Abstract

Life expectancy has only increased by 0.02 per year, with a life expectancy achievement ratio in 2018 of only 86.15%. Several main factors, one of which is the community's ability to obtain health services. This research aims to determine the performance of elderly posyandu cadres in the working area of the Sidorejo Community Health Center, Pagar Alam City in 2024. Type of quantitative research, analytical design with a cross-sectional approach. The population of this study was all elderly posyandu cadres in the working area of the Sidorejo Community Health Center, Pagar Alam City, namely 105 cadres. The sample was calculated using the Slovin technique so that the sample was 105 cadres. Univariate, bivariate data analysis using chi square and multivariate using multiple logistic regression tests. The research results showed that there was a significant relationship between knowledge (p=0.008) attitude (p=0.027) service (p=0.007) and the performance of elderly Posyandu cadres. The independent variables age, gender and education do not have a significant relationship with the performance of elderly Posyandu cadres. The most dominant factor related to the performance of elderly posyandu cadres in the working area of the Sidorejo Health Center, Pagar Alam City in 2024 is the service variable (p = 0.017 OR = 3.295). This research suggests conducting outreach to the community about the importance of using posyandu and providing training or monthly meetings to cadres.

Abstract

Tidal waters in the UPTD Puskesmas Muara Telang Banyuasin Regency cause river water to become salty during the dry season this is due to the habits of the community who defecate and throw garbage in the river. Data from the puskesmas for the months of January-June 2024 found 43 cases of toddlers who experienced diarrhea. This study aims to determine the results of the analysis of environmental factors on the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers in the working area of the Muara Telang Health Center, Banyuasin Regency in 2024. The method in this study was a quantitative observational survey analytic approach with a cross sectional design. Started on June 14, 2024-July 31, 2024. The population in this study were all mothers who brought toddlers to the health center, the sample in this study using the lemeshow formula obtained a sample of 60 toddlers. Accidental sampling technique. data analysis using univariate, bivariate and multivariate analysis. Instruments in the study Questionnaires and stationery. The results showed the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers as much as (58.3%). The results of bivariate analysis showed there was a relationship between age (p 0.016), gender (p 0.073), water quality (p 0.000), sewerage (p 0.044), and garbage disposal (p 0.025) with the incidence of diarrhea. The results of multivariate analysis of physical water quality variable is the factor that has the strongest relationship compared to other factors P value 0.000 (OlR 40.127).  Further research is needed to fill the existing knowledge gaps related to the relationship between environmental factors and the incidence of diarrhea in toddlers.

Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is caused by the dengue virus transmitted by the Aedes aegypti mosquito or Aedes albopictus. The characteristics of the infectious vector determine the spread and timing of the occurrence of infection. The habitat of aedes mosquitoes is generally in regions with tropical climates, high rainfall, and hot and humid temperatures. The design of this study is quantitative with a cross sectional approach. The sample in this study uses a total sampling technique of 45 samples. The data analysis presented was using univariate, bivariate and multivariate analysis. The results of this study were obtained as age variables with a pvalue of 0.012, education pvalue 0.028, house ventilation pvalue 0.016, water shelter condition pvalue 0.000, mosquito repellent with pvalue 0.014, clothes hanging place pvalue 0.016, waste disposal system pvalue 0.016.  From dengue patients at the Muaradua Health Center, the condition of water reservoirs is the one that has the strongest effect compared to other facts (OlR 67,867). This can be interpreted if the respondent has an unhealthy water reservoir, he will have a risk of 67,867 times to suffer from dengue, and if he is old, he will have a similar risk.

Abstract

Background: Pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) is influenced by both environmental and behavioral factors. The number of pulmonary TB cases in the working area of the UPTD Palembang Social Health Centre during 2022–2024 has fluctuated and remains below the expected target. This situation indicates the need for a comprehensive analysis to identify factors influencing the occurrence and transmission of TB, considering environmental and individual characteristics. Objective: This study aimed to analyze the relationship between individual characteristics, behavioral factors, and environmental conditions with the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis. Methods: This study employed a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. The population consisted of all patients visiting the DOTS Poly at UPTD Puskesmas Sosial in 2024, totaling 433 individuals. Using purposive sampling, 81 respondents were selected. Data were collected from May to June 2025 and analyzed through univariate frequency distribution, bivariate chi-square tests, and multivariate multiple logistic regression. Results: The results showed that age (p = 0.278) and education (p = 0.732) were not significantly related to pulmonary TB incidence. However, gender (p = 0.002; OR = 10.410), smoking habits (p = 0.002; OR = 11.778), ventilation (p = 0.001; OR = 51.750), and humidity (p = 0.001; OR = 14.233) were significantly associated. Among these, smoking habits were the most dominant factor influencing TB incidence. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between gender, smoking habits, ventilation, and humidity with the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis. Smoking habits emerged as the most dominant risk factor. Health campaigns, counseling, and education about pulmonary TB prevention should be strengthened, especially targeting high-risk groups and promoting healthy living environments.

Abstract

Background: Quality healthcare services in hospital settings must comply with established standards to ensure patient safety and satisfaction. Noncompliance with these standards may lead to dissatisfaction and potential malpractice. However, there is limited research assessing patient satisfaction with the quality of healthcare services among schizophrenic patients at the outpatient mental health unit of Ernaldi Bahar Hospital, South Sumatra Province. Objective: This study aimed to analyze the factors affecting patient satisfaction with the quality of healthcare services among schizophrenia patients at the outpatient mental health clinic of Ernaldi Bahar Hospital. Methods: This quantitative research employed a cross-sectional design. The study population comprised 7,463 patients who visited the outpatient mental health unit of Ernaldi Bahar Hospital between January and March 2025. Using purposive sampling, 100 respondents were selected. Data were collected in May 2025 through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using univariate, bivariate, and multivariate logistic regression tests. Results: The results revealed that several variables were significantly associated with patient satisfaction: education level (p = 0.068; OR = 0.462; 95% CI: 0.200–1.067), tangibles (p = 0.034; OR = 2.428; 95% CI: 1.062–5.552), assurance (p = 0.000; OR = 5.802; 95% CI: 2.076–16.217), and responsiveness (p = 0.098; OR = 2.595; 95% CI: 0.817–8.243). The dominant influencing factors were assurance and responsiveness, indicating that patients valued the reliability and promptness of service. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between education level, tangibles, assurance, and responsiveness with patient satisfaction among schizophrenic patients receiving outpatient care. Assurance and responsiveness were the most dominant predictors of satisfaction. Enhancing responsiveness—particularly in promptly addressing patient complaints, requests, and emotional needs—alongside maintaining assurance through professional competence and empathy, can improve overall service quality and satisfaction.
