Abstract

This survey aims to describe the mathematical literacy of state junior high school students in Kupang city, East Nusa Tenggara province. It was done not only due to the low achievement of Indonesian 15-year-old students in PISA but also because there are no surveys which had been done before to map the mathematical literacy of students in Kupang city. A total of 377 respondents who were the ninth grade students representing six state junior high schools in Kupang were collected by two-stage cluster randomized sampling. The students were assessed using fifteen problems adopted from PISA 2012 and some development researches with a product of mathematical literacy problems so that those items were highly reliable to measure students mathematical literacy. The categorization of students mathematical literacy was carried out using Mamdani’s Fuzzy Inference method. The input of fuzzification was a score of three process domains assessed by those fifteen problems, specifically formulating, employing, and interpreting. The output of defuzzification was students mathematical literacy score used to determine the category of students mathematical literacy. The results showed that the mathematical literacy of state junior high school students in Kupang city was generally classified as a low category.

Abstract

: This research was conducted based on the situation in the social studies learning process which is ineffective and efficient. This study aims to develop diorama media that are relevant to social studies material on the sub-themes of humans and the environment in class V that are valid, practical and effective. Type research using development research with the ADDIE Model, which consists of 5 stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Collection of research data using questionnaires and tests. The research subjects were fifth-grade students of SDI Nufuak Belu as many as 25 students. The data collected consists of expert validation data, response questionnaire data from teachers and students, and test result data. The results showed that the development of diorama media for social studies learning sub-themes of humans and the environment class V SDI Nufuak Belu has very good qualifications with an achievement rate of 90.41%. Achievement of this quality is obtained from the calculation of the average media validity rate of 90.83% with a very valid, practicality rate of 96.40% with very practical, and the effectiveness rate is 84% very high

Abstract

Understanding core concepts in STEM fields requires strong mathematical literacy to solve complex problems, think analytically, and reason methodically. However, Indonesian students continue to score low in international assessments such as PISA, with gender disparities favoring boys reported in some countries. This study investigates gender differences in mathematical literacy performance among public middle school students in Kupang, a region with limited prior research on this topic. Using secondary data from a school-based survey involving 377 students selected through two-stage cluster random sampling, we analyzed test scores across overall performance, content domains, and process domains. After confirming assumptions of normality and homogeneity, gender-based comparisons were conducted using one-way ANOVA. Results indicate no statistically significant gender differences in overall mathematical literacy, nor in any content (quantity, change and relationship, space and shape, uncertainty and data) or process domains (formulating, employing, interpreting). Effect size calculations also confirmed the absence of a gender gap. These findings support the gender similarities hypothesis and suggest that both boys and girls are equally capable in mathematical reasoning. Promoting this equality can help counter gender stereotypes and foster balanced participation in STEM fields. Educators and policymakers should leverage these insights to design equitable math instruction and encourage greater female representation in mathematics-intensive careers

Abstract

Digital learning media creation workshops were conducted at the primary school in Oeba V. The total number of participants in this activity was 31 people. The methods used in dedication to this community are the methods of training and support. Qualitatively obtained results include understanding, skills, and motivation regarding digitization in learning, learning media and its implementation in learning in primary schools, making AKM tests for simulation of AKM using the I Spring Suite application, making teaching materials, quizzes, and interactive games using the Wordwall application, genially, and educaplay. Quantitatively achieved results are: 15 teachers capable of producing AKM tests based on HTML and Android using the Spring Suite application; 1 teacher capable of creating teaching material and interactive games with the application genially; 4 teachers able to create interactive games using wordwall applications, Educaplay

Abstract

Kemampuan literasi dan numerasi menjadi keterampilan yang perlu ditingkatkan dalam pembelajaran. Salah satu cara untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi dan numerasi adalah dengan membiasakan pembelajaran dan evaluasi berbasis literasi dan numerasi di sekolah. Oleh sebab itu, pelaksanaan workshop pengembangan soal literasi dan numerasi dengan memanfaatkan ispring suite bagi guru – guru SD Negeri Palsatu Kota Kupang menjadi salah satu strategi untuk mecapai hal tersebut. Tujuan pelaksanaan kegiatan ini yaitu meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan guru SD Negeri Palsatu dalam mengembangkan soal literasi dan numerasi dengan memanfaatkan aplikasi ispring suite. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di SD Negeri Palsatu dengan sasaran guru SD Negeri Palsatu sebanyak 15 orang. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan dalam bentuk pelatihan dan pendampingan dengan metode ceramah, diskusi, penugasan dan presentasi. Langkah pelaksanaan kegiatan ini yaitu prestest kepada peserta, pemberian materi, pengembangan soal literasi dan numerasi dengan memanfaatkan ispring suite, presentasi produk yang telah dikembangkan serta pelaksanaan posttest. Hasil yang diperoleh yaitu secara kuantitatif pemahaman guru terhadap materi yang telah dipresentasikan menjadi meningkat dari rata – rata hasil pretest 60 menjadi 80 pada posttest. Selain itu, guru juga memiliki keterampilan dalam pengembangan soal literasi dan numerasi dengan memanfaatkan ispring suite. Hal ini dapat terlihat dari produk yang dihasilkan oleh peserta.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PkM) ini dilakukan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan guru dalam menyusun modul ajar dan media pembelajaran berbasis digital bagi Guru SD GMIT Kota Kupang. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan selama 3 hari dari 8 sampai 10 Mei 2025 di SD GMIT Kuanino 1 Kota Kupang sebagai sekolah mitra. Peserta kegiatan yang terlibat berasal dari 5 SD GMIT Klasis Kota Kupang, yaitu SD GMIT Kuanino 1, 2 dan 3, SD GMIT Airnona 1, 2, dengan jumlah total keseluruhan partisipan sebanyak 30 guru. Materi yang dipaparkan mencakup literasi dan numerasi, kurikulum merdeka, serta penggunaan dan pengintegrasian media pembelajaran digital berbasis web dan aplikasi dalam penyusunan perangkat ajar. Peserta juga dibimbing untuk membuat perangkat pembelajaran berbasis literasi numerasi dan media pembelajaran digital untuk menunjang pembelajaran mereka di sekolah. Hasil yang dicapai berupa tersusunnya 30 perangkat pembelajaran yang mengitegrasikan media pembelajaran berbasis digital. Selain itu, hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa semua peserta telah memiliki pemahaman yang baik tentang materi literasi, numerasi, modul ajar dan media pembelajaran digital berbasis literasi dan numerasi dengan nilai minimal 80.

Abstract

An adequate mathematical literacy allows individuals to comprehend core concepts in STEM fields, such as complex problem solving, analytical thinking, and methodical approach to challenges. Indonesian students’ mathematical literacy was still categorized in the low group according to PISA survey. In some countries, boys still outperformed girls which, in the long run, can lead to woman underrepresentation in STEM fields. Using secondary data collected during 2018/2019 academic year in Kupang, this research focused on examining public middle school students’ overall mathematical literacy based on gender as well as their performance in the process and content areas. The technique used to select 377 participants was two-stage cluster randomized sampling. Although there were only two categories of gender, the data were analyzed using One-Way ANOVAs to open possibilities for future research to analyze more than two groups. After the normality and homogeinity of variance had been confirmed, the data was then analyzed to examine gender patterns. The results revealed gender similarities in the overall as well as in the content and process domain of public middle school students’ mathematical literacy in Kupang. The results endorsed gender equality in mathematical literacy and contributed to career aspirations and decreasing gender prejudice in STEM education.

Abstract

Modul ajar merupakan perangkat kunci yang memberikan kerangka belajar komprehensif bagi siswa di kelas. Kerangka belajar bagi siswa harus disusun dengan menggunakan pendekatan yang relevan dengan cara belajar masa kini. Deep Learning menjadi salah satu pendekatan yang wajib diterapkan di sekolah dasar saat ini. Pelatihan penyusunan Modul ajar berbasis Deep Learning yang dilaksanakan PGSD UNDANA membantu guru “3T” agar secara baik dan lengkap mampu menyusun modul ajar di sekolah dasar. Pelatihan dilaksanakan dengan metode ceramah interaktif, diskusi, serta pendampingan intens pada setiap guru yang mengabdi di sekolah tersebut. Pelatihan ini diberikan oleh dua orang narasumber bersama tim dosen program studi. Hasil dari pelatihan dan pendampingan ini, guru-guru mampu memahami dan menyusun modul ajar dengan pendekatan Deep Learning di sekolah dasar dengan lengkap disertai perangkat pendukung lainnya seperti bahan ajar, LKPD, dan media pembelajaran. Guru SD Inpres Pilasue menghasilkan 8 modul ajar berbasis Deep Learning yang siap digunakan dalam tahun akademik berjalan.

Abstract

A technical guidance of creating teaching materials based on Merdeka curriculum framework was conducted in the beginning of academic year 2024/2025 from August 1 – 3, 2024, in UPTD SDN Batuplat 2 Kupang. The community service activity was participated by 29 participants of teachers and education personnels of UPTD SDN Batuplat 2 Kupang. This activity was carried out using training and assisting method. Qualitatively, the final survey showed that all participants obtained meaningful knowledge, understanding, and skill to create teaching materials incorporating differentiated learning. The participants were able to integrate digital learning media in the teaching materials they had created. Besides, quantitatively, the final survey indicated that as many as 26 teachers could produce differentiated learning modules according to classes and levels where they teach, 5 teachers and education personnels could produce HTML and android-based application for AKM simulation using I spring suite. Moreover, 9 teachers and education personnels could produce interactive teaching materials, quizzes, and games using web-based application, such as genially, educaplay, and wordwall.
