Abstract

This study aims to determine the profile of students' oral argumentation skills based on Socioscientific Issues in the Microbiology course. This type of research is a descriptive study in order to obtain an overview of the quality of oral arguments of sixth semester students. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, totaling 37 students of science class 2017. The instruments used were audio recordings and anecdotal notes. The assessment of the quality of students' oral arguments is based on the Toulmin's Argumentation Pattern (TAP) pattern which consists of claim, data, warrant, backing, and rebuttal elements. The results showed that science students had the quality of oral argumentation which was still at level 1 where student arguments only consist of simple claims with opposing claims obtaining a percentage of 12%,, level 2 had a percentage rate of 88% while level 3%, level 4% and level 5% of 0% means scientific argumentation ability science students are still relatively low. This finding will be the basis for researchers to evaluate the learning program that has been applied in the Microbiology course and become the basis for further research related to learning strategies in improving the oral argumentation skills of prospective science teachers.

Abstract

This research is based on learning activities in several junior high schools in Tangerang that have yet to be oriented to students' integration and critical thinking skills. The ability to think critically in learning can be done by growing it through electronic teaching materials like an electronic worksheet with a scientific approach. STUDENT WORKSHEET is compiled using a flip pdf builder application to support learning in the 21st century by utilizing technology. The purpose of this study was to design student worksheets in electronic form with a scientific approach to the theme of the role of biotechnology in food diversification to foster the critical thinking skills of class IX students. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) development research with Thiagarajan development design through modifications that are tailored to the needs of researchers with being limited to the expert validation stage, which includes the following stages: Definition ( Define), Design ( Design ), Development ( Develop ). The instrument used is a material expert validation questionnaire sheet, media expert, and science teacher. The results of this study indicate the validity of the student worksheet by obtaining an average percentage value of 79.92% with a valid category which includes material experts at 63.7% with a valid category, teaching media experts at 81.96% with very valid categories, and teachers IPA is 94.11% with a very valid category.

Abstract

Salah satu permasalahan dalam pembelajaran IPA adalah pemahaman konsep siswa yang belum maksimal sehingga harus diketahui tingkatannya agar dapat diatasi. Pemahaman konsep dapat diukur dengan dengan tes pemahaman konsep. Salah satunya berupa pilihan ganda empat tingkat (4TMC). Penelitian dilakukan untuk mengetahui efektivitas instrumen tes 4TMC tema listrik sahabat kita yang akan digunakan dalam mengukur tingkat pemahaman konsep siswa. Penelitian dilakukan pada semester ganjil TA 2022/2023 pada tiga SMP Negeri di Kota Tangerang. Metode penelitian mix method dengan desain sequential explanatory. Instrumen yang dipergunakan adalah 4TMC sebanyak 42 butir soal dengan 12 butir soal dinyatakan valid, lembar validasi instrumen tes dan instrumen nontes berupa wawancara. Efektivitas instrumen tes 4TMC tema listrik sahabat kita dalam mengukur pemahaman konsep siswa telah diuji kelayakan berdasarkan validasi ahli meliputi aspek isi sebesar 90% (sangat valid), aspek penyajian sebesar 89% (sangat valid), aspek kebahasaan 92% (sangat valid). Hasil tes pemahaman konsep siswa tema listrik sahabat kita mendapatkan persentase pemahaman konsep siswa yaitu paham konsep sebesar 16% (sangat rendah), tidak paham konsep sebesar 58% (cukup) dan miskonsepsi sebesar 26% (rendah). Oleh karena itu, perlu tindak lanjut seperti pengembangan strategi pembelajaran hingga media pembelajaran untuk mengatasi dan mencegah rendahnya pemahaman.

Abstract

The students in the 8th grade at the 2nd Ciruas State High School still have low science education learning outcomes, marked by learning that is still centered on the teacher. The aim of this study is to find out how the learning model Talking Stick with mystery box can influence students’ learning outcomes on the theme of Sonar Systems in Animals. This type of research uses experimental quatches with a non-equivalent control group design. The Talking Stick cooperative learning model was carried out in the experimental class, while the live learning model was used in the control class. Pretest-posttest tests are used to measure cognitive abilities, while non-tests are used for measuring emotional and psychomotor abilities (observed paper). The conclusion of the research has been obtained: the influence of the learning model taught with the type of talking stick-assisted media mystery box on student learning results on the theme of sonar students in animals This is demonstrated by the acquisition of average values from both classes during the test. On the cognitive aspect, a score of 54.9 was obtained for the control class and an average of 72.3 for the experimental class. On the psychomotor aspect, we obtained a score of 77.8 in the control class and 88.2 in the experimental class. In addition, on the affective aspect, he obtained a score of 75.9 in the control class and 84.1 in the experimental class. The data showed that achievements in each cognitive, psychomotor, and affective aspect obtained the highest score in the experimental class.

Abstract

Salah satu bahan ajar atau media yang praktis, menarik dan dapat dikembangkan yaitu e-modul. E-modul adalah media yang dapat menyampaikan empat bentuk informasi berupa gambar, audio, video dan animasi. E-modul tema Sehatkan Bumiku dikembangkan berdasarkan analisis masalah pada latar belakang. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui validitas e-modul tema Sehatkan Bumiku untuk menumbuhkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa kelas VII. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian Research & Development dengan menggunakan model Borg and Gall yang telah dimodifikasi oleh Sugiyono. Model Borg and Gall yang dimodifikasi oleh Sugiyono hanya dilaksanakan sampai 5 tahap, yaitu potensi dan masalah, pengumpulan data, desain produk, validasi desain produk, perbaikan desain produk. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk uji kevalidan yaitu lembar penilaian validasi ahli materi, ahli media, dan guru IPA. Data analisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kevalidan e-modul tema “Sehatkan Bumiku” untuk menumbuhkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa kelas VII menurut ahli materi memperoleh nilai persentase sebesar 100% dengan kategori “Sangat Valid”, ahli media memperoleh nilai persentase sebesar 84,26% dengan kategori “Sangat Valid” dan guru IPA memperoleh nilai persentase sebesar 88,67% dengan kategori “Sangat Valid”.

Abstract

Rendahnya kemampuan literasi sains peserta didik menjadi permasalahan dalam pembelajaran IPA tingkat SMP sehingga diperlukan pengembangan asesmen formatif berbasis Wizer Me tema revolusi pangan untuk mengukur kemampuan literasi sains peserta didik kelas IX. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui tingkat validitas asesemen formatif berbasis Wizer Me tema revolusi pangan untuk mengukur kemampuan literasi sains peserta didik IX. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada semester genap TA 2022/2023 di 3 SMP Negeri Kota Jakarta Barat. Metode penelitian research and development dengan model pengembangan 4D yang pada penelitian ini dibatasi sampai tahap development. Hasil uji empiris asesmen formatif berbasis Wizer Me dalam mengukur kemampuan literasi sains peserta didik kelas IX dinyatakan sangat valid dilihat dari rata-rata nilai persentase sebesar 87,58% berdasarkan validasi ahli meliputi ahli materi 87,60%, ahli media 93,62% dan guru IPA 81,52%. Berdasarkan validasi 30 siswa yang diukur mendapatkan hasil 17 soal valid dengan tingkat kesukuran 16 soal tergolong sukar dan 1 soal tergolong sedang serta reliabilitas soal sebesar 0,89 yang menunjukkan interpretasi reliabilitas tinggi.

Abstract

The development of technological rapidly changes the learning process more broadly. Demands for students or prospective science teachers to improve their digital literacy skills with the help of website-based media are needed in the learning process so that it can take place optimally. The development of biotechnology has also developed rapidly in the last few years, thus demanding that students or prospective science teachers be more responsive to information and be able to present this information interactively. Unfortunately, many students or prospective science teachers are not able to understand biotechnology because it is considered that the concept of biotechnology is difficult to understand. For this reason, it is necessary to have a needs analysis to find out the aspects needed and develop the learning and learning resources needed to improve digital literacy skills and understand the concept of biotechnology. The aim of this study is to analyze the needs of learning media based on a biotechnology theme website that would be developed, so that it can improve the digital literacy skills of students or prospective science teachers. The needs analysis was carried out as a preliminary study on Borg & Gall's research and development methods, which are included in the research and information collecting stage. The analysis of the needs for developing learning tools includes student analysis, concept analysis, task analysis, and learning objectives analysis. This needs analysis is accompanied by a literature review and observation results. The results obtained are a thorough and real needs analysis on the development of a biotechnology theme website to improve the digital literacy abilities of science teacher candidates, which can be applied at the next research and development stage

Abstract

The problem with test instruments made by teachers tends to test more aspects of memory without honing the ability to think at a high level of students is what prompted this research. The purpose of this study was to develop a high level thinking test instrument designed for grade IX students on the theme of environmentally friendly energy. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) consisting of potential problems, data collection, product design, design validation, design revision and product trials. This research resulted in the form of a high level thinking test instrument. The test instrument has been tested for feasibility based on expert validation obtaining a validity level of 98.36% (very valid) with details of material expert validation of 97.77% and science teacher experts of 98.96%. Based on the test of test instruments on 105 students measured by Anates software version 4.0.5, the results obtained 20 valid questions with moderate difficulty, reliability of 0.85 (high reliability) and good differentiating power as many as 5 questions and sufficient differentiating power as many as 15 questions. Therefore, it can be concluded that the test instrument with an overall product efficiency value obtained based on student responses is 89.12% (very efficient).  The results of the development of test instruments can be used for further research that will measure the level of ability with high level thinking in class IX students on the theme of environmentally friendly energy.

Abstract

Dalam pembelajaran IPA, sangat diperlukan kegiatan penunjang berupa praktikum maupun eksperimen di laboratorium. Pandemi Covid-19 menyebabkan berubahnya sistem pembelajaran yang membuat minat belajar siswa menurun. Pembelajaran dilakukan secara Hybrid yang mengakkibatkan tidak terlaksananya praktikum dikarenakan keterbatasan waktu dan alat penunjang praktikum yang sult didapatkan, terutama pada materi tema bagaimana tumbuhanku bisa hidup. Praktikum IPA sangat penting untuk dilaksanakan, karena dapat membantu pemahaman siswa terhadap materi IPA. Maka dari itu, perlu diadakannya pengembangan praktikum IPA berbasis virtual laboratory yang bertujuan untuk mengembangkan, memvalidasi, dan mendeskripsikan tingkat efisiensi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan modifikasi model pengembangan 4D. Praktikum IPA berbasis virtual laboratory tema bagaimana tumbuhanku bisa hidup terhadap minat belajar siswa kelas VIII mencapai kategori “sangat valid” dengan rata – rata persentase nilai keseluruhan adalah 89,31% yang didapat dari seluruh validator, validasi ahli materi memperoleh nilai persentase sebesar 77,28% dengan kategori “Valid’, validasi ahli media memperoleh nilai sebesar 93,27% dengan kategori “Sangat Valid” dan validasi guru IPA SMP memperoleh nilai sebesar 97,39% dengan kategori “Sangat Valid”. Hasil tingkat efisiensi dari praktikum ipa berbasis virtual laboratory memperoleh nilai persentase sebesar 89,14% dengan kategori “Sangat Efisien”.

Abstract

Kegiatan pembelajaran yang dilaksanakan berjalan kurang efektif karena kurangnya minat belajar siswa dalam kegiatan pembelajaran, hasil tersebut disebabkan oleh kurangnya media pembelajaran yang tersedia dan kurang menariknya media pembelajaran, sehingga pemahaman siswa dalam memahami materi tema kelistrikan pada sistem saraf menjadi kurang maksimal. Salah satu media yang menarik dan dapat dikembangkan yaitu media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis Articulate Storyline. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan, mengetahui tingkat kevalidan dan tingkat efisiensi dari media pembelajaran yang dikembangkan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah R&D menggunakan model 4D dari Thiagarajan akan tetapi hanya dibatasi sampai tiga tahap yaitu pengembangan (Development). Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu lembar validasi ahli untuk menguji serta angket respon siswa untuk mengukur tingkat efisiensi dari produk yang dikembangkan. Hasil validasi dari media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis Articulate Storyline tema kelistrikan pada sistem saraf untuk menumbuhkan minat belajar siswa kelas IX secara keseluruhan berdasarkan hasil validasi dari beberapa validator memperoleh nilai persentase sebesar 92,20%, ahli materi memperoleh nilai persentase sebesar 84,34% dengan kategori “Sangat Valid”, ahli media memperoleh nilai persentase sebesar 97,61 % dan guru IPA memperoleh nilai persentase sebesar 94,60% dengan kategori “Sangat Valid”. Hasil tingkat efisiensi dari media pembelajaran memperoleh nilai persentase sebesar 89,94% dengan kategori “Sangat Efisien.
