Abstract

Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh deskripsi penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika siswa pada materi logaritma di kelas X IPA Model 1 SMAN 1 Sigi. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Desain penelitian yang dilakukan mengacu pada desain penelitian Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart yang terdiri dari empat komponen, yaitu (1) perencanaan, (2) tindakan, (3) pengamatan, dan (4) refleksi. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X IPA Model 1 SMAN 1 Sigi. Dari subjek penelitian tersebut dipilih 3 orang informan dengan kemampuan tinggi, sedang dan rendah. Jenis data yang digunakan adalah data kualitatif dan data kuantitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data yaitu observasi, tes, wawancara dan catatan lapangan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam dua siklus. Penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dengan mengikuti tahap-tahap model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD, yakni: (1) penyajian kelas, (2) mengorganisasikan siswa ke dalam kelompok belajar, (3) membimbing siswa belajar dan bekerja, (4) tes individual, dan (5) pemberian penghargaan. Kata Kunci: Pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Student Team Achievement Divisions (STAD); Hasil Belajar; Logaritma. Abstract: The purpose of this research was to obtain a description of the application STAD type of cooperative learning model to improve students’ mathematics learning outcomes on the logarithm material in grade X IPA Model 1 SMAN 1 Sigi. This type of research is classroom action research (CAR). The research design refers to the design of research conducted Kemmis and Mc. Taggart is comprised by of four components: (1) planning, (2) actions, (3) observation, and (4) reflection. The subject of this research is student of class X IPA Model 1 SMAN 1 Sigi. The research subjects chosen from 3 informants with high ability, medium and low. The data of this rescares was qualitative and quantitative data. Fechnigues of data collection were observation, tests, interviews, and notes. This research was conducted in two cycles. The results showed that the application of STAD type of cooperative learning model can improve student learning outcomes by following the phases of the learning model Cooperative STAD, namely: (1) Presentation Classes, (2) organize the students into groups learning, (3) guiding students to learn and work, (4) the test individual, and (5) giving the award. Abstract

Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan keefektivan metode penemuan terbimbing terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri se-Kecamatan Dampal Utara. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian quasi eksperiment. Adapun desain penelitian yang digunakan yaitu Nonequivalent control group design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri se-Kecamatan Dampal Utara. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan purposive sampling. Adapun sampel yang diperoleh adalah kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Dampal Utara yang berjumlah dua kelas. Hasil analisis data diperoleh nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen 75,28 dan kelas kontrol 69,9. Berdasarkan perhitungan uji hipotesis diperoleh thitung = 1,87 dan ttabel = 1,68 karena thitung > ttabel maka Ha diterima. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa yang diajar dengan menggunakan metode penemuan terbimbing lebih baik dari metode ekspositori. Artinya metode penemuan terbimbing efektif terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri se-Kecamatan Dampal Utara pada materi aritmetika sosial. Abstract: The purpose of this study was to describe the effectiveness of guided discovery method on mathematical problem-solving ability of students at class VII SMP Negeri North Dampal District. This research is a quantitative study with the research design of Nonequivalent control group design. The population of this study was all class VII SMP Negeri North Dampal District. Sampling techniques are performed with purposive sampling. The sample obtained is class VII SMP Negeri north Dampal district which amounts to two classes. Data analysis results are obtained the average value of the experimental class 75.28 and the control class 69.9. Based on hypothesis test calculations acquired tcount = 1.87 and ttable = 1.68 because tcount > ttable then Ha received. So it can be concluded that the students mathematical problem solving ability to be taught using a better guided discovery method of expository methods. It means that discovery guided method is effective againt mathematical problem-solving ability of student at class VII SMP Negeri North Dampal District on social arithmetic material. Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh deskripsi penerapan pendekatan keterampilan proses yang dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi limit fungsi aljabar di kelas XI IBB MAN 2 Palu. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IBB yang berjumlah 26 siswa dan dipilih tiga sebagai informan. Penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang mengacu pada desain penelitian Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart yakni (1) perencanaan, (2) pelaksanaan tindakan dan observasi (3) refleksi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Penerapan Pendekatan keterampilan proses yang dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas XI IBB MAN 2 Palu pada materi limit fungsi aljabar yang meliputi langkah-langkah : (1) pemanasan, (2) pengamatan dan interpretasi hasil pengamatan, (3) peramalan, (4) pengkajian, (5) generalisasi penemuan, (6) penerapan dan (7) mengkomunikasikan. Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh deskripsi mengenai Profil Pemecahan Masalah siswa yang berkemampuan matematika tinggi, sedang dan rendah dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita pokok bahasan persegi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif yang didasarkan pada langkah pemecahan masalah yang dikemukakan oleh Polya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa profil pemecahan masalah persegi siswa berkemampuan matematika tinggi, sedang dan rendah pada tahap memahami masalah adalah subjek memahami masalah yang diberikan dengan baik; tahap membuat rencana pemecahan masalah siswa berkemapuan matematika tinggi memiliki gambaran dan strategi rencana yang jelas dalam merencanakan penyelesaian, subjek berkmampuan matematika sedang memiliki gambaran dan strategi yang cukup jelas, sedangkan siswa berkemampuan matematika rendah memiliki gambaran dan strategi rencana yang kurang jelas; tahap melaksanakan rencana pemecahan masalah siswa berkemampuan matematika tinggi melaksanakan rencana sesuai dengan yang telah dirancanakan sebelumnya dan memperoleh penyelesaian yang tepat, siswa berkemampuan matematika sedang juga melaksanakan rencana sesuai dengan yang telah direncnakan sebelumnya namun memperoleh penyelesaian yang kurang tepat sedangkan siswa berkemampuan matematika rendah melaksanakan rencana sesuai dengan yang telah ia rencakan sebelumnya sehingga tidak menemukan penyelesaiaan; tahap memeriksa kembali jawaban siswa berkemampuan matematika tinggi memeriksa kembali jawaban saat mengerjakan dan setelah mengerjakan masalah, siswa berkemampuan matematika sedang melakukan pegecekan informasi pada saat mengerjakan masalah, dan siswa berkemampuan matematika rendah tidak melakukan pemeriksaan kembali jawaban. Kata Kunci: Profil, Pemecahan Masalah, Persegi, Kemampuan Matematika Abstract: This study aims to obtain a description of the problem solving profile of students who have high, moderate and low mathematical abilities in solving the question of square subject stories. This research is a qualitative research with a qualitative descriptive approach based on problem solving steps proposed by Polya. The results of the study show that the profile of square problem solving for students with high, medium and low mathematical abilities at the stage of understanding the problem is able to understand the problem given properly; the stage of making a problem solving plan for students with high mathematical abilities has a clear picture and plan strategy in planning completion, subjects with moderate mathematical abilities have a fairly clear picture and strategy, while students with low mathematical abilities have an unclear picture and plan strategy; the stage of implementing a problem solving plan for high mathematical ability students carry out plans in accordance with what has been planned before and get the right solution, students with moderate mathematical abilities are also carrying out plans in accordance with what was planned before and but getting inaccurate solutions while students with low mathematical abilities implement plans according with what he had planned before and so that he did not find a solution; the stage of re-examining the answers of students with high mathematical abilities to re-examine then performing a careful recalculation when working and after working on the problem, students with moderate mathematical abilities checking information while working on the problem, and students with low mathematical abilities did not re-examine the answer. Abstract

Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) untuk mengetahui jenis kesalahan yang dilakukan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal limit fungsi, (2) untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan siswa melakukan kesalahan dalam menyelesaikan soal limit fungsi. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. Subjek penelitian adalah 3 siswa yang diambil dari 29 siswa kelas XI IPA 4. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa jenis-jenis kesalahan yang dilakukan siswa yaitu kesalahan fakta, kesalahan konsep, kesalahan prinsip, dan kesalahan prosedural berdasarkan pada klasifikasi kesalahan dasar objek matematika. Kesalahan fakta yang dilakukan siswa yaitu siswa keliru dalam menuliskan simbol limit fungsi. Kesalahan konsep yang dilakukan siswa yaitu (1) siswa salah dalam menggunakan rumus untuk menyelesaikan soal, (2) siswa tidak memahami aturan dari limit fungsi. (3) siswa tidak mampu menyelesaikan soal. Kesalahan prinsip yang dilakukan siswa yaitu (1) keliru dalam menjabarkan suatu fungsi, (3) keliru dalam menentukan bentuk akar sekawan dari suatu fungsi, (3) tidak memahami materi prasyarat dari limit fungsi. Kesalahan prosedural yang dilakukan siswa yaitu: (1) berupa kesalahan memahami dan mencermati perintah soal, (2) kesalahan dalam melakukan operasi, (3) keliru dalam penulisan dan (4) kesalahan prosedur tidak lengkap. Faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan siswa melakukan kesalahan-kesalahan dalam menyelesaikan soal limit fungsi yaitu siswa tidak mengetahui simbol dari limit kiri dan limit kanan yang benar, siswa kurang memahami konsep dari limit fungsi, pengetahuan prasyarat dari limit fungsi yang dimiliki siswa masih belum cukup atau kurang, siswa kurang teliti dalam menyelesaikan soal limit fungsi dan keterampilan yang dimiliki oleh siswa sangat kurang. Kata kunci: Analisis Kesalahan, Menentukan Nilai Limit Fungsi. Abstract: The objectives of this research are (1) to find out types of error which were done by students in solving limit function problems. (2) to find out factors which caused students made mistake in solving limit function problems. The types of this research is qualitative research. The subjects of this research are 3 students which were taken from 29 students of class XI IPA 4. The result of this research shows that the types of error which were done by the students are factual error, conceptual error, principle error, and procedural error, according to basic error classification of mathematics object. Factual errors which was done by the students is students made mistake in writing limit function symbols. Conceptual errors which were done by the students are (1) students made mistake in using formula to solve the problems, (2) students did not understand well the rule of limit function, (3) students could not solve the problems. Principle errors which were done by the students are (1) students made mistake in operating algebraic forms, (2) made mistake in elaborating a function, (3) made mistake in determining flock root form of a function, (4) did not understand the prerequisite material of limit function. Furthermore, procedural errors which were done by the students are: (1) error in understanding and paying attention to the problems instructions, error in doing the operation (3) error in writing and (4) incomplete procedural error. Factors which caused students made mistake in solving limit function problems are students did not understand well the concept of limit function, students did not solve the problems carefully, students’ skill which was still less, students’ prerequisite knowledge which was still not sufficient, and the students had lack of initiative to recall all lesson that they had learned at school. Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh deskripsi penerapan langkah Polya dalam Model Problem Based Learningdalam upaya meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita untung dan rugi di kelas VIIA SMP Negeri 1 Labuan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK). Rancangan penelitian ini mengacu pada desain penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart yakni (1) perencanaan, (2) pelaksanaan tindakan, (3) observasi dan (4) refleksi. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam dua siklus. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan langkah Polya dalam model Problem Based Learning dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita untung dan rugi di kelas VIIA SMP Negeri 1 Labuan. 4 langkah Polya yaitu: (1) memahami masalah, siswa memahami masalah dengan menuliskan apa yang diketahui dan apa yang ditanyakan, (2) membuat perencanaan, siswa membuat perencanaan dengan membuat model matematika dari apa yang diketahui pada masalah, (3) melaksanakan perencanaan, siswa melaksanakan perencanaan dengan menyelesaikan soal menggunakan metode yang mereka inginkan, (4) memeriksa kembali proses dan hasil yang diperoleh, siswa memeriksa kembali hasil yang telah mereka peroleh dengan mensubtitusi hasil yang diperoleh kedalam model matematika yang telah dibuat. Penerapan langkah Polya dalam pembelajaran menggunakan model Problem Based Learning, yaitu: (1) orientasi siswa kepada masalah, (2) mengorganisasikan siswa untuk belajar, (3) membimbing penyelidikan individu maupun kelompok, (4) Mengembangkan dan menyajikan hasil karya, dan (5) menganalisis dan mengevaluasi proses pemecahan masalah. Abstract: The purpose of this researc is to get description applying step Polya Problem Based learning for increasing result of student study in finishing question story form advantages and unadvantages in class VII A at SMP Negeri 1 Labuan. The type of research is action of class research (PTK). The plan of this research based on desaign of action class research (PTK). Kemmis and Mc Taggar which are (1) planning, (2) doing action, (3) observation, and (4) reflection. This research are doing in two cycle. The result of research showing that applying Polya step in example problem based learning can increasing the result of student study of finishing question story of advantage and unadvantage in class VII A at SMP Negeri 1 Labuan. 4 Polya steps which are : (1) understanding problem, the student is understanding problem with writing down what they knew and asked, (2) making planning, the students is making planning with making mathematic example from what they knew from the problem, (3) doing planing, the student doing planing with finishing test by using method that they want it, and (4) checking back process and result that they got, the student checking back the result that they got with subtituting result in mathematic model that they made. Applying Polya step in learning using example Problem Based Learning are (1) the student orientation to problem, (2) organizing student to study, (3) guiding research individu or groups, (4) develophing and showing of result creation, and (5) analizing and evaluating proces solve problem. Abstract

This research aims to: (1) Find out whether there is an effect parental education level on learning achievement of XI grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Banggai, (2) find out whether there is an effect of learning motivation on learning achievement in XI grade mathematics at SMA Negeri 1 Banggai, (3) find out whether there is an effect of parents education level and learning motivation on learning achievement of XI grade mathematics subjects at SMA Negeri 1 Banggai. This research is a quantitative research using associative analysis technique with the research subjects being 56 student of class XI science. Data collection techniques using questionnaires and documentation. Research results show that (1) there is an effect of the variable level of parental education (X1) on the learning achievement of XI grade students in mathematics at SMA Negeri 1 Banggai, evidenced by the results of the partial test t arithmetic = 6,029 > t table 1,674 with a significant 0,000 < 0,05 which means H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted, (2) there is no influence of learning motivation variable on learning achievement of XI grade mathematic subjects at SMA Negeri 1 Banggai, evidenced by the results of the partial test t arithmetic = 1,457 < t table 1,673 with a significant 0,151 < 0,05 which means H0 is accepted and Ha is rejected, (3) there is a simultaneous influence of parents education level and learning motivation on learning achievement in mathematics for XI grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Banggai, evidenced by the results of the simultaneous test F count = 18,996 > F table 3,17 with a significant 0,000 < 0,05 so the H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. The influence of parents education level on learning achievement is 39,68% greater than the influence of learning motivation on learning achievement which is 2,06%. The effect of parents education level and learning motivation simultaneously on learning achievement is 41,8% and the remaining 58,2% is influenced by other reasons not included in this study.

Abstract

This research is a qualitative study that agrees to describe the types of errors made by students of class XI SMA Negeri 7 Palu in solving quadratic function questions. Data were collected by means of test and interview methods. The research subjects consisted of 2 students. The results showed that the students' misconceptions were: (1) Wrong to write down what was known and asked from the questions, it was shown that the subject did not write down what was known and was asked for the answer. (2) Wrong in determining the solution of the problem, it is shown that the subject made an error in substituting the values ​​a, b, and c in the formula and wrong in determining the factor of a quadratic function. (3) wrong in determining the final answer. (4) wrong in multiplying the value of a to the quadratic function formula. Principle errors that were made by students were: (1) students did not understand the concept and did not master the prerequisite material, students did not write the formula for the peak point and were wrong in determining the value of the peak point of a parabola, procedural errors made by students were: (1) Not writing what was known and asked from the questions, it is shown that the subject did not write down what was known and was asked for the answer. (2) an error in carrying out the operation, it was shown that the student was wrong in doing the questions given. (3) incomplete procedure error.

Abstract

This research aims to describe students' problem solving profiles in solving story problems adding and subtracting integers based on learning styles (visual, auditory and kinesthetic) using the Polya approach. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The research subjects consisted of three class VII students at SMP Negeri 2 Palu, each of whom represented a visual, auditory and kinesthetic learning style. The results of the research showed that students with a visual learning style did not fully understand the problem according to the Polya procedure, even though they could state some of the information in words. -said himself. Subjects prepare plans logically and carry out steps systematically, but do not double-check the results so that there are errors that are not corrected. Students with an auditory learning style can understand problems completely and formulate plans by adding up information based on time sequence. Subjects executed plans consistently but did not thoroughly double-check results, resulting in errors being left uncorrected. On the other hand, students with a kinesthetic learning style show good understanding, prepare appropriate plans, carry out steps systematically, and recheck the results according to Polya procedures, so that they get the correct answers and are confident in the results. This research provides insight into the influence of learning styles on mathematical problem solving abilities and the importance of paying attention to the re-examination step in the learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to describe students’ mathematical communication skills in solving problems related to angle relationships, taking into account gender differences among students of SMP Negeri 1 Sindue Tobata. This research employed a qualitative approach with two eighth-grade students as subjects, consisting of one male and one female student, both identified as high-ability learners. Data were collected through tests and interviews. The results revealed that the male student demonstrated mathematical communication skills in understanding mathematical ideas both orally and in writing, using mathematical terms and notations, interpreting mathematical ideas through graphs and symbols, and evaluating ideas orally, although his written evaluations were still lacking. In contrast, the female student exhibited better skills in evaluating mathematical ideas both orally and in writing. These findings provide insights into the differences in mathematical communication skills between high-ability male and female students within the context of mathematics learning.
