Abstract

Career choice is one of the important decisions in students' lives, especially vocational students who are directed to enter the world of work after graduation. This research aims to analyze the implementation of Holland's theory in supporting vocational students' career decision making. The method used is literature review, by collecting, evaluating, and synthesizing various relevant literatures. Holland's theory, which bases on the relationship between personality type and work environment through the RIASEC model, provides a systematic framework to help students understand their potential and choose an appropriate career. The results show that the application of Holland's theory can improve students' understanding of career choices relevant to their personality types. Through personality assessment, career information provision, and systematic planning, students are guided to make more mature and purposeful career decisions. The implementation of this theory not only helps students reduce confusion in choosing a career but also prepares them to face the challenges of the world of work. The conclusion of this study confirms that Holland's theory is an effective approach in career guidance services for vocational students. This theory is relevant to be applied in helping students understand the relationship between their potential and the world of work, as well as supporting better career decision making.

Abstract

Students' career understanding, especially at the high school level, is often a significant challenge due to their lack of knowledge about their potential and the world of work. This study aims to analyze the implementation of Trait and Factor theory in improving students' career understanding through literature review. The research method used is literature review by collecting, evaluating, and synthesizing related literature from relevant journals, books, and scientific articles. Data sources were selected based on relevance to the topic, recency, and academic validity. The results showed that the Trait and Factor approach is effective in helping students understand their potential, reduce career confusion, and improve career decision-making ability. Through systematic guidance and counseling services, this approach facilitates students to match their personal characteristics with the demands of the world of work. In addition, counselors play a strategic role in providing assessment, career information, and ongoing support to students to achieve appropriate career decisions. The conclusion of this study confirms that Trait and Factor theory can be a strong foundation in the implementation of career counseling services to improve students' career understanding. Proper implementation of this approach not only helps students in making career decisions but also prepares them for the challenges of transitioning to the world of work or higher education.

Abstract

Career readiness of high school students is an important aspect that needs attention, especially because they are in the transition period to higher education or the world of work. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Super Life Span theory in supporting high school students' career readiness through a literature review approach. Super Life Span theory offers a comprehensive framework for understanding individual career development throughout life, with a focus on self-concept and stages of exploration. This review collects and analyzes the results of various studies related to the application of Super theory in career guidance services. The results of the analysis show that the implementation of Super Life Span theory is effective in helping students recognize their potential, interests, and personal values. Career guidance services based on this theory are also proven to support more mature and purposeful career decision-making through a structured service program, including personality assessment, career information provision, and individual needs-based planning. In addition, Super theory shows flexibility in being applied to modern career contexts, such as creative and technology-based industries. The conclusion of this study confirms that Super Life Span theory is a relevant and effective approach to enhance high school students' career readiness. The theory not only helps students understand their career development but also provides a practical framework for counselors in designing more adaptive and strategic career guidance services.
