Abstract

Ultrafiltration membranes include a type of porous membrane with a porous size order between 0.01 – 0.1 ?m. The size of the small pores can be made phase inverse. Ultrafiltration is used to separate macromolecules and colloids from their solutions. The ultrafiltrated membrane has an asymmetrical structure with a denser upper layer (the porous size is smaller than the lower surface porosity), so the hydrodynamic retention will be larger. The objective of this study is to optimize the regular coagulation tub on the 19% PSf membrane manufacturing process with DMF solvent and to optimise the performance of the optimum PSF membrane in the processing of liquid waste of the PKS (palm coconut plant) with the ultrafiltration process. In the membrane performance testing process, the materials and tools used are polysulfonic polymers with dimethylformamide (DMF) solvents, whereas the instruments used are a set of ultrafiltration modules consisting of a centrifugal pump, ultra-filtration cell, pressure gauge, barrel, permeation tank, feed tank, and hose. This phase of the study starts with membrane preparation, SEM analysis, initial analysis of PCS liquid waste sample, 19% membrane operation performance test with coagulation bath temperature variable 40; 50; 60  C and adjusting pressure with variation 5; 10; 15; 20; 25 Psi, then determining membrane performance test which is permeability, flow, and rejection coefficients. The results obtained from this study show that a 19% PsfDMF membrane with a coagulation bath temperature of 50 C is the membrane that has the most optimum performance used for the POME wastewater treatment

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to study the process of processing approval letters for loading dangerous goods and the obstacles at the Dumai Class I Harbormaster and Port Authority Office at PT. Sinar Maritim Anugerah Dumai Branch. In writing the paper the author used field observation methods (Field Research) and library methods (Library Research) related to the subject matter taken. In the ship agency, the company carries out activities to process permits for unloading dangerous goods. Processing the approval letter for loading dangerous goods goes through several stages starting from making an application letter for loading dangerous goods by the ship agent, paying Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) or PUP for one activity, completing the requirements attached to the application for permission to unload dangerous goods , permission to load dangerous goods from the loading port, B/L and manifest. Then hand it over to the administrative and administrative division for issuing permits for loading and unloading dangerous goods and then hand it over to the Head of Harbormaster and Port Authority (KSOP) for signing. The obstacles faced by companies in processing permits to load dangerous goods consist of obstacles from the company and at the harbormaster's office. On the other hand, in the process of processing permits to load dangerous goods, companies pay more attention to the accuracy of staff to avoid mistakes in completing the requirements for processing permits to load dangerous goods.

Abstract

Shipping companies have an important role in providing services to ships visiting a port. Shipping companies appointed as agents are the parties that will be responsible for taking care of everything so that the ships they represent can dock properly, on time, and smoothly in carrying out their activities at the port. Ship agency services are needed to assist the process of clearance in and out of ships at a port in order to create conducive ship activities. This study was conducted to determine the role of agencies in serving the clearance in and out process and the factors that hinder the ship clearance process using a manual system at PT. Bama Putra Sukses Bogor. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type. Data collection for this study was carried out using observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The results of this study showed that the role of agencies in serving ship clearance in and out with a manual system at PT. Bama Putra Sukses Bogor is a series of ship clearance processes from ship entry to ship exit. Agents play a role in providing their services to ship owners in ship clearance services that are oriented towards managing ship documents in order to facilitate the loading and unloading process. Factors that hinder the clearance in and out process at PT. Bama Putra Sukses consist of expired documents and problems waiting for the destination port or called waiting next port.

Abstract

As a shipping company that operates in the agency sector and handles its own routine ships in transporting coal, PT. The Long Branch Adhiguna Ark Shipping also handles ship documents. A ship is declared seaworthy or can sail to carry and unload goods if it is equipped with ship documents that have been approved by the harbormaster. The harbormaster only asks for these documents specifically for local ships. Almost every ship document that is being loaded at the special terminal of PT. Bukit Asam, which is served by an agency company, experienced document deays. The result of deays in this document can affect the ship's activities/activities at the port. One of them is that the ship is removed first from the special port of PT. Bukit Asam (Persero) because it has exceeded the specified waiting time limit. So the ship will return to anchorage, waiting for the exit document process to be completed. The length of time the document process was completed hampered the ship's departure to fulfill its trip (voyage), thereby reducing coal deiveries for the PLTU's needs and this gave rise to complaints from the PLTU. One solution is for the agent to frequently coordinate with reated parties for the smooth running of activities.

Abstract

Peserta dari kegiatan ini terdiri dari para nelayan dan penduduk sekitaran pelabuhan yang berada di pesisir Pelabuhan Pangkalan Susu yang memiliki mata pencaharian sehari-hari adalah berlayar, misalnya nelayan atau nakhoda kapal penyeberangan dari pulau ke pulau. Berdasarkan hasil observasi dan interview yang dilakukan tim pengusul Politeknik Adiguna maritim Indonesia (POLTEK AMI) Medan terhadap masyarakat di daerah Desa Pulau Kampai, bagaimana cara mengatasi pelestariaan lingkungan dan pencemaran laut yang terjadi di daerah pesisir Desa Pulau Kampai. Sementara itu laut merupakan sumber kehidupan bagi masyarakat setepat khususnya para nelayan berada di Desa Pulau kampai di Kabupaten Langkat. Maka tim Politeknik Adiguna Maritim Indonesia (POLTEK-AMI) Medan ingin mensosialisasikan pelestarian lingkungan dan bahaya pencemaran dilaut baik itu sampah,limbah industri maupun limbah minyak atau yang lainnya. Tim Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat beserta kepala daerah setempat bekerja sama untuk melakukan sosialisasi pelestarian lingkungan dan pencegahan pencemaran yang bersumber dari sampah, limbah industri dan dari kapal terhadap pencemaan laut. Sasaran Sosialisasi adalah masyarakat pesisir yang berpropesi sebagai nelayan di daerah tersebut dan juga masyarakat daerah pesisir tersebut.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana Cara Penyelesaian Pelayanan Barang Impor yang Terkena Jalur Merah di Free Trade Zone Pada PT. Uniair Indotama Cargo Batam. Prosesnya dimulai dari Dokumen yang dibutuhkan dalam kegiatan impor hingga penetapan jalur oleh pihak Bea Cukai melalui Aplikasi Ceisa. Dalam proses penyelesaian dimaksud, harus memperhatikan dokumen apa saja yang harus di siapkan untuk kegiatan impor yang terkena jalur merah yang akan diberikan pada petugas pemeriksaan pada saat di lapangan dan juga dokumen apa saja yang harus disiapkan untuk di ajukan kepada Bea Cukai untuk penerbitan SPPB (Surat Persetujuan Pengeluaran Barang) yang akan di periksa secara manual oleh petugas pemeriksa Bea Cukai. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengamatan lapangan (Field research) dan metode Pustaka (Library research) untuk mengetahui lebih dekat bagaimana perusahaan PT. Uniair Indotama Cargo Batam dalam melaksanakan kegiatan penyelesaian pelayanan impor sesuai kebutuhan terutama dalam penyelesaian barang impor yang terkena jalur merah di Free Trade Zone. Adapun masalah-masalah yang dihadapi dalam penanganan ialah terlambatnya pemeriksaan dilakukan dikarenakan bencana alam ataupun karena banyaknya barang yang harus diperiksa oleh petugas pemeriksaan maka diharuskan bergiliran tiap perusahaan. Kerja sama serta koordinasi yang baik antara perusahaan PPJK dengan instansi terkait dengan kegiatan impor dan ekspor barang sangat dibutuhkan demi kelancaran pelayanan terhadap ketepatan waktu selesainya barang itu sendiri. Perlu diingat maksud dari koordinasi yang dimaksud adalah bahwa masing-masing instansi dapat melakukan tugas dan fungsinya sehingga pelayanan terhadap kegiatan impor barang dapat berjalan dengan lancar, aman dan efisien.

Abstract

The issue of clean water availability remains a challenge in several rural areas, including Pulo Kampai village, Pangkalan Susu Subdistrict, Langkat Regency, North Sumatra. This community service activity aims to improve community understanding and skills in treating clean water using a simple filtration method. The methods used include education, training on filtration tool making, and testing the filtration results using local water sources. The results show that the filtration method using gravel, sand, activated charcoal, and cotton effectively improves water quality visually and sensorially. This activity has provided tangible benefits in supporting the availability of potable water for the local community.

Abstract

The rising interest in sustainable energy sources has spotlighted biodiesel as a promising alternative to fossil fuels. Avocado seed waste, rich in vegetable oil, presents a potential feedstock for biodiesel production. However, optimizing the extraction process to maximize oil yield and quality is crucial. This study addresses the knowledge gap concerning the impact of drying time and solvent type on oil extraction efficiency from avocado seeds. Here, we show the effects of varying drying times (2, 3, and 4 hours) and using two solvents (96% ethanol and isopropyl alcohol) on the oil yield and quality using Soxhlet extraction. Results indicate increased drying time correlates with reduced moisture content, with values of 79.94%, 63.17%, and 47.39% for 2, 3, and 4 hours, respectively. Comparatively, isopropyl alcohol exhibited a higher fatty acid content (0.718%) than 96% ethanol. The density of oil extracted with 96% ethanol (1.34 g/ml) after 3 hours of drying surpassed that of isopropyl alcohol. These findings suggest that drying time and solvent type significantly influence the extraction efficiency and quality of oil from avocado seeds, highlighting their potential as a viable biodiesel feedstock.

Abstract

The process of obtaining permission to load and unload foreign vessels outside the customs area at the Customs and Excise Office. The implementation of loading and unloading outside the customs area must have permission from the party concerned because the implementation of loading and unloading of foreign ships outside the customs area without permission from the party concerned is a criminal offense which is regulated in Article 10 letter (b) of Law No.17 of 2006 concerning customs. The existence of congestion at the port so that the ship is docked outside the customs area with certain conditions. The need for coordination and thoroughness in processing loading and unloading permits outside the customs area so that all implementations are carried out properly. The task of PT Bahari Eka Nusantara Belawan Branch in licensing loading and unloading outside the customs area is very important because through PT Bahari Eka Nusantara Belawan Branch is the party responsible for the ship that will dock outside the customs area that it agents. Based on the results of the discussion, it can be concluded that there are still obstacles caused by a lack of understanding in the Sibela system input procedure. The late submission of loading and unloading permits outside the customs area is an obstacle to the delay in approval of loading and unloading permits for foreign ships outside the customs area.
