Abstract

This study aims to develop teaching materials to improve students’ conceptual understanding of fractions. The research employed a Design and Development method using the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The data obtained were both qualitative and quantitative. Qualitative data were collected from expert validators’ suggestions, while quantitative data were derived from validators’ assessments and student test results. The research subjects were 17 fourth-grade elementary school students in Bandung. The findings revealed that the teaching material RIHAN achieved a feasibility score of 90.3% from material, language, and design experts, and 92.5% from teacher practitioners, categorized as highly feasible. Furthermore, the effectiveness test showed an N-gain score of 0.533 (moderate category), indicating an improvement in students’ conceptual understanding. Therefore, the RIHAN teaching material is considered feasible and effective for enhancing elementary school students’ conceptual understanding of fractions.

Abstract

This study addresses the persistent challenge of limited procedural understanding in multiplication among elementary school students in Indonesia, particularly those in Phase B. Many students struggle to follow correct steps, select appropriate strategies, and apply multiplication concepts to real-life contexts—issues often exacerbated by traditional teaching methods that prioritize rote memorization over active, tangible learning experiences. The study aims to examine the effectiveness of the GASING method in enhancing procedural understanding of multiplication among fourth-grade students. Employing a pre-experimental one-group pre-test and post-test design, the study involved 24 purposively selected students. Data were collected using pre- and post-test instruments and analyzed through the Wilcoxon test. Results indicate a significant improvement in students' procedural understanding following the intervention, with a p-value of 0.001, demonstrating statistical significance at the 0.05 level. The findings affirm that the GASING method—characterized by its concrete, visual, and interactive learning approach—effectively strengthens students’ procedural skills in mathematics. This research contributes to the growing literature on innovative teaching methods in mathematics education and provides practical guidance for educators seeking to implement engaging, structured instructional strategies.

Abstract

Rendahnya kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa menunjukkan urgensi penerapan pembelajaran berbasis RME yang berpusat kepada siswa dan bertitik tolak dari kehidupan nyata. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis efektivitas pendekatan RME terhadap peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa kelas IV pada materi membandingkan dan mengurutkan pecahan berpembilang satu. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain pre-experimental bentuk one-group pretest-posttest design dan teknik purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes (pretest dan posttest) serta data dianalisis menggunakan uji non-parametrik, berupa uji wilcoxon dan uji perbedaan terhadap skor n-gain. Hasil penelitian dengan bantuan SPSS Statistics 26 diperoleh bahwa nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 < 0,05 dan skor n-gain sebesar 0,83 atau 83,01% sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa pendekatan RME efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa kelas IV pada materi membandingkan dan mengurutkan pecahan berpembilang satu.

Abstract

Permasalahan yang melatarbelakangi penelitian ini yaitu belum optimalnya kemampuan peserta didik dalam memecahkan masalah matematis yang disebabkan oleh pemilihan model pembelajaran serta media yang belum sepenuhnya memfasilitasi untuk mengembangkan kemampuan penyelesaian masalah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran tingkat efektivitas model Laps-Heuristic berbantuan media Flashcard dalam meningkatkan kemampuan penyelesaian masalah matematis pada peserta didik kelas V pada materi keliling persegi dan persegi panjang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Pre-Experimental dengan desain One Group Pretest-Posttest. Sampel yang digunakan yaitu peserta didik kelas V di salah satu SD Negeri Kota Bandung berjumlah 24 orang. Teknik dalam pengumpulan data terdiri dari tes berupa soal uraian non-rutin sebanyak 5 soal dan observasi. Analisis data yang dilakukan yaitu melalui statistik deskriptif dan inferensial. Berdasarkan temuan penelitian, disimpulkan bahwa model Laps-Heuristic berbantuan media Flashcard cukup efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan penyelesaian masalah matematis peserta didik kelas V. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan skor N-Gain sebesar 0,63 termasuk pada kategori sedang dan persentase N-Gain sebesar 63,07% menunjukkan kategori cukup efektif.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan rendahnya kelancaran prosedural matematis pada materi operasi perkalian bersusun bilangan cacah sampai 100 siswa fase B sekolah dasar. Hal tersebut dikarenakan kegiatan pembelajaran belum memfasilitasi penggunaan bahan ajar dan metode yang digunakan masih berpusat pada guru yaitu metode ceramah, sehingga diperlukan penggunaan bahan ajar berbasis pendekatan matematika yaitu bahan ajar Siansun berbasis pendekatan CPA. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui efektivitas bahan ajar Siansun berbasis pendekatan CPA terhadap peningkatan kelancaran prosedural matematis siswa SD fase B. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain pre-experimental design yaitu one group pre-test-post-test design. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas IV yang berjumlah 21 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat peningkatan kelancaran prosedural matematis siswa yang signifikan antara sebelum dan sesudah diberikan treatment. Hal ini dibuktikan melalui uji perbedaan rerata menggunakan uji Wilcoxon. Selan itu berdasarkan hasil uji N-Gain keefektifan bahan ajar “Siansun” berbasis pendekatan CPA berada pada kriteria tinggi. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa bahan ajar Siansun berbasis pendekatan CPA efektif untuk meningkatkan kelancaran prosedural matematis siswa SD fase B pada materi operasi hitung perkalian bersusun bilangan cacah sampai 100.

Abstract

Abstract Media and platforms are important components of scientific literacy learning in implementing the Merdeka curriculum in elementary schools. This community service activity aims to disseminate the use of media and platforms to strengthen scientific literacy in implementing the independent curriculum in elementary schools. The method used is socialization, which includes several stages: identifying problems and needs, determining training topics, and evaluating. This activity was attended by 60 teachers in Kuningan Regency. In terms of process, the implementation of community service was conducive at both the online and offline stages of implementing activities. Participants were very enthusiastic about participating in question-and-answer activities, practices, and presentations on media use. All participants developed learning media and presented it in front of other participants. The success of implementing this community service is assessed from the implementation process and the output, where there is an increase in teacher understanding regarding scientific literacy and the use of media and platforms to strengthen scientific literacy skills. Keywords: science literacy media and platforms, merdeka curriculum, elementary schools Abstrak Media dan platform merupakan komponen penting pembelajaran literasi sains dalam implementasi kurikulum merdeka di sekolah dasar. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mendiseminasikan penggunaan media dan platform penguatan literasi sains dalam implementasi kurikulum merdeka di sekolah dasar. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini yaitu sosialisasi mencakup beberapa tahapan yaitu identifikasi permasalahan dan kebutuhan, penentuan topik pelatihan, dan evaluasi. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 60 guru di Kabupaten Kuningan. Dari segi proses, pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian berlangsung kondusif dan lancar baik pada tahap pelaksanaan kegiatan daring maupun luring. Peserta sangat antusias berpartisipasi dalam kegiatan tanya jawab, praktik, dan presentasi penggunaan media. Semua peserta turut andil dalam mengembangkan media pembelajaran dan mempresentasikannya di depan peserta yang lain. Keberhasilan pelaksanaan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini selain dinilai dari proses pelaksanaan juga dinilai dari output pengabdian dimana adanya peningkatan pemahaman guru terkait literasi sains serta penggunaan media maupun platform penguatan kemampuan literasi sains. Abstract

This study is motivated by the issue of low mathematical conceptual understanding among Phase B students, particularly in the topic of bar charts. This condition arises because learning activities have not fully provided opportunities for students to connect mathematical material with their real-life experiences. In addition, the instructional materials used have not been optimal in presenting concrete and easily understandable contexts. To address this issue, learning materials are needed that go beyond theoretical content and present contextual situations closely related to students' daily lives. Learning materials based on Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) were developed to help students construct mathematical understanding through relevant, realistic, and meaningful learning experiences. This study aims to analyze and describe the effectiveness of RME-based learning materials in improving students’ conceptual understanding in the topic of bar charts. A quantitative method was employed using a pre-experimental design in the form of a One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Data were collected through tests administered before and after the intervention. The results show that the use of RME-based learning materials is reasonably effective in enhancing students' mathematical conceptual understanding, indicated by an n-gain score of 0.6469, which falls into the medium effectiveness category.
