Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of core stability training on jump serve accuracy in adolescent volleyball players. In the sport of volleyball, jump serve accuracy is essential for creating effective attacks, while core stability plays an important role in controlling body movement, improving balance, and generating the strength needed to serve accurately. This study used an experimental design with 30 youth volleyball players from the New Antarctica Club who were divided into two groups: an experimental group that underwent a 6-week core stability training program and a control group that received no specific training intervention. The results showed that the experimental group experienced a better and significant improvement in jump serve accuracy compared to the control group. Therefore, it can be concluded that core stability training can improve jump serve accuracy in adolescent volleyball players.

Abstract

Teachers must always improve pedagogical competence to keep up with changes and developments that occur in curriculum content in the learning process of students. The merdeka curriculum is the result of the government’s findings on the replacement of the previous curriculum, which gives students the freedom to develop their potential according to their talents and interests. This descriptive quantitative study aims to explore information about the understanding of physical education teachers on the implementation of the merdeka curriculum in junior high schools in Tarumajaya District, Bekasi Regency. The sampling technique was purposive sampling. This study involved 17 schools, with 21 physical education teachers as samples. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire using a Likert scale and Google Forms media. The results of the study were analyzed using SPSS 23 through descriptive statistics. The data were categorized, then looked for percentages, and averaged (mean). The results of this study indicate the understanding of physical education teachers towards the implementation of an merdeka curriculum in junior high schools in Tarumajaya District with an average value of 73% which is then converted into a “Good Enough” category value. Based on the findings of this study, increasing teacher competence, especially pedagogical competence in Tarumajaya District, must be further optimized through increasing teacher understanding, providing adequate resources, reducing administrative burdens, increasing student motivation, and effective time management towards the focus of the Merdeka curriculum.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of interval training exercises on increasing cardiorespiratory endurance. The research method used in this study is the experimental method. The population in this study is students who are members of the futsal extracurricular of Tunas Harapan Junior High School, which amounts to 32 people, The sampling technique uses total sampling where all populations are used as samples. The instrument used by the author in this study is a multistage running test. The test results showed that the significance value (2-tailed) was 0.000, which was smaller than the significance level of 0.05 (p < 0.05). The results of the average score comparison showed that the interval training group had an average of 46,162, while the conventional group had an average of 37,008. The results of this study showed that Tunas Harapan Junior High School futsal players experienced a significant increase in cardiorespiratory endurance after undergoing an interval training program.

Abstract

Background: Cardiorespiratory endurance is vital to athletic performance, particularly in sports requiring sustained physical exertion such as martial arts. Objectives: This study examined the predictive roles of body composition (BMI), hemoglobin concentration, and motivation on cardiorespiratory endurance among university-level martial arts athletes. Methods: Using a quantitative path analysis design, data were collected from 20 purposively selected martial arts athletes who regularly trained. Cardiorespiratory endurance was assessed via the multistage fitness test, BMI was calculated using standard anthropometric measures, hemoglobin was measured using the Harenz scale, and motivation was evaluated with a validated Likert-scale questionnaire. Results: The analysis showed that BMI (ρ = 0.705, t = 3.071, p = 0.007) and hemoglobin concentration (ρ = 0.946, t = 4.672, p < 0.001) had significant positive effects on cardiorespiratory endurance. Motivation, however, did not have a significant direct effect (ρ = 0.087, t = 0.853, p = 0.203). Additionally, BMI correlated positively with both hemoglobin (ρ = 0.923, p < 0.001) and motivation (ρ = 0.670, p = 0.034), suggesting indirect effects through physiological mechanisms. Conclusions: The findings underscore that physiological indicators, specifically BMI and hemoglobin, are more critical predictors of aerobic capacity than psychological factors like motivation in this athletic population. Due to sport-specific demands, these results may not be generalizable to non-martial arts athletes. Future studies should incorporate additional mediators such as training intensity and account for potential self-report bias in motivation assessments.
