Abstract

Teenage marriage can have an impact on both physical and biological aspects. Teenage pregnancy will be at greater risk of anemia and bleeding which will contribute to maternal and infant mortality rates. In terms of education, pregnant teenagers will lose the opportunity to continue their education to a higher level. The goal of PkM is the Maturation of Marriage Age to postpone the age of marriage to over 18 years, with an ideal age of 25 years for men and 21 years for women and stimulate creativity and apply interesting methods for target groups, create positive changes in the views and behavior of the younger generation, and build a more prosperous society by encouraging mature marriage. The method used in PkM activities is socialization and mentoring for the implementation of the marriage age maturity program in the Manisa youth organization, Baranti sub-district. The results of community service are that adolescent problems that occur in society have difficulty in handling early marriage. Communication built within the family is still very minimal. The conclusion of this activity is that the level of achievement of the output targets in this community service activity is in accordance with what was planned and the program that has been scheduled by the PkM TEAM.

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between clean and healthy living behavior and diarrhea in elementary school students. The research method used was analytical study research with stratified random sampling, The results of the study stated that there was no diarrhea and good clean and healthy living behavior were 16 respondents (29.1%), while respondents who stated diarrhea and poor clean and healthy living behavior were 39 (70.9%). From the statistical results using the Chi Square statistical test with a degree of significance α = 0.05, a p value of 0.00 was obtained, this indicates that the p value <α, so it is concluded that the hypothesis (Hα) is accepted and the hypothesis (H0) is rejected. This means that there is a relationship between clean and healthy living behavior and diarrhea in elementary school students. The conclusion shows that there is a relationship between clean and healthy living behavior and diarrhea in elementary school students.

Abstract

Urban slums often face serious drinking water quality challenges due to poor sanitation facilities and waste management, which contribute to high public health risks. This study aimed to analyze the environmental health determinants, including access to clean water, sanitation facilities and waste management practices, on drinking water quality based on physical, chemical and microbiological indicators. The study used a quantitative research design with a correlational approach, involving five urban slums as the study population. Data were collected through field observation and water quality testing, then analyzed using Pearson correlation test and multiple linear regression. The results showed that access to clean water had a significant negative relationship with microbial contamination levels (r = -0.899, p < 0.05). In addition, sanitation facilities and waste management practices significantly influenced drinking water quality, with areas with better facilities showing better water quality. However, discrepancies in microbiological indicators were found across areas, indicating the need for integrated interventions. This study confirms the importance of improved sanitation infrastructure, community education and water management in addressing water quality challenges in slums. The implications of this study can serve as a foundation for more effective policy making in environmental and public health management.

Abstract

Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) is one of the promotive and preventive efforts in the field of public health. Densely populated areas are vulnerable to various health problems due to density and limited sanitation facilities. This community service aims to improve understanding and practice of PHBS through health education activities. Activity methods include counseling, demonstrations, and mentoring involving the local community. The results of the activities show increased knowledge and positive behavioral changes in aspects of personal hygiene, waste management, and use of clean water. Health education has proven effective as an initial approach in forming a society that is aware of the importance of clean and healthy living.

Abstract

Smoking is one of the risky behaviors that often begins in adolescence. Although information about the dangers of smoking is increasingly widespread, smoking behavior is still a fairly high phenomenon among students, including high school students. This study aims to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge about the dangers of smoking and smoking behavior among high school students in an area. The research method used is quantitative with a cross-sectional approaches . The sample in this study amounted to 150 students from three high schools selected purposively. Data were collected through questionnaires that have been tested for validity and reliability. The results showed that most students had a good level of knowledge (58%), but smoking behavior was still quite high (40%). Statistical tests showed a significant relationship between the level of knowledge and smoking behavior (p <0.05). It can be concluded that good knowledge does not always guarantee healthy behavior if it is not supported by other factors such as the environment, peers, and parental supervision. A comprehensive approach is needed through ongoing health education and the involvement of all parties to reduce the number of smokers among adolescents.

Abstract

Background: Many elementary school children in Indonesia still do not meet balanced nutrition guidelines, as evidenced by low fruit and vegetables consumption and high consumption of fast food. This can impact their nutritional status and long-term health. Objective: To determine the effect of a balanced nutrition health promotion program on changes in elementary school children's eating patterns. Methods: A quasi-experimental study with a pretest-posttest control group design was conducted on 80 fourth-fifth grade elementary school students in Regency X. The sample was divided into an intervention group (n=40) and a control group (n=40). The intervention consisted of health promotion through interactive lectures, posters, and educational games for four weeks. Data were collected using a Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ). Data were analyzed using paired t- tests and independent t-tests. Results: There was a significant increase in healthy eating patterns in the intervention group after health promotion (p<0.05), particularly in vegetables and fruit consumption and a decrease in fast food consumption. There was no significant change in the control group (p>0.05). Conclusion: The balanced nutrition health promotion program has been positive impact on the eating habits of elementary school children. It is recommended that schools integrate nutrition promotion into the curriculum and extracurricular activities for sustainability.

Abstract

The current policy that regulates clean and healthy living behavior is the Republic of Indonesia Minister of Health Regulation Number 2269/Menkes/Per/XI/2011 concerning guidelines for fostering clean and healthy living behavior. Clean and healthy living behavior is a government priority program through community health centers and is an output target in implementing health development. The lowest coverage of healthy households in the Manisa Health Center Working Area is in the existing Manisa Village. The aim of the research is to determine the management of implementing clean and healthy living behavior in the household setting. This type of research is qualitative research. The informants for this research, managers of the community health center's clean and healthy living behavior program, community health center leaders, cadres, community leaders, religious leaders and the public, were taken using purposive sampling. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews, documentation review and Focus Group Discussions. The results of the research showed problems with the input component, the health promotion staff at the community health center had never received training, the funding allocation was very small, and the supporting facilities for Promkes were limited to print media. In the process, planning has not been implemented in an integrated manner, the organization and implementation of health promotions has not been carried out optimally, and monitoring is only based on the results of surveys of household clean and healthy living behavior. It is known that the output component of implementing clean and healthy living behavior in household management is still below the target. Implementation of management of clean and healthy living behavior in household arrangements is not as expected. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the quality of implementing staff, allocate funds and infrastructure, as well as improve management in implementing clean and healthy living behavior in the household structure.
