Abstract

This research is a quantitative research aimed at determining the significant influence between Wordwall media on student learning outcomes on plant body material in grade IV SD Inpres Tuadale. This research uses the Pre-Experimental design method with the form of One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population used in this study was grade IV students of SD Inpres Tuadale which amounted to 16 people. The sampling technique used is a saturated sample where all populations are sampled. Data collection techniques are tests, observations and document studies. This research was conducted at SD Inpres Tuadale West Kupang. Furthermore, the results showed that the normality test showed a significant value of 0.200 > 0.05 so that the data was normally distributed, the homogeneity test results showed Levene's (sig) of 0.578 > 0.05 so that the data obtained were homogeneous. The results of the hypothesis test, using paired sample T-test showed that the significance value (2-tailed) was 0.000. This shows that at the level of significance (2-tailed) < 0.05. In accordance with the basis of decision making due to the value of sig. (2-tailed) < 0.05, there is a significant influence between Wordwall media on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

The research aims to develop a Science Module based on Local Culture to enhance the Critical Thinking Skills of prospective Elementary School Teachers. This type of research is development research, using the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). The subjects of this study were 30 fifth-semester students of the Elementary School Teacher Education Program, who acted as prospective teachers and used the Local Culture-Based Science Module in their coursework as part of a trial of the module's use. The data collection methods employed were questionnaires to gather information on validation, attractiveness, and practicality, as well as tests to assess effectiveness. The data analysis technique used was descriptive quantitative analysis, where total scores and values were calculated and then averaged to be interpreted according to predetermined criteria. The results obtained from the research process showed that the Local Culture-Based Science Module was valid with a validity score of 3.85, attractive with a score of 82.2, practical with a score of 80, and effective with an average final test score of 83.06. In conclusion, the Local Culture-Based Science Module is valid, attractive, practical, and effective for use as a teaching guide for prospective elementary school teachers

Abstract

The purpose of this workshop was to enhance educators’ understanding and skills in designing and implementing assessment integrated with the principles and learning experiences of the deep learning approach in early childhood education (ECE). The workshop employed an andragogical approach, facilitated discussions, case studies, simulations, and hands-on practice grounded in local contexts. In this approach, assessment is positioned not merely as a measurement tool, but as an integral part of the child’s learning process. Participants included academics, supervisors, school principals, and ECE teachers. The results indicate that formative assessments (Assessment for Learning and Assessment as Learning) and summative assessment (Assessment of Learning) contextually support children's core learning experiences: understanding, applying, and reflecting. Assessment practices were carried out through systematic observation, portfolios, guided reflection, and project-based documentation. Findings highlight the importance of aligning assessment with meaningful, mindful, and joyful learning principles, and of cross-role collaboration in planning and implementation. This article recommends teacher training, the development of context-based assessment guidelines, the strengthening of professional learning communities, and the integration of digital support to promote reflective and child-centered assessment practices

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of science teaching materials developed using a case-based learning approach in enhancing critical thinking skills. The research employed an experimental method with a pretest–posttest control group design. The sample consisted of 66 first-semester students enrolled in the Elementary School Teacher Education Program at Nusa Cendana University. The findings revealed that the average posttest score of the control group was 59, while the experimental group achieved an average score of 87. The paired-sample t-test results for the posttest scores of the control and experimental groups yielded a significance value of 0.000, indicating a statistically significant difference between the two groups. Furthermore, student responses to the implementation of the teaching materials reached 94%. These results indicate that the use of case-based learning–oriented science teaching materials is effective in improving critical thinking skills, with student responses categorized as very effective.
