Abstract

The type of LPDE Low Densty Polyethilen plastic waste can be used as a mixture for paved road construction in the field, for that it must be known in advance what percentage of use and type of LPDE plastic waste pieces against the weight of asphalt so that it can be ensured to meet Marshall's characteristics both for stability and deformation of asphalt. In this study, it aims to determine the effect of adding LPDE plastic waste to the asphalt mixture of test methods carried out in the Civil Engineering laboratory of UM West Sumatra using the type of LPDE plastic waste on the AC-WC layer of Asphalt Concrete-Wearing Course, using asphalt pen pertamina 60/70 and aggregate material from the Civil Engineering labor of UM West Sumatra on the marshall value. The test results showed that the use of 0%,3%,6% LPDE plastic content that meets the provisions of the 2018 Highways Technical Specification with increased stability value and VMA aggregate 16.11% in 6% plastic content, 3.43 mm flow melting in 3% plastic content and 460.60 kg MQ marshall in 6% plastic content. From the research, it can be concluded that the use of LPDE plastic waste can be used as an added material to the AC-WC asphalt mixture can reduce LPDE plastic waste pollution in Indonesia.Keywords : Plastic waste LPDE, AC-WC, Asphalt, Marshall Value

Abstract

Roads have a very important function, namely as land transportation infrastructure that can support all human needs in the health, social, cultural and economic sectors. One of the most important road infrastructure is the road that connects an area with health facilities such as the nearest hospital or health center such as Nagari Baruah Gunuang. Due to the condition of the road to the Baruah Gunuang health center which is still difficult to pass, good planning is needed for the road construction activities. Therefore this study aims to calculate the thickness of the flexible pavement and the Budget Plan by comparing two methods, namely the 1993 AASHTO and MDPJ 2017 methods. Based on a comparison of the results of the road pavement thickness on the 1993 AASHTO method, a total thickness of 25 cm was obtained at a cost of Rp.1.092. 155.000,00,-. and the 2017 Road Pavement Design Manual method uses a 50 cm granular foundation layer at a cost of Rp.2.467.678.000,00. The calculation results of the 1993 AASHTO method have a total thickness of pavement that is thinner and cheaper than the 2017 Road Pavement Design Manual method. Keywords : AASHTO 1993, Road Pavement Design Manual 2017, Flexible Pavement, Pavement Thickness

Abstract

Roads are a very important infrastructure in supporting the pace of the economy in Indonesia. As a developing country, Indonesia really needs quality and as well as the quantity of roads to meet the needs of all Indonesian people. Several roads in Nagari Simarasok still have not been paved, one of which is on Jalan Simarasok. This road is a local road with a 2-lane road type. Based on the status of this road, it is an alternative road that connects Jalan Simarasok with Jorong Koto Tuo, which is 1500 meters long and 5 meters wide. On that road there was no drainage. The condition of this road is still landlessFrom survey data LHR which was carried out for 2 days on weekdays and the market obtained an average of 376 vehicles. In this plan calculate the thickness of the pavement and compare prices This basic material unit uses 2 methods, namely the 1987 Component Analysis Method and the 2017 Road Pavement Design Manual. From these 2 methods, bold results are obtained layer with the 1987 Component Analysis Method which meets the requirements, namely D1 = 7.5 cm D2 = 20 cm and D3 = 10 cm, while for the 2017 MDPJ method the layer thickness calculated is AC-WC = 4 cm AC-BC = 6 cm and LPA Class A = 40 cm. Results of comparison of the unit price of basic materials obtained by the 1987 Component Analysis Method for Rp. 267,346,607.40 and the 2017 MDPJ Method costs Rp. 702,903,035.94.
