Abstract

Abstract

Interpersonal relationship quality plays a crucial role in psychological well-being, particularly among Generation Z, who increasingly experience emotional anxiety in modern social contexts. This study aims to examine the role of emotional anxiety in the quality of interpersonal relationships in Generation Z and to investigate whether attachment style functions as a moderating variable in this relationship. The study employed a quantitative correlational design. Participants were individuals from Generation Z aged 13–28 years, recruited using convenience sampling and completing online questionnaires. The instruments used were the Quality of Relationships Inventory, the Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7, and the Adult Attachment Scale measuring close, depend, and anxiety dimensions. Data were analyzed using Jamovi with the MedMod module to test direct and moderation effects. The results showed that emotional anxiety had a significant but relatively weak effect on interpersonal relationship quality. In contrast, all three dimensions of attachment style had significant positive effects on relationship quality but did not moderate the relationship between emotional anxiety and interpersonal relationship quality. In conclusion, emotional anxiety and attachment style independently contribute to interpersonal relationship quality among Generation Z. This study contributes to the literature by clarifying the independent roles of emotional anxiety and attachment style in shaping interpersonal relationship quality, particularly within the psychosocial context of Generation Z.

Abstract

Quality of Work Life (QWL) encompasses factors that shape employee satisfaction, well-being, and happiness in the workplace. This study examines the relationship between quality of work life and humor types in the workplace, with compassion as a moderating variable. Humor is conceptualized as verbal and non-verbal communication that elicits cognitive or affective responses, while compassion reflects sensitivity to the suffering of others, coupled with a desire to alleviate it. The sample consisted of 179 hospital nurses in the Jabodetabek area who completed questionnaires assessing the quality of work life, humor types, and compassion. Data analysis using SPSS 22 revealed that positive humor, such as self-enhancing and affiliative humor, was related to quality of work life, whereas negative humor, such as self-defeating and aggressive humor, showed no significant relationship. Compassion moderated the relationship between positive humor and quality of work life. These findings highlight the importance of fostering compassion in hospital nurses to enhance their quality of work life.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the mediating role of work engagement in the relationship between work family conflict and job performance. Work engagement is a positive work-related state of mind characterized by vigor, dedication and absorption. Work family conflict is a form of conflict between roles as professionals and roles in the family. Job performance is a description of tasks / work or work behavior as an employee in a company company. Participants in the study totaled 360 with the characteristics of women who are married (mothers), with school-age children, and work in a company. The measuring instrument used to measure work engagement is the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale 9 (Schaufeli et al, 2006). The measuring instrument used to measure work family conflict is the WFC & FWC Scale (Netemeyer et al., 1996). The measuring instrument used to measure job performance is the Individual Work Performance Questionnaire (IWPQ; Koopmans et al., 2014). Based on data analysis using the Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) method, work engagement can mediate the relationship between work family conflict with task performance and contextual performance. The implication of the results of this study is that it can explain the relationship between work family conflict and job performance mediated by work engagement. In addition, the results of this study can be the basis for policy making to create a supportive environment for women to work optimally in the world of work.

Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to provide positive parenting training for parents of students at Tarakanita 3 Junior High School in Jakarta, involving 56 participants. This activity combines psychoeducation, inner child reflection, and emotional regulation exercises to help change parents' disciplinary patterns from a reactive-punitive approach to positive discipline based on the principle of “connection before correction.” The PKM was conducted in two sessions that emphasized self-awareness, mapping childhood parenting experiences, grounding and breathing techniques, and role-playing parenting responses in everyday situations. Qualitative data was collected through observation, focused discussions, and written evaluation sheets. The results showed an increase in parents' awareness of the connection between childhood trauma, emotions during parenting, and ways of correcting children. Participants also reported their intention to exercise more restraint before correcting, use positive language, and restore relationships after conflict. This parenting model was assessed positively for building healthier parenting of adolescents.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the increasing complaints of mental fatigue among late adolescents to early adults, especially in urban areas that are full of academic, social, and digital pressures. This condition makes internal factors such as self-esteem and social factors such as approval motivation important to review. This study aims to understand the relationship between self-esteem and mental fatigue, as well as to determine whether approval motivation plays a role in influencing this relationship. The study used a quantitative approach with a correlational design. There were 285 participants aged 17 to 28 years. The instruments used included a mental fatigue scale, a self-esteem scale, and an approval motivation scale. All data were obtained through an online survey and analyzed using regression and moderation analysis techniques. The results showed that self-esteem had a negative relationship with mental fatigue, meaning that individuals with higher self-esteem tended to experience lower mental fatigue. Meanwhile, approval motivation was not found to influence the relationship between self-esteem and mental fatigue. These findings confirm that self-assessment plays a greater role in determining the mental condition of late adolescents to early adults than the drive to obtain social approval. In conclusion, strengthening self-esteem is an important aspect in efforts to maintain mental well-being in this age group.
