Abstract

Nature-based education offers a transformative approach to sustainable education by integrating natural environments and sustainability principles into active learning experiences. In Indonesia, Saga Lifeschool, along with over 200 nature-based schools under Jaringan Sekolah Alam Nusantara (JSAN), exemplifies this model through its "Sekolah Alam Way" (SA WAY) system. This system emphasizes holistic education aligned with sustainable development goals and the core values of Pancasila, including environmental stewardship, community spirit, and global diversity appreciation. This research aims to assess the quality improvement needs in SA WAY’s implementation of nature-based education, focusing on enhancing educational practices that promote academic, ethical, social, and environmental growth. The study applies theories such as experiential learning, place-based education, and embodied cognition to evaluate how hands-on activities—such as outdoor projects, environmental conservation, and community engagement—support cognitive, ethical, and social development. Findings indicate that while SA WAY effectively instills these values, improvements in resources, teacher training, and outdoor learning infrastructure are needed to further enhance educational quality and sustainability. The research highlights the importance of continuous development in these areas to ensure the long-term success of nature-based education and its alignment with sustainable practices.

Abstract

This study examines the integration of empowerment modules into internship programs at PKBM Alam Jingga, an Indonesian institution dedicated to holistic education through nature-based learning. The modules aim to enhance students' personal development by cultivating critical thinking, creativity, and global citizenship skills. Additionally, the research focuses on how these modules align with the Pancasila student profile, promoting values such as faith, noble character, and community spirit—essential for nurturing responsible and culturally aware individuals. Utilizing a document analysis method, feedback from students, instructors, and supervisors was evaluated through models like Kirkpatrick's and CIPP to assess the program's effectiveness. The findings demonstrate that the empowerment modules significantly contribute to students' academic and personal growth, fostering deeper engagement with their education and societal roles. This study underscores the importance of refining internship practices to address the evolving demands of the workforce while maintaining alignment with the core values of Pancasila. The integrated approach offers a framework for developing well-rounded individuals, equipped for both career success and meaningful contributions to society.

Abstract

This descriptive study explores the impact of Shorinji Kempo martial arts training on the mental resilience of students at SBS Young Entrepreneur School, Bekasi, Indonesia. Over two years, the school integrated Kempo into its curriculum to enhance students' self-discipline, adaptability, and psychological strength—qualities essential for academic, social, and personal success. Kempo, a martial art introduced to Indonesia in the 1960s, combines physical techniques with philosophical teachings that emphasize resilience and personal growth. The study aims to assess how Kempo training contributed to students’ mental resilience, focusing on stress management, emotional regulation, self-confidence, and overall psychological well-being. The research utilized a descriptive design, employing pre- and post-training interviews, questionnaires, and observations to assess students' progress. Findings indicate significant improvements in students' technical knowledge, physical fitness, and mental resilience. As students progressed through the training, they developed greater self-confidence, enhanced discipline, and stronger stress management abilities. The study also observed improvements in teamwork, focus, and adaptability, all of which contributed to the students' mental resilience. These findings support the hypothesis that martial arts training, specifically Shorinji Kempo, plays a significant role in fostering resilience, helping students navigate challenges both in and outside the training environment.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi penerapan sistem pendidikan alternatif yang diterapkan di PKBM Madani Hebat, yang memanfaatkan pendekatan pembelajaran daring dan metode Project-Based Learning (PBL), serta keterlibatan orang tua melalui sistem Parent and Family Involvement (PFI). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem ini berhasil menciptakan lingkungan pembelajaran yang fleksibel dan efektif, terutama bagi siswa yang menghadapi kendala sosial, geografis, fisik, dan mental. Keterlibatan orang tua terbukti memainkan peran kunci dalam mendukung keberhasilan pembelajaran, baik secara langsung di rumah maupun dalam kegiatan daring. Penelitian ini juga mengungkapkan bahwa PBL membantu siswa mengembangkan keterampilan praktis dan meningkatkan motivasi belajar mereka. Berdasarkan temuan ini, rekomendasi diberikan untuk meningkatkan akses teknologi, pelatihan orang tua, kemitraan dengan komunitas lokal, dan pengembangan kurikulum berbasis PBL.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis implementasi model Rumah Magang di PKBM Madani Hebat, yang berkembang dari HEbAT Community, sebagai upaya mengintegrasikan pendidikan karakter dengan pengembangan soft skills seperti kepemimpinan, komunikasi, dan etika kerja. Program ini mengombinasikan pengalaman kerja langsung dengan bimbingan nilai-nilai kehidupan, sehingga efektif meningkatkan keterampilan sosial, profesionalisme, dan kesiapan peserta dalam menghadapi tantangan global. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan ini tidak hanya membekali peserta dengan keterampilan teknis, tetapi juga memperkuat karakter yang dibutuhkan dalam kehidupan profesional dan sosial, menjadikannya model relevan untuk pendidikan berbasis pengalaman.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi tantangan dalam implementasi kurikulum SA Way yang menekankan pada penguatan nilai spiritual dan pengembangan karakter siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa beberapa hambatan utama yang dihadapi adalah rendahnya keterlibatan orang tua (33%), kesulitan dalam mengintegrasikan nilai spiritual dengan aspek akademik (67%), keterbatasan dalam penyusunan asesmen karakter (33%), minimnya ketersediaan bahan ajar yang sesuai dengan prinsip SA Way (33%), serta keberagaman latar belakang keluarga siswa (33%). Temuan ini mengindikasikan perlunya strategi penguatan sinergi antara sekolah dan keluarga, pelatihan guru untuk integrasi nilai spiritual-akademik, serta pengembangan sumber belajar yang kontekstual dan relevan. Dengan mengatasi berbagai tantangan tersebut, kurikulum SA Way diharapkan mampu menjadi pendekatan pendidikan yang holistik, adaptif, dan efektif dalam membentuk karakter siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif-konseptual untuk mengevaluasi Rumah Magang HEbAT sebagai inovasi pendidikan berbasis pengalaman yang menguatkan karakter dan eksplorasi minat siswa SMP dan SMA di Indonesia. Data diperoleh melalui analisis dokumen, observasi partisipatif, dan refleksi lapangan dari berbagai wilayah. Hasil menunjukkan Rumah Magang HEbAT efektif mengembangkan kemandirian, kemampuan sosial, dan kesadaran karier siswa serta mendukung kurikulum Merdeka. Rekomendasi meliputi integrasi magang dalam kurikulum nasional, pengembangan model nasional, pelatihan sekolah, dan penelitian lanjutan untuk dampak jangka panjang.

Abstract

Penelitian deskriptif kualitatif ini mengkaji peran program Edutrip dalam meningkatkan kesiapan menghadapi ketidakpastian pada siswa Paket B di PKBM Alam Jingga. Dengan teknik purposive sampling, 11 siswa yang mengikuti minimal satu sesi Edutrip dalam satu tahun akademik terakhir dipilih sebagai partisipan. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dan kuesioner reflektif terbuka. Analisis tematik dengan validasi sumber data digunakan untuk memastikan ketepatan dan kedalaman hasil penelitian. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa siswa menggunakan strategi koping ganda, yaitu kombinasi kemandirian dan meminta bantuan, dalam menghadapi ketidakpastian. Respon emosional negatif seperti panik dan menyerah menurunkan tingkat kesiapan mereka. Program Edutrip efektif memperkuat ketahanan mental, pengendalian emosi, adaptabilitas, serta keterampilan pengambilan keputusan kritis. Rekomendasi penelitian adalah melanjutkan program dengan dukungan lebih baik pada mekanisme koping emosional dan kognitif agar siswa lebih siap menghadapi tantangan tak terduga.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan studi kasus kualitatif untuk mengeksplorasi penerapan pembelajaran berbasis scenario planning dan dampaknya terhadap siswa di PKBM Madani Hebat. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari siswa Program Paket B dan Paket C yang dipilih secara purposive. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner dan wawancara semi-terstruktur, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis tematik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa mengalami perubahan positif berupa sikap optimis terhadap masa depan, peralihan pola pikir dari fixed mindset ke growth mindset, serta peningkatan kesadaran spiritual. Peran fasilitator terbukti signifikan dalam mendukung perkembangan emosional dan spiritual siswa. Implikasi penelitian menegaskan pentingnya integrasi aspek kognitif dan spiritual dalam pembelajaran agar siswa dapat tumbuh secara holistik dan berkontribusi positif bagi masyarakat.

Abstract

This study explores the dynamics of parent-school collaboration in the design of online curricula for non-formal education institutions in East Java Province, Indonesia. Against the backdrop of increasing reliance on digital learning platforms, particularly within community-based educational centers like PKBM, the research addresses a critical gap in understanding how parental involvement can enhance the relevance, accessibility, and effectiveness of online learning. Guided by theories on parenting, educational design, and cultural contextualization, the study adopts a qualitative design-based research approach. Using purposive sampling, data were collected through in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, and document analysis involving educators, parents, and administrators from selected non-formal schools. Thematic analysis revealed several key findings: (1) parent-school collaboration significantly improves curriculum contextualization by incorporating cultural and familial values; (2) communication channels and engagement strategies require structured facilitation to be effective; and (3) such collaboration positively impacts student engagement and learning outcomes. The study concludes that meaningful stakeholder engagement, especially with parents, is essential for tailoring online curricula in non-formal settings, thereby offering a sustainable model for inclusive education across diverse communities in Indonesia.
