Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of School Based Management (SBM) implementation in improving the quality of education at SD Negeri 6 Panjer. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach with a case study method. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The questionnaire instrument consisted of curriculum management, student management, human resource management, financial management, infrastructure management, public relations management, and excellent service management. The results showed that the implementation of SBM at SD Negeri 6 Panjer has been implemented quite effectively through the principles of participation, transparency, accountability, and school independence. Supporting factors include competent teachers, a conducive school environment, and democratic leadership of the principal. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include limited facilities and infrastructure, limited funding, and uneven stakeholder participation. Therefore, continuous collaboration between schools, parents, and stakeholders is needed to improve the quality of education through effective SBM implementation.

Abstract

ABSTRACT School-Based Management (SBM) is an educational management approach that emphasizes school autonomy, participation, transparency, and accountability to improve educational quality. The success of SBM implementation is strongly influenced by principal leadership. This study aims to analyze the role and effectiveness of principal leadership in SBM implementation and identify supporting and inhibiting factors. The study employed a qualitative descriptive approach through a literature review. Data were collected from books, journal articles, and relevant scientific documents and analyzed using content analysis techniques. The findings indicate that principals play a strategic role in planning, organizing, supervising, and empowering school resources. Effective leadership encourages stakeholder participation, strengthens collaboration, improves teacher professionalism, and creates a positive school culture. Supporting factors include leadership competence, teacher commitment, community participation, and a conducive school environment. Meanwhile, limited managerial competence, inadequate resources, financial constraints, and resistance to change remain major challenges. Therefore, effective principal leadership is a key factor in the successful implementation of SBM and the improvement of educational quality. Abstract

This study is motivated by the various internal and external challenges faced by primary schools in implementing School-Based Management (SBM), particularly regarding technological adaptation and educational innovation. This study aims to analyze the implementation of SBM through a SWOT approach to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of educational management at SD Negeri 5 Tonja, Denpasar. A descriptive qualitative method was employed for this research. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews with the principal and teachers, and documentation. The data analysis followed three stages: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, integrated with SWOT matrix analysis. The results indicate that the implementation of SBM at SD Negeri 5 Tonja has been executed well, characterized by participatory program planning and strong collaborative leadership. Internal strengths include strong managerial leadership, highly committed teachers, and active stakeholder support. However, internal weaknesses persist, notably the suboptimal utilization of instructional technology and limited digital competence among teachers. External opportunities include government initiatives for educational digitalization, while rapid technological advancements and school competitiveness present external threats. In conclusion, the implementation of SBM at SD Negeri 5 Tonja is effective and efficient, yet it requires strategic improvement. Formulated strategies include optimizing digital transformation programs, organizing sustainable technological training for teachers, and evaluating digital infrastructure periodically to maintain educational quality and competitiveness.

Abstract

This study aims to examine in depth the role of listening skills in developing students’ language abilities. The issue addressed is the lack of attention given to listening instruction compared to other language skills, such as reading and writing, even though listening is a fundamental component in the language acquisition process. This research employs a qualitative method with a literature study approach by analyzing various sources such as journals, books, and relevant previous studies. The results indicate that listening skills play a fundamental role in supporting the development of speaking, reading, and writing abilities. Through listening, individuals can obtain information, enrich their vocabulary, and better understand language structures. Listening skills also contribute to the development of cognitive abilities, such as comprehension, analysis, and interpretation of received information. In its implementation, listening instruction requires interactive strategies, the use of varied learning media, and adjustments to students’ characteristics to be more effective. It can be concluded that listening skills have a very important role in improving overall language proficiency.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of the two-session learning system and analyze the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in its implementation at SD Negeri 10 Peguyangan. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted by identifying internal and external school factors using SWOT analysis within the context of School-Based Management (SBM). The results showed that the implementation of the two-session learning system at SD Negeri 10 Peguyangan was motivated by limited classroom availability and school facilities. In terms of strengths, the school has competent teachers, structured school management, diverse school programs, and strong cooperation among school members. In terms of weaknesses, the study found limited classroom facilities, reduced effective learning time, less optimal student conditions during afternoon sessions, and shortages of teaching staff in certain subjects. Opportunities include government support, classroom construction assistance programs, advances in educational technology, and the potential involvement of parents and school committees. Meanwhile, threats include the potential decline in learning effectiveness, teacher fatigue, impacts on the school’s image, and limited parental support. Based on the SWOT analysis, adaptive school development strategies are needed by optimizing internal strengths and utilizing external opportunities to improve learning quality.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the principal’s leadership innovation as a driving force of School-Based Management (SBM) at SD Negeri 1 Pedungan. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach using interviews, observation, and documentation as data collection techniques. The findings reveal that the principal implemented various leadership innovations, including digital-based learning development, character education strengthening, school environment development, and transparent communication with school stakeholders and the community. These innovations have positively contributed to improving the quality of learning, student achievement, teacher professionalism, and the participation of parents and society. Therefore, principal leadership innovation plays a crucial role in optimizing the implementation of SBM and enhancing the quality of education in elementary schools.

Abstract

School-Based Management (SBM) is an educational management approach that gives schools greater authority to manage their resources. This systematic literature review aims to evaluate the implementation of SBM in elementary schools, focusing on school autonomy, community involvement, and financial transparency and accountability. The literature search was conducted through Google Scholar, Garuda, and SINTA for publications from 2022–2026. The study results indicate that SBM can improve learning quality, budget efficiency, and community collaboration. Successful implementation is supported by effective principal leadership and teacher professionalism. However, limitations in managerial capacity, budget constraints, and community participation remain obstacles. The use of digital technology helps improve transparency and accountability in school management.
