Abstract

The main aim of this study is to understand motivations of international tour­ists who choose traditional Balinese spa treatments and products. The study was conducted in international hotels at Nusa Dua Tourism Complex. An in­terview and a set of questionnaires were administered to 34 tourists used as the sample in this research. Non-probability and accidental sampling tech­niques were used in determining the 30 tourists who participated in this study. The collected data about tourists motivations were analyzed descriptively. The results of the study shows that the main push factors that motivate tourists to take Balinese traditional Spa treatments and products are to experience re­laxation and health. Prestige is not their main motivation. The main pull moti­vation for tourists to have Balinese traditional spa treatments and products are: that the Balinese traditional spa treatments and products are available in the hotels where they stay and the high quality of Balinese traditional spa treatments and products.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to find out the tourist's satisfaction after taking the Balinese traditional spa treatments by measuring five service­dimensions. The study was conducted in the international hotels in Nusa Dua Tourism Complex. A questionnaire was administered to 30 tourists used as the sample in this research. Non-probability and accidental sampling technique were used in determining the 30 tourists participated in this study. The collected data were analyzed using Jmportance­ Performance. The result of the study shows that the Important­Performance Analysis (Cartecius Diagram) shows that the tourists' expectations and evaluation of service quality of the Balinese traditional spa treatments and products spread over the four Quarters. From 20 factors concerning tourists' expectation and satisfaction,four factors belong to quarter A, nine factors are in quarter B, six factors are in quarter C and one factor is in quarter C.

Abstract

Kabupaten Karangasem di Bali sangat kaya akan berbagai atraksi yang dapat dipernmjukkan kepada wisatawan. Karangasem memiliki banyak warisan budaya yang hingga sekarang masih diteruskan oleh generasi saat ini.Penelitian ini difokuskan pada 3 hal: even budaya yang dimiliki Kabupaten Karangasem yang dapat menarik minat wisatawan untuk berkunjung, bagaimana masyarakat local berpartisipasi dalam even tersebut dalam proses berbagi dan melestarikan kesakralan yang dimiliki, dan bagaimana persepsl wisatawan terhadap even budaya yang ada di Kabupaten Karangasem. Penelitian menghasilkan bahwa even yang berkaitan dengan ritual dan upacara yang dilaksanakan di Kabupaten Karangasem hampir sama dengan yang dilaksanakan oleh masyarakat Bali secara umum yakni berdasarkan klas1fikasi yadnya, berdasarkan calendar Bali, berdasarkan kalender caka, dan upacara spesifik yang disebut "ngusabha". Masyarakat lokal di Kabupaten Karangasem terlibat dalam even budaya melalui kegiatan-kegiatan yang bersifat adat. Wisatawan yang berkunjung ke Karangasem sangat jarang mengetalmi even budaya yang ada di Karangasem. Yang sangat familiar bagi mereka adalah upacara religi di desa oleh karena mereka memperoleh pengalaman dan berpartisipasi pada kegiatan tersebut.

Abstract

Salah satu respon masyarakat terhadap perkembangan pariwisata yang begitu pesat di Bali adalah menyediakan penginapan di rumah mereka yang .disebut homestay. Homestay berkembang di daerah wisata Ubud dan biasanya dikelola oleh keluarga secara informal dengan melibatkan sebagian atau seluruh anggota keluarga. Penelitian yang menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan studi kasus ini bertujuan untuk menemukenali peranan perempuan dalam pengelolaan homestay di Desa Padang Tegal Ubud, Bali. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam terhadap keluarga yang merniliki homestay baik suami, istri dan anak-anak mereka. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa perempuan (istri) berperan lebih banyak dalam pengeiolaan homestay. Sedangkan suami (laki­-laki) lebih memilih bekerja di luar rumah. Walaupun demikian laki-laki tetap membantu mengerjakan pekerjaan seperti pemeliharaan taman, perbaikan fasilitas kalau ada yang rusak, dll. Dengan pengelolaan homestay ini, perempuan dapat berperan tidak hanya dalam urusan domestik dan sosial keagamaan yang menuntut pekerjaan perempuan tetapi juga dalam peningkatan kesejii.hteraan dan ekonomi keluarga.

Abstract

The village of Jatiluwih was developed as one of sustainable village tourism in Bali in I 990s. The development was based upon sustainable tourism develop­ment principles by using the Balinese concepts of harmony called 'Tri Hita Karan a' or the three causes of happiness which comprise: harmonious relationship between people with God, people with other people and people with the environ­ment. This research aimed to investigate the impacts of the village tourism development on economic, social-cultural and environmental aspects. The study was conducted qualitatively and the data were collected using non participatory interviews with key informants comprising of village community leaders, some people involved in the initial project as well as the people currently involved in organizing some aspects of the village tourism. Interview were also conducted to formal leaders. The result of the study showed that village tourism development had positive impacts on the three aspects, however, few villagers obtained direct economic benefits. Despite its limited direct economic benefits, the villagers supported the development and had positive attitude toward tourism development in their village.

Abstract

This study aims to determine students' perceptions of online learning in practical courses at the Bali Tourism Polytechnic during the corona virus (COVID-19) pandemic. The students’ perceptions are limited to the aspects of teaching and learning, capabilities (lecturers' abilities), and facilities and infrastructure. The population in this study were all students of Room Division Management program of the Bali Tourism Polytechnic. The sample was taken using a purposive sampling technique which only focused on students who were taking practical courses in the Room Division Management program. Data were collected using online questionnaires and in-depth interviews with several students to obtain more detailed information. The data analysis technique used qualitative analysis consisting of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results showed that students' perceptions of online learning in practical courses are positive, with details of the teaching and learning aspects of 67%, the aspects of capabilities (lecturers' abilities) of 94%, and of the aspects of facilities and infrastructure of 79%. Based on the results of the interview, it was found that the problem lies in the devices owned by students that are not compatible to access online learning so it is difficult to do practicum at home.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the quality of Butler service during the pandemic of Covid-19 at The Ritz-Carlton Bali. Data were collected through interview, documents, and observation techniques. The informant was Chief Butler who knew the day to day of Butler services. Qualitative data analysis was used in this research by referring to Parasuraman’s theory on service quality gap. The results of the analysis indicated that the quality of Butler's service during the pandemic at The Ritz-Carlton Bali was very good with the conformance rate of 97%. This finding showed that the butler services conformed to service standard and were able to follow all measures of CHSE.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to find out marketing strategies to increase room occupancy in Ubud during the new normal period. Based on the data analysis that has been carried out, the results of the marketing strategy have not been optimally implemented by The Shala Bali, because there are several indicators of the 7P marketing mix that have not been implemented optimally, namely product quality indicators where there are several room facilities that are still problematic, brand indicators that are not well known, indicators transportation, namely the lack of lighting at night, the villa distribution channel has not collaborated with offline travel agents, the personal selling indicators owned by the villa are less diverse, and the direct marketing and public relations indicators are not implemented. The people villa element does not yet have a Sales & Marketing department and elements of physical evidence The Shala Bali does not have adequate lighting at night and lacks ample parking space. However, there has been a good implementation of marketing strategies at The Shala Bali, namely indicators of product variety, product design, room size, service, good price list indicators, clear payment periods and requirements, indicators of locations close to tourist destinations in Ubud. and the process elements are good and CHSE certified.
