Abstract

Daun kemangi merupakan salah satu tanaman yang memiliki potensi baik sebagai antibakteri. Salah satu senyawa metabolit sekunder yang diketahui memiliki efek antibakteri yaitu flavonoid. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui krim dengan ekstrak daun kemangi sebagai bahan aktif utama memiliki efek antibakteri terhadap bakteri penyebab jerawat P.acnes dan S.epidermidis. Pelaksanaan penelitian ini diawali dengan pembuatan ekstrak daun kemangi, kemudian dilakukan uji aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak daun kemangi dengan 5 variasi konsentrasi yaitu 10%, 20%, 30%, 40% dan 50%, setelah itu dilakukan pengujian sediaan krim ektstrak daun kemangi dengan 2 variasi konsentrasi yaitu 30%, dan 40%. Sediaan krim yang sudah dilakukan uji aktivitas antibakteri, dilakukan evaluasi fisik sediaan berupa organoleptik, homogenitas, daya sebar, dan pH. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada ekstrak daun kemangi memiliki efek antibakteri dengan zona hambat terbesar ditunjukkan pada konsentrasi 50% dengan nilai 9,33 mm untuk P.acnes dan 7,34 mm untuk S.epidermidis, serta sediaan krim ekstrak daun kemangi dengan zona hambat terbesar ditunjukkan pada konsentrasi 40% dengan nilai 1,65 mm untuk P.acnes dan 2,12 mm untuk S.epidermidis. Abstract

Colon cancer is a degenerative disease that attacks the large intestine through a process of initiation, promotion and progression. Related research reports that overexpression of the AKT1 protein was found to be 60-70% and p53 at 50%. This research analyses the affinity, stability and interaction of gallic acid derivative compounds and reference ligands with the target proteins AKT1 and p53 by molecular docking. The study stages carried out include preparation and optimisation of target proteins and ligand compounds, file creation and simulation processes, and analysis and visualisation of docking results. The docking simulation results show that four gallic acid derivative compounds provide potential inhibitory activity against the AKT1 and p53 proteins based on binding energy values. BG and 2HBG compounds have strong inhibitory power against target proteins, thus enabling the formation of strong interactions and complexity towards the active site of amino acids with a bond distance of <3.0 Å. Thus, gallic acid derivative compounds have potential as inhibitors and are expected to activate other proteins, causing cancer cell apoptosis.

Abstract

Abstract—Acne is a chronic inflammation of the pilosebaceous follicles which is characterized by excess oil production caused by the bacterium Propionibacterium acnes. The content of flavonoids in basil leaves and the content of curcumin in turmeric rhizome can be used as an anti-acne treatment. The purpose of this study was to determine the anti-acne activity of a single extract of basil leaves and a single extract of turmeric rhizome, to determine the ability of the combination two extracts to inhibit acne-causing bacteria and to formulate combination of basil leaf extract and turmeric rhizome into a serum preparation to determine antibacterial activity against Propionibacterium acnes. The research method used was experimental by testing the antibacterial activity of Propionibacterium acnes in vitro. Antibacterial activity test results in serum showed a negative control, namely serum base did not have an inhibition zone, positive control clindamycin phosphate showed an inhibition zone of 13.20 mm, with a ratio between extracts of turmeric rhizome and basil leaves 1:4, the diameter of the inhibition zone was obtained at a concentration of 30 % of 5.7 mm, 40% concentration of 7.38 mm and 50% concentration of 8.11 mm. Statistical analysis was carried out using the Shapiro-Wilk, Levene Statistics, and One Way Anova methods (p<0.05). Keywords: acne, basil, p. acnes, serum, turmeric Abstrak—Jerawat merupakan peradangan kronik folikel pilosebasea yang ditandai dengan adanya produksi minyak berlebih yang disebabkan oleh bakteri Propionibacterium acnes. Kandungan flavonoid pada daun kemangi dan kandungan kurkumin pada rimpang kunyit dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai pengobatan antijerawat. Sediaan farmasi yang dapat digunakan untuk mengatasi masalah kulit berjerawat yaitu serum. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui aktivitas antijerawat pada ekstrak tunggal daun kemangi dan ekstrak tunggal rimpang kunyit, mengetahui kemampuan kombinasi kedua ekstrak dalam menghambat bakteri penyebab jerawat dan memformulasikan kombinasi ekstrak daun kemangi dan rimpang kunyit menjadi sediaan serum untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri terhadap Propionibacterium acnes. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimental dengan melakukan uji aktivitas antibakteri Propionibacterium acnes secara in vitro. Hasil uji aktivitas antibakteri pada serum menunjukkan kontrol negatif yaitu basis serum tidak mempunyai zona hambat, kontrol positif clindamycin phospat menunjukkan zona hambat sebesar 13,20 mm, dengan perbandingan antara ekstrak rimpang kunyit dan daun kemangi 1:4 diperoleh hasil diameter zona hambat pada konsentrasi 30% sebesar 5,7 mm, konsentrasi 40% sebesar 7,38 mm dan konsentrasi 50% sebesar 8,11 mm. Analisa statistik dilakukan dengan metode Shapiro-wilk, Levene statistic, dan One Way Anova (p<0,05). Kata kunci: jerawat, kemangi, kunyit, p. acnes, serum

Abstract

Counseling on the use of efficacious medicinal plants in the cultivation of greenhouse plants is one of the community service programs aimed at improving the health status of the people of Majalaya Village, especially the people of Langkob Village. This community service is expected to provide an understanding of the community benefits of various nutritious medicinal plants around. This activity was carried out by direct delivery method with a presentation of material related to the use of efficacious medicinal plants. The results achieved in this activity were an increase in public knowledge of the use of efficacious medicinal plants and understanding related to smart greenhouses as evidenced through statistical tests on the pre-test and post-test which were answered by the community in this series of activities. The statistical test resulted in a p-value <0.05, namely 0.013, which means that there was a significant difference when before the material was delivered and the material was delivered

Abstract

.Malnutrition among underfive children is closely related to adequate intake in the first 1000 days of life; starting with breastfeeding and complementary foods. Failure to meet food intake in children over the age of two can result in irreversible growth retardation. This community service activity was carried out in Sukanagalih Cianjur Village in August 2023. This activity empowered women's groups to increase knowledge about complementary foods and make local-based recipes for complementary foods. Community service activities began with a local food survey in the surrounding environment, implementation of a nutrition education program, and a demonstration of the process of cooking complementary foods for breast milk, followed by a group competition for mothers and recording of all recipes made by the community. From 40 participants, knowledge of 22 mothers who took part in the activity, were assessed through a pre-posttest questionnaire. The pre and post test results were collected and analyzed using the Wilcoxon test by considering the distribution of the data. The results showed that there was an increase in mother's knowledge regarding the processing and nutritional content of good Complementary Food for under-five with a median score of 75 to 80 (p-value: 0.039). Participants also started to feel confident with their recipe creations to improve the nutritional status of children around the village. The food ingredients in the recipe are also easy to obtain so they have the potential to be used for the monthly cycle complementary food menu at Posyandu

Abstract

The therapeutic potential of bitter leaf (Vernonia amygdalina Del.) has been established both empirically and in various scientific investigations. However, the molecular pathways related to its possible anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties remain unclear. Therefore, the aim of this study was to elucidate the molecular interactions between bitter leaf's bioactive compounds and cellular targets involved in these activities. The compounds in bitter leaf were identified using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) analysis, and subsequently, a network pharmacology approach was employed together with molecular docking and dynamics simulations. Acetonitrile (4.5%) and dimethylamine (4.972%) were the most prevalent compounds among the 38 identified by the GC-MS analysis of bitter leaf extract. The proto-oncogene tyrosine-protein kinase (SRC) demonstrated significant connectivity within the antioxidant network, highlighting its pivotal role in facilitating inter-protein communication. It also exhibited strategic positioning in anti-inflammatory mechanisms based on closeness centrality (0.385). The enrichment analysis suggested multifaceted mechanisms of bitter leaf compounds, including transcriptional regulation and diverse cellular targeting, indicating broad antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. Eicosapentaenoyl ethanolamide (EPEA) displayed strong interactions with multiple proteins, including SRC (-7.17 kcal/mol) and CYP3A4 (-6.88 kcal/mol). Moreover, EPEA demonstrated to form a stable interaction with SRC during a 100 ns simulation. In conclusion, the computational simulations revealed that the hypothetical antioxidant and anti-inflammatory actions of bitter leaf compounds were achieved by specifically targeting SRC. However, confirmation using either in vitro or in vivo techniques is necessary.

Abstract

Kulit buah mangga manalagi merupakan salah satu tumbuhan buah yang umum ditemukan di Indonesia. Kulit buah mangga manalagi memiliki senyawa aktif yaitu fenol dan flavonoid yang dapat digunakan sebagai senyawa aktivitas antioksidan, sehingga perlu diteliti senyawa antioksidannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antioksidan pada kulit mangga manalagi pada ekstrak kental dan dalam sediaan handbody gel. Metode pelaksanaan ini diawali dengan pemilihan buah mangga manalagi dan dilakukan determinasi tanaman, pemisahan, pembersihan kulit buah mangga manalagi, pembuatan ekstrak kental dari kulit buah manga manalagi, menentukan nilai aktivitas antioksidan dalam kulit mangga manalagi, pembuatan sediaan handbody gel kulit mangga manalagi dan uji evaluasi sediaan meliputi uji organoleptic, uji homogenitas, uji pH, dan uji daya sebar. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kulit buah mangga manalagi memiliki aktivitas antioksidan dengan nilai IC50 yaitu 69,6 ppm termasuk kedalam kategori kuat pada ekstrak kental dan pada sediaan handbody gel kulit mangga manalagi dengan formulasi 10%, 20%, dan 30% memiliki aktivitas antioksidan dengan nilai IC50 yaitu 270,1 ppm, 241,8 ppm, dan 172,6 ppm termasuk kedalam kategori lemah dan sangat lemah. Hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak kental kulit mangga manalagi memiliki aktivitas antioksidan dan aktivitas antioksidan sediaan handbody gel yang paling baik pada formulasi 30% yang mendapat nilai IC50 172,6 ppm.

Abstract

Dental caries is a disease of hard tissue caused by the activity of acid-producing bacteria that ferment carbohydrates after human consumption caused by the bacteria Streptococcus mutans. The flavonoid content in celery leaves and the tannin content in guava leaves can be used as an antibacterial treatment. Pharmaceutical preparations that can be used to treat dental caries problems are mouthwash. This research aims to formulate a combination of celery leaf and guava leaf extracts into a mouthwash preparation as an antibacterial against Streptococcus mutans. The research method used was experimental by testing the antibacterial activity of Streptococcus mutans in vitro. The results of the study showed that (1) the results of the antibacterial activity test on the negative control mouthwash were that the mouthwash base had no inhibition zone (2) the positive control chlorhexidine had an inhibition zone of 14.27mm (3) with a comparison between celery leaf extract and guava leaf extract 1:3 seeds, the results obtained were that the diameter of the inhibition zone at 20% concentration was 10.20 mm, 40% concentration was 11.20 mm, and 60% concentration was 12.05 mm; (4) The inhibitory power against Streptococcus mutans bacteria of the mouthwash containing a combination of celery leaf extract and guava leaf extract is greater than the inhibitory power of the positive control.

Abstract

Berbagai masalah penggunaan obat masih banyak ditemui di masyarakat, seperti kurangnya pengetahuan tentang penggunaan obat yang tidak rasional serta permasalahan lain terkait obat. Apoteker merupakan tenaga Kesehatan yang memiliki keahlian di bidang obat-obatan. Pengenalan mengenai obat dan profesi apoteker harus dilakukan sejak dini. Program apoteker cilik (Apocil) dilaksanakan sebagai sarana pengenalan profesi kefarmasian kepada anak-anak usia dini agar dapat mengenal dan meningkatkan minat terhadap profesi kefarmasian. Kegiatan yang dilakukan adalah sosialisasi dan workshop yang berisi pengenalan mengenai profesi apoteker, obat dan berbagai jenis sediaan obat dan praktik peracikan obat sederhana pada anak-anak First Rabbit Preschool and Daycare Bintaro, Kec. Pesanggrahan, Kota Jakarta Selatan. Hasil pengamatan kegiatan dilaksanakan di area yang familiar oleh anak-anak sehingga tidak ada permasalahan mengenai lokasi kegiatan. Materi yang diberikan sudah sesuai untuk mengenalkan apoteker secara dini ke anak-anak. Alat bantu peraga yang digunakan juga membantu dalam memberikan gambaran mengenai materi yang disampaikan. Selain itu, proses peracikan obat dinilai cukup mudah oleh beberapa anak. Kegiatan dapat diikuti dengan nyaman dimulai dan diakhiri tepat waktu sesuai dengan jadwal yang ditetapkan oleh guru fasilitator.

Abstract

Hipertensi merupakan kondisi dimana tekanan darah ≥ 140 mmHg/ 90 mmHg. Secara non-farmakologi, ekstrak daun kelor (Moringa oleifera) dapat digunakan untuk hipertensi. Kandungan antioksidan daun kelor antara lain saponin, alkaloid, tannins, fitosterols, fenolik, polyphenol, dan flavonoid. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh pemberian kapsul daun kelor (Moringa oleifera) terhadap penurunan tekanan darah. Kandungan antioksidan daun kelor antara lain saponin, alkaloid, tannins, fitosterols, fenolik, polyphenol, dan flavonoid. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu eksperimen dengan one group pre-test post-test design dengan cara membuat dua kelompok yaitu kelompok kontrol dengan mengonsumsi amlodipine 5mg/hari di minum pada malam hari dan kelompok perlakuan mengonsumsi amlodipine 5mg/hari dan kapsul daun kelor sebanyak 2x1 di minum pada pagi dan siang hari selama delapan minggu. Pengukuran tekanan darah dilakukan pada hari pertama dan di lakukan pengecekan tekanan darah setiap dua minggu sekali. Hasil uji Paired t-test pada kelompok kontrol dan perlakuan yaitu 0.000 < 0.05 yang berarti terdapat pengaruh signifikan dari mengonsumsi amlodipine dan kapsul daun kelor terhadap penurunan tekanan darah. Pada uji Anova didapatkan nilai penurunan rata-rata sistole pada kelompok kontrol yaitu 19.15 mmHg dan diastole 12.36 sedangkan pada kelompok perlakuan memiliki rata-rata penurunan lebih besar yaitu untuk sistole 22.00 mmHg dan pada diastole 13.88 mmHg dengan nilai P-value > 0.05 yang menujukkan tidak ada perbedaan yang bermakna pemberian terapi antara kelompok kontrol dan perlakuan terhadap penurunan tekanan darah.
