Abstract

The purpose of this research was to examine the effect of phytohormone and its concentration on germination of 1-week storage G. versteegii’s seeds. Factorial Completely Randomize Design was used with two factors: type of phytohormone (J1:Atonik, J2:gibberellic acid) and phytohormone concentration (K1:200ppm, K2:400ppm). ANOVA shows that phytohormone concentration was the only factor that has a significant difference at α=0.05. Four hundred ppm was an ideal concentration that supports G. versteegii’s seed's better germination rate on atonic and gibberellic acid. However, gibberellic acid has supported a better germination rate than atonic at 400 ppm concentration. It is concluded that gibberellic acid at 400 ppm concentration is the best treatment for G. versteegii germination.

Abstract

Penduduk Desa Kekait Puncang adalah petani gaharu tradisional dan telah memproduksi benih gaharu selama lebih dari 25 tahun. Produksi benih gaharu secara tradisional memiliki keterbatasan pada tingkat efisiensi produksi yang rendah. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi produksi dengan ilmu terapan dan teknologi berupa rumah kaca, rak benih dan mikoriza arbuscular. Rumah kaca berbahan bambu, plastik dan paranet dengan ukuran 3 mx 7 m. Rak benih terbuat dari besi siku-siku serbaguna dan kawat kasa 0,5 cm2. Pasir zeolit yang diinokulasi mikoriza arbuskular digunakan pada pembibitan biji gaharu untuk meningkatkan persentase perkecambahan. Rumah kaca dapat memberikan kondisi yang optimal bagi benih gaharu untuk tumbuh dan berkembang. Rak benih dapat meningkatkan kapasitas produksi benih gaharu hingga 12.000 benih untuk setiap rumah kaca. Jumlah ini jauh lebih baik dibandingkan sebelum penerapan rak benih. Perkecambahan biji gaharu dapat ditingkatkan hingga 80% dengan aplikasi mikoriza arbuskular. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan greenhouse, rak benih dan mikoriza dapat meningkatkan efisiensi produksi benih gaharu yang bermanfaat bagi masyarakat Desa Kekait Puncang sebagai penghasil benih gaharu.Pkm Gaharu Breeding Group in Kekait Puncang Village to Increase Seed Production EfficiencyAbstractThe Villager of Kekait Puncangis a traditional agarwood farmer and has been producing agarwood seed for over 25 years. Production of agarwood seed by traditional method has limitation in the low rate of producing efficiency. This community service aim is to enhance producing efficiency by applied science and technology in form of greenhouse, seed rack and mycorrhiza arbuscular. Greenhouse made from bamboo, plastic and paranet with size of 3 m x 7 m. Seed rack made from multipurpose right-angle iron stick and 0.5 cm2screen wire. Zeolite sand inoculated by mycorrhiza arbuscular were used in seedling of agarwood seed to enhance germination percentage. Greenhouse could give optimum condition for agarwood seed to growth and develop. Seed rack could increase agarwood seed producing capacity up to 12.000 seeds for each greenhouse. This amount was much better than before application of seed rack. Germination of agarwood seed could be increase up to 80% by application of mycorrhiza arbuscular. It could be concluded that application of greenhouse, seed rack and mycorrhiza could increase producing efficiency of agarwood seed that give benefit for Kekait Puncang Villager as agarwood seed producer.

Abstract

Tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk memberikan pembinaan bagi para petani Desa Duman khususnya istri mereka untuk mengoptimalkan pertumbuhan pohon gaharu mereka melalui aplikasi pendorong pertumbuhan dan pemangkasan. Peserta pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah istri Petani Desa Duman. Pengabdian masyarakat ini diawali dengan sosialisasi tentang pentingnya mendorong pertumbuhan dan pemangkasan pada budidaya gaharu. Kemudian, para peserta diberi kesempatan untuk mempraktekkan teori yang mereka peroleh dari sosialisasi. Fitohormon giberelin adalah penginduksi pertumbuhan yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini. Dosis fitohormon tersebut adalah 1 gr untuk 2 liter air. Pemangkasan dilakukan dengan menebang cabang pucuk pohon gaharu menggunakan gunting tanaman. Daun dari cabang yang sudah dipotong pada kegiatan pemangkasan dapat diolah menjadi teh gaharu. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa peserta telah memahami tentang penerapan pendorong pertumbuhan dan pemangkasan untuk mengoptimalkan pertumbuhan pohon gaharu.Application of Growth Regulators and Pruning Activities in Optimizing Agarwood Cultivation in Duman Village, Lingsar District, West LombokAbstractThe aim of this community service is to give training for farmers of Duman Village, especially their wife, to optimize growth of their agarwood tree by application of promoting growth inducer and pruning. The participants on this community service were Farmers’s wife of Duman Village. This community service started by socialization about the important of promoting growth inducer and pruning activity on agarwood cultivation. Then, the participants were given an opportunity to practice the theory that they got from the socialization. Gibberellins phytohormone was the promoting growth inducer that was used in this activity. The dose of that phytohormone was 1 gr for 2 liter water. Pruning activity was conducted by cutting top branch of agarwood tree using plant scissors. Leaves from branch that has been cut on the pruning activity could be processed to produce agarwood tea. It could be concluded that participant has already understood about application of promoting growth inducer and pruning activity to optimize growth of agarwood tree.

Abstract

Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan tentang pengelolaan budidaya gaharu sebagai investasi prospektif bagi anggota Kelompok Karang Taruna di Desa Kekait Puncang. Pengabdian masyarakat ini menggunakan dua tahap, yaitu tahap teori dan tahap praktek. Hasil kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa anggota kelompok Karang Taruna Kekait Puncang telah memahami diversifikasi produk dari skema investasi gaharu dan metode pemanfaatan produk-produk tersebut dari berbagai organ gaharu. Berdasarkan hasil kegiatan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa anggota Kelompok Karang Taruna Kekait Puncang telah memahami produk investasi gaharu dan juga telah memulai investasi gaharu dengan pengelolaan pembibitan gaharu yang baik. Uraian detail terkait hasil kegiatan disajikan dalam badan artikel ini.Empowerment of Karang Taruna Group of Kekait Pucang Village on Optimization of Agarwood Investment from Gyrinops Versteegii SpeciesAbstractThis community service aims to provide training on the management of agarwood cultivation as a prospective investment for members of the Karang Taruna Group in Kekait Puncang Village. This community service uses two stages, namely the theory stage and the practical stage. The results of this activity indicate that the members of the Karang Taruna Kekait Puncang group have understood the product diversification of the agarwood investment scheme and the methods of using these products from various gaharu organs. Based on the results of the activity, it can be concluded that the members of the Puncang Kekait Youth Organization have understood the investment product of agarwood and have also started agarwood investment with good management of agarwood nurseries. Detailed descriptions related to the results of the activities are presented in the body of this article.

Abstract

G. versteegii leaves is a raw material of agarwood tea product that needs to be further analyzed by extraction method. The aim of this research is to examine the effectiveness of G. versteegii leaves extraction based on the maceration method. G. versteegii’s leaves were taken from Duman Village West Lombok. Nusa Tenggara Barat. This research used a Completely Randomized Design with factorial arrangement of two treatment factors investigated under 3 replications each as follows: leaves processing (P1=fresh leaves, P2= dried leaves) and extraction solvent (S1=ethanol, S2= ethyl acetate, S3=Aquadest). Crude extract weight data were analyzed using ANOVA and DMRT at 5% level of significance. The result has shown that Main factors and interaction factors were significantly affected crude extract weight. Dried leaves have a higher crude extract weight than fresh leaves. Ethanol has the highest crude extract weight among others extraction solvents. There was a positive relation of interaction factor between leaves processing and extraction solvent. It could be concluded that leaves drying and ethanol solvent are the treatments that could support the effective extraction method of G. versteegii leaves based on the maceration method.

Abstract

Biji asam termasuk biji ortodok yang umumnya mengalamimasa dormansi. Agar dapat tumbuh, biji asammembutuhkan suatu perlakuan pendahuluan untuk mematahkan dormansinya salah satunya adalah dengan perlakuan perendaman asam sulfat (H 2 SO 4 ). Oleh karena itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1). Mengetahui Pengaruh Lama Perendaman H 2 SO 4 Terhadap Pematahan Dormansi Biji Asam (Tamarindus indica L.).   2). Mengetahui Pengaruh Lama Perendaman Terhadap Pertumbuhan Bibit Asam (Tamarindus indica L.). Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimental Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pematahan dormansi biji asam menggunakan H 2 . Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan mengggunakan analisis ragam Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan perlakuan lama perendaman sebagai berikut: 5 menit, 10 menit, 15 menit dengan H 2 pekat. Pematahan dormansi biji asam diukur dengan tiga parameter yaitu lama perkecambahan, persentase perkecambahan, dan daya kecambah, sedangkan pertumbuhan bibit asam diukur dengan empat parameter yaitu tinggi batang, diameter batang, jumlah daun dan panjang akar. Analisis data dengan memggunakan uji anova dan di analisis dengan menggunakan program Co-Stat For Windows. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perendaman asam sulfat pekat dengan perlakuan lama perendaman yang paling efektif dalam pematahan dormansi terhadap perkecambahan biji Asam  (Tamarindus indica L) yaitu pada perlakuan perendaman 10 menit (P2). Begitupun dengan lama perendaman asam sulfat pekat terhadap pertumbuhan bibit asam, perlakuan perendaman yang paling efektif yaitu pada perlakuan perendaman 10 menit (P2).

Abstract

Gyrinops versteegii merupakan spesies tanaman penghasilan gaharu endemik pulau Lombok. Komoditi ini merupakan salah satu jenis hasil hutan bukan kayu yang memiliki nilai jual tinggi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh komposisi media tumbuh dan jenis biofertilizer terhadap pertumbuhan bibit gaharu (G. versteegii). Percobaan menggunakan Rancangan acak Lengkap Faktorial dengan dua faktor. Faktor pertama adalah komposisi media tumbuh (M1: tanah:pasir = 1:2, M2: tanah:pasir = 2:1). Faktor kedua adalah jenis Biofertilizer (B1:EM4, B2: FMA). Berdasarkan ANOVA, faktor jenis biofertilizer yang berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi batang bibit G. versteegii. Faktor komposisi media tumbuh tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap tinggi batang bibit G. versteegii begitu pula dengan interaksi antar faktor. Uji Beda Nyata Jujur mengkonfirmasi bahwa FMA mampu mendukung pertumbuhan bibit lebih baik dibandingkan dengan EM4. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa faktor jenis biofertilizer lebih berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan bibit gaharu dibandingkan dengan komposisi media tumbuh dengan kecenderungan FMA mampu mendukung pertumbuhan bibit G. versteegii secara optimal.

Abstract

Bioethanol is a future renewable energy for gasoline substitution. Market need for bioethanol has been increased significantly in a decade. That will lead to unbalance between bioethanol supply and bioethanol demand if bioethanol production only come from starch and sugar source (first generation of bioethanol). Using lignocellulose waste (second generation of bioethanol) which abundand in Indonesia is one of good solution for this problem. Rice Straw production in Indonesia approximately 103.57 million ton in a year which make it is the most abundant lignocellulosa waste in this country. Optimizing bioethanol production using rice straw need two adjustment step. First step is adjustment in pre-treatment which important to breakdown insoluble lignin from the waste. Second step is selecting bioconvertion agent that has ability to carry single step fermentation process. Thermophilic clostridium is one of best bioconvertion agent for this process which has several advantage compare to others bioconvertion agent. This will lead to increase of bioethanol production to balance between bioethanol supplay and bioethanol demand.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to compare topology of dendrogram and cladogram of G. versteegii and others Gyrinops members for polyphasic taxonomy approach. Character of leaf, stem, flower and fruit of Gyrinops member were used for numeric phenetic analysis. On the other hands, trnL-trnF interspacer of chloroplast gene sequence were used for phylogenetic analysis. MVSP 3.1A were used for dendrogram construction using Simple Matching Coefficient and Jaccard’s Coefficient as clustering method. Co-stat cohor 6 were used for cophenetic correlation analysis. Multiple sequence alignment of trnL – trnF was carried by ClustalX 2.1 program. MEGA program was used for reconstruction of cladogram. This cladogram uses two different approach algorithms including: Neighbor Joining and Maximum Likelihood with 1000 bootstrap replication. Sequences similarity matrix analysis were carried by Phydit program with cut off value 99% for each Gyrinops members. Based on result, simple matching dendrogram has the same topology as Jaccard’s dendrogram. Cophenetic correlation analysis also confirm that there is no distortion on clustering analysis of these two dendrograms. On the other hand, Neighbor Joining cladogram has different topology from Maximum Likelihood cladogram. Similarity analysis of trnL-trnF sequence shows that each member of Gyrinops has strong phylogenetic relationship. Comparation of dendrogram and cladogram of G. versteegii with other Gyrinops members confirm that this species has different clustering group on dendrogram and cladogram. It could be concluded that G. versteegii has unique phylogenetic relationship and similarity relationship with others Gyrinops members.

Abstract

Aquilaria and Gyrinops are the most common genera of Agarwood in Indonesia. These two group have wide distribution in Indonesia. Therefore, Indonesia is one of the biggest agarwood commodity producer in the world. However, the resin on agarwood stem is still main utilization of agarwood commodity in this country. Diversification agarwood utilization other than resin is needed to maximilize the potency of this commodity. Agarwood leaves are one of by product from agarwood cultivation that rarely been utilized. Agarwood leaves contain secondary metabolites that have medical effect such as Phenol, Flavonoid, Terpenoid , Alkaloid and Tannin. Thus, agarwood leaves has a good potency as a source of food and beverage product that have a medicinal effects. Agarwood leaves form Aquilaria group and Gyrinops group both have medicinal effect including antioxidant, antibacterial, cytotoxic and anticancer. Aquilaria leaves also has additional medicinal effect including: anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic and laxative while Gyrinops leaves also has additional medicinal effect as antiradical source of sunscreen.
