Abstract

Container ports are one of the investment attractions, the busier the port, the more investment there will be and vice versa, but the success of a port is determined by good service. Environmentally friendly human resources of container ports determine performance improvement. This study uses a qualitative approach method, environmentally based human resources. the data collected is interpreted to produce a deeper understanding of the phenomena observed in the field. The data will then be constructed into themes that have significant meaning. The results of the study found a new concept of Maximize Green Hrd Port which was tested on the management of a container port in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the path of effect through which safety climate and job satisfaction influence sailors’ safety behavior. The population in this study comprises the deck crew (seafarers) from several domestic shipping companies, totaling 210 individuals. The sample was selected using simple random sampling with data collected from 141 seafarers. The data were processed using Partial Least Square (PLS) with PLS Smart Software. The results indicate a direct and significant positive relationship between safety climate and safety behavior, with a path coefficient value of 0.421. Additionally, there is an indirect effect of safety climate on safety behavior mediated by job satisfaction, with a path coefficient value of 0.177. The analysis also reveals a significant positive relationship between safety climate and job satisfaction, with a path coefficient of 0.631, and a direct significant positive relationship between job satisfaction and sailors’ safety behavior, with a path coefficient value of 0.280. The structural model analysis using PLS demonstrates that safety climate and job satisfaction influence sailors’ safety behavior, with an overall predictive power of 52.45%. This indicates that the overall predictive capability of the model is considered strong. Although the safety climate and job satisfaction influence the safety behavior of ship crews, there are also other factors such as intelligence (IQ), special skills, physical condition, personality, emotions, thinking style, perceptions, and work attitudes that can influence behavior as external factors in this study. As a practical recommendation, shipping companies are advised to improve the safety climate and job satisfaction. This can be done by providing safety facilities, regular training, policies that priorities crew safety, and effective communication between management and employees.

Abstract

This study examines how employee capabilities and technology-mediated channels shape well-being in hierarchical hotel contexts marked by coercive leadership. Drawing on Approach–Avoidance Motivation and Diffusion of Innovation, we theorize a resource-and-channels model in which (a) Exapro-a capability bundle combining professional experience and proactive personality-enhances employee well-being, and (b) electronic diffusion of innovation (e-DOI) strengthens the welfare returns to Exapro by providing safer, auditable pathways for idea sharing when face-to-face voice is risky. We test the model using a three-wave longitudinal design across 26 three- to five-star hotels in Central Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta (Indonesia) with N = 100 employees concentrated in frontline, rotating-shift roles. Using PLS-SEM (SmartPLS 4), measurement properties met recommended thresholds. Results show that the direct effect of despotic leadership on well-being is not significant (H1 rejected) once resources and channels are modeled. By contrast, despotic leadership positively predicts Exapro (H2 supported), Exapro positively predicts well-being (H3 supported), and e-DOI positively moderates the Exapro → well-being link (H4 supported). The model explains a moderate share of variance in well-being (R² ≈ .52). The findings reframe leader–well-being debates by demonstrating a suppressed/contingent direct effect of despotism and highlighting that what employees can do (Exapro) and how they can safely make it visible (e-DOI) are pivotal for sustaining well-being. Practically, hotels should build experience-based scripts, select/develop for proactivity, and institutionalize digital codification of micro-innovations while strengthening leadership accountability.

Abstract

AbstractThis community service activity aims to empower coastal communities by strengthening local wisdom and transforming the Kalisodo Mangrove area into an ecotourism destination based on sustainable coastal development (SDGs). The PKM program was implemented in Kalisodo Village, Grati District, Pasuruan Regency, involving community members, village government, and students of the Surabaya Maritime Polytechnic's Ship. The implementation method used a participatory approach through four main stages: observation and socio-ecological mapping, designing and organizing activities, implementing conservation literacy and community capacity training programs, and evaluating the results and impacts of the activities. The results of the activity showed that the community has great potential in managing mangrove areas, but previously did not understand the educational and economic value of these resources. Through training and mentoring, the community succeeded in improving their conservation knowledge, educational tourism management skills, and environmental interpretation abilities. This activity also resulted in the formation of a conservation-based Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) which plays a key role in the development of sustainable mangrove ecotourism. This community service program proves that the integration of local wisdom, maritime education, and environmental conservation can create a model of coastal community empowerment that aligns with SDGs 14 and 8. Keywords: mangrove educational tourism; local wisdom; maritime conservation; coastal community empowerment; sustainable development goals.
