The method used was qualitative descriptive through direct interviews with SDN 1 Sanur teachers and field observations. The results of the study show that the implementation of SBM at SDN 1 Sanur has gone quite well, especially in the aspects of educator management and technology-based learning. The five main stakeholder groups, namely school principals, teachers, students, parents, and the government, have carried out their respective roles in a synergistic manner. The SWOT analysis identifies key strengths in the form of strategic location, teacher competence, and participatory leadership; weaknesses in the limitations of technological infrastructure; opportunities from the Independent Curriculum policy and the development of information technology; as well as threats in the form of competition between schools and the demands of rapid digital adaptation. The evaluation of management effectiveness and efficiency shows that schools have been able to utilize resources optimally even though there is still room for improvement in learning innovations and digital-based administrative management. Strategic recommendations are prepared based on a SWOT matrix approach to encourage continuous improvement in the quality of education.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has transformed the way students access and process information, requiring the strengthening of critical thinking skills from an early stage of education. One effective approach to support this development is through writing skills, as writing activities encourage students to organize ideas, analyze information, and construct logical arguments. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of writing skills in improving critical thinking abilities among elementary school students in the digital era. This research employed a quantitative approach using a one group pretest-posttest design. The participants were 30 fifth-grade elementary school students. Data were collected through writing skill tests and critical thinking assessments. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and comparative tests to identify differences before and after the treatment. The results indicate a significant improvement in students’ critical thinking skills after the implementation of digital-based writing activities, as reflected in the increase of average scores from pretest to posttest. Therefore, writing skills are proven to be effective in enhancing students’ critical thinking abilities. These findings highlight the importance of integrating writing activities into language learning in alignment with digital advancements.

Abstract

School-Based Management (SBM) is an educational management model that grants schools autonomy to improve educational quality through participatory and decentralized decision-making. However, many previous studies remain limited to single-case contexts, resulting in a lack of comprehensive understanding regarding the role of school principals in supporting SBM implementation. This study aims to: (1) identify and describe principals’ efforts in supporting SBM based on recent literature synthesis; and (2) analyze the supporting and inhibiting factors affecting the effectiveness of principals’ roles in SBM. This study employed a library research design with a thematic analysis approach using 15 open-access journal articles on primary school education published between 2022 and 2026. The findings reveal that principals support SBM through participatory leadership, teacher professional development, community involvement, and transparent school management. Supporting factors include leadership commitment, community participation, and government policy support, while inhibiting factors involve limited managerial competence, inadequate resources, and lack of transparency. The study concludes that the success of SBM is strongly influenced by the quality of principal leadership in managing schools effectively and collaboratively.

Abstract

Improving the quality of education is a key focus in school management because education plays a crucial role in improving the quality of human resources and national progress. However, various problems remain in its implementation, such as low community participation, lack of communication between schools and parents, and suboptimal collaboration among stakeholders in supporting educational programs. These conditions have prevented the implementation of School-Based Management (SBM) from being optimally implemented in improving the quality of education. Therefore, the involvement of all stakeholders is a crucial factor in creating effective, participatory, and high-quality school management. This study aims to analyze the role of internal and external stakeholders in improving school quality through a School-Based Management perspective. The research method used is a literature study with a descriptive qualitative approach. Research data were obtained from various secondary sources, such as books, scientific journals, articles, and previous research results relevant to the research topic. Data collection techniques were carried out through reading, recording, reviewing, and categorizing various literature related to stakeholders, educational quality, and SBM. Data analysis was conducted descriptively by identifying, categorizing, and describing the results of studies from various sources that have been collected. The research results show that internal and eksternal stakeholders have an important role in supporting the effectiveness of the learning process and school management.

Abstract

School-Based Management (SBM) is a form of educational management that gives schools the authority to manage resources independently in order to improve the quality of education. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of School-Based Management implementation in improving educational quality. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design. The population of this study consisted of principals and elementary school teachers in Cluster VIII of Abiansemal District, while the research sample was SD No. 4 Sibangkaja. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, combined with SWOT analysis. The findings showed that the implementation of SBM had been quite effective through participatory school management, creative project-based learning, and stakeholder involvement in supporting school programs. However, the implementation of SBM still faced challenges such as limited technological facilities, limited learning time, and differences in students’ abilities. The SWOT analysis indicated that the school has significant opportunities to improve educational quality through collaboration with various parties and the development of innovative learning programs. Therefore, improvements in learning facilities, stronger stakeholder collaboration, and sustainable school program development are needed to support the effectiveness of SBM implementation in improving educational quality.
