AI vocabulary animal website can help children's language development and increase English vocabulary in children aged 5-6 years at Wildatun Nisa Islamic Kindergarten
