Abstract

Community Service Program with the title: "Socialization and Training on Bamboo Weaving Crafts for the Karang Taruna Group in the Wawoosu Village, Kolono Sub-District, South Konawe Regency" aims to enhance the knowledge and skills of the Karang Taruna group in making bamboo crafts as an effort to create new job opportunities, particularly in the utilization of bamboo as an economically valuable craft. To achieve this, the service team conducts both socialization and training activities for the Karang Taruna group by carrying out socialization about bamboo processing as a weaving craft in this era, followed by training activities to enhance their skills. This is done considering the limited knowledge and skills of the younger generation in utilizing natural resources and the lack of innovation in making bamboo weaving crafts at market value. This service activity is carried out directly at the service location, starting from the identification of problems, workshops related to problem findings, socialization, and promotion of the bamboo processing industri, followed by collaborative production of one of the bamboo processing products, namely bamboo curtains. This activity has received a positive response and has been attended by the Karang Taruna group from the beginning to the end of the program. The socialization activities are focused on increasing the knowledge of the Karang Taruna group in determining target markets, promoting products, and innovating unique product creations. To improve the community's skills, the service team provides training in the form of making unique bamboo curtains.

The results obtained that Multicultural societies make interactions with other communities that have different cultural differences. The differences that exist necessitate conflicts that occur because of differences so that it requires a common perception to unite these differences in order to create harmony in a multicultural society.Harmony that exists between multicultural communities is also based on effective communication between individuals with one another. In conducting communication in multicultural societies communication takes place verbally and non-verbally and cultural identity is inherent in the personalities of individuals who communicate. Multiculturalism in society not only reflects diversity, but also tests the extent to which individuals and groups are able to coexist harmoniously. The challenges that arise are often related to prejudice, discrimination, or unequal access to opportunities that should be enjoyed equally. The application of multiculturalism values in everyday life can be realised through social interactions that are respectful and open to differences. Cross-cultural activities such as the exchange of traditions, arts and languages can be an effective medium for strengthening relationships between community groups. This creates a deeper understanding of each other's backgrounds and reduces the potential for misunderstanding. In this way, multicultural societies not only coexist, but also thrive together in an atmosphere of peace and tolerance.Several strategies are implemented in order to recognise cultural diversity in communal life.Adaptation strategies can be implemented, such as acculturation, assimilation and separation, each of which has a different impact on intercultural relations.
