Abstract

Cordyline fruticosa. (L.) A. Cheval plant is one of the traditional medicines which has been proven to have benefits including as a medicinal ingredient. This plant contains several chemical compounds including saponins, tannins, flavonoids, polyphenols and steroids. The aim of the research This was to determine the effect of temperature and storage time of red andong leaf extract on anthocyanin levels. Red andong leaves were extracted by maceration using 70% ethanol. The results showed total anthocyanin levels at temperatures of -20°C, 4°C, 25°C and 37°C for 7 days and 14 days. For the first week it was 7.81 mg/L, 8.41 mg/L, 7.29 mg/L, 6.19 mg/L and the 2nd week was 5.99 mg /L, 7.14 mg/L, 3.03 mg/L, 2.37 mg/L. Based on the research results, it was concluded that increasing temperature and storage time damaged the color of anthocyanins. The highest anthocyanin levels after storage were at 4°C of 8.41 mg/l in week 1 and 7.14 mg/L in week 2.   Keywords:          Cordyline fruticosa ( L.) A. Cheval merupakan salah satu obat tradisional yang terbukti memiliki  manfaat diantaranya sebagai bahan obat. Tanaman ini mengandung beberapa senyawa kimia antara lain saponin, tanin, flavonoid, polifenol, dan steroid. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh suhu dan waktu penyimpanan ekstrak daun andong merah terhadap kadar antosianin. Daun andong merah diekstraksi dengan maserasi menggunakan etanol 70%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kadar antosianin total pada suhu -20°C, 4°C, 25°C dan 37°C selama 7 hari dan 14 hari. Untuk minggu pertama adalah 7,81 mg/L, 8,41 mg/L, 7,29 mg/L, 6,19 mg/L dan minggu ke-2 adalah 5,99 mg/L, 7,14 mg/L, 3,03 mg/L, 2,37 mg/L. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa peningkatan suhu dan lama penyimpanan merusak warna antosianin. Kadar antosianin tertinggi setelah penyimpanan berada pada suhu 4°C sebesar 8,41 mg/l pada minggu ke-1 dan 7,14 mg/L pada minggu ke-2.   Kata Kunci:         Andong merah, antosianin, lama dan waktu penyimpanan

Abstract

Andong merah (Cordyline fruticosa (L.) A. Cheval) merupakan tanaman yang banyak digunakan sebagai obat tradisional. Kandungan senyawa yang ada pada tanaman andong merah berupa metabolit sekunder diantaranya polifenol, flavonoid, saponin, alkaloid, steroid dan triterpenoid sedangkan pada daun andong merah mengandung senyawa polifenol, tannin dan flavonoid. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui sitotoksisitas fraksi daun andong merah (C. Fruticosa) terhadap larva udang Artemia salina Leach menggunakan metode BSLT. Ekstrak etanol 70% menghasilkan tiga fraksi yaitu fraksi n-heksan, fraksi etil asetat, dan fraksi etanol-air dengan teknik ekstraksi cair-cair (ECC) menggunakan tiga pelarut. Kemudian diuji sitotoksisitasnya dari seri konsentrasi 20 ppm, 40 ppm, 60 ppm, 80 ppm dan 100 ppm serta kontrol negatif. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini berupa aktivitas sitotoksik fraksi dengan parameter nilai LC50 yaitu fraksi n-heksan 25,05 ppm ppm, fraksi etil aetat 85,21 ppm dan fraksi etanol-air 32,39 ppm. Kesimpulannya yakni fraksi dari daun andong merah (C. Fruticosa) termasuk dalam kategori sitotoksistas kuat. Cordyline fruticosa (L.) A. Cheval is a plant that is widely used as a traditional medicine. The compounds contained in the red oak plant are secondary metabolites including polyphenols, flavonoids, saponins, alkaloids, steroids and triterpenoids whereas in the leaves of the red andong contain compound polyphenol, tannins and flavanoids. The aim of the study was to determine the cytotoxicity of the C. fruticosa fraction to the larvae of the shrimp Artemia salina Leach using the BSLT method. The 70% ethanol extract produces three fractions namely the n-hexane fraction, the ethyl acetate fraction and the ethanole-water fraction using the liquid-liquid extraction technique (ECC) using three solvents. Then they tested their cytotoxicity from a series of concentrations of 20 ppm, 40 ppm and 60 ppm as well as negative controls. The results obtained from this study were fractional cytotoxic activity with LC50 parameters of 25.05 ppm n-hexane fraction, 85.21 ppm ethyl acetate fraction and 32.39 ppm ethanol-water fraction. The conclusion is that the fraction of the C. Fruticosa leaves belongs to the category of strong cytotoxists

Abstract

Lactic acid (LAB) is a bacteria involved in food fermentation and can be used as a probiotic to provide health benefits for those who consume it. This research aims to bring innovation and added value, and improve the community's utilization of probiotics (LAB) from husks and black rice from Toraja. The method used is collecting and processing samples, isolation and purification of LAB, microscopic and macroscopic identification, testing the activity/potential of LAB (Kirby Bauer), and molecular identification of 16S rRNA (sequencing). This study has confirmed that fermented rice has Lactococcus taiwanensis type lactic acid bacteria, while fermented husk is not a type of lactic acid bacteria. Lactococcus taiwanensis bacteria have probiotic potential and can produce antibacterial substances.
