Abstract

This study aims to analyze the financial management strategies of MSMEs in the digital 5.0 era, focusing on four main indicators, namely budget planning and use, financial recording, financial reporting, and financial control. The research was conducted on 31 MSMEs registered at the Palu City Business Incubator, using descriptive quantitative methods. Data were collected through a questionnaire with a Likert scale and analyzed using descriptive statistics through frequency tabulation. The results showed that the majority of MSMEs have implemented financial management strategies well in the aspects of financial planning, recording, and control. The utilization of digital technology is proven to support the effectiveness of financial management, especially in preparing budgets, recording transactions, and monitoring cash flow in real-time. However, in the aspect of financial reporting, there are still shortcomings, where most MSMEs have not prepared complete financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flows. Nevertheless, some MSMEs have used digital technology to prepare financial reports more quickly and accurately. Overall, this study indicates that the financial management of MSMEs in the digital 5.0 era is quite good but still requires strengthening in the aspect of financial reporting to support business sustainability. Abstract

The boycott, divestment, and sanctions (BDS) movement targeting Israeli‑affiliated firms has gained considerable global attention, yet its impact on Indonesian capital markets remains underexplored. This study therefore investigates whether the announcement of trading suspension in response to BDS actions is associated with significant changes in mean abnormal returns and trading volume activity for affected stocks. Employing an event‑study framework, we calculate abnormal returns using the market model and measure trading volume activity as the ratio of daily volume to its historical average over a 21‑day window (ten days before through ten days after the event date). Our sample comprises Israeli‑linked firms listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange whose trading was halted due to BDS‑related developments. Rigorous statistical tests reveal that mean abnormal returns are significantly different both in the pre‑event and post‑event periods, indicating that investors adjust their valuation prior to as well as following the suspension. Likewise, a paired‑samples t‑test of trading volume activity demonstrates a statistically significant increase in turnover immediately before and after the event, suggesting heightened trading interest surrounding the BDS announcement. These findings underscore that non‑fundamental political actions can elicit measurable market reactions in Indonesia, with implications for portfolio managers, regulators, and policymakers seeking to understand how socio‑political events influence market dynamics.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play an important role in post-disaster economic recovery, including in relocation areas such as Huntap Duyu and Balaroa Sub-districts in Palu City. This study aims to explore the role of financial literacy in MSME financial management practices in both sub-districts. The method used is a qualitative approach with an intrinsic case study, which includes in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation to obtain data on the level of financial literacy, financial management practices, and challenges faced by MSME actors. The results of the study indicate that most MSME actors in the area have a low understanding of financial literacy, which is reflected in informal and intuitive financial management practices. However, there are differences between business actors in Duyu and Balaroa, with MSME actors in Duyu being more open to financial training and assistance. This study provides theoretical contributions in the development of financial literacy in the post-disaster context and practical in designing more effective community-based economic empowerment programs. These findings are expected to be the basis for supporting institutions and policy makers in designing more relevant interventions for MSMEs in relocation areas. The right financial education program can help MSMEs improve their business resilience and economic sustainability in the future.

Abstract

This study intends to test, analyze, and verify the influence of bank size, capital adequacy, liquidity, credit risk, and market power on commercial banks profitability. Quantitative research methods applied in this study are explanatory method, which aims to analyze the influence of independent variables on dependent variable and descriptive method to describe the object studied. The study also applies Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA) approach to estimate the technical efficiency of commercial banks. The results show that bank size, capital adequacy (CAR), liquidity (LDR), credit risk (NPL) and market power significantly affect the profitability of commercial banks in Indonesia in the period of 2010-2016. The result of yearly financial report of each bank is caused by the fact that: 1). some banks are in the process of mergers; 2). the allowance for impairment losses on financial assets and non-financial assets increased primarily with banks in the merger process; 3). banks have credits in default status and under special surveillance with an increasing amount of credits from year to year.   Keywords: Profit Efficiency, Bank Size, Capital Adequacy, Liquidity, Credit Risk, and Market Power. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine approaches used to increase the profitability of food and beverage MSMEs in Palu City. The sample used was 40 MSMEs. Data collected through questionnaires and interviews were then analyzed using multiple linear regression. The findings indicate that digital marketing have the greatest impact on MSME profitability, followed by financial management and product innovation. Social media and e-commerce are two examples of effective digital marketing techniques that can increase target market awareness and company revenue. Furthermore, efforts to maintain company stability and competitiveness are facilitated by innovative product development and sound financial management. A combination of these three strategies is recommended to significantly increase MSME profitability.

Abstract

Research Originality — This study examines Indonesian government spending—both state and local budgets—at a disaggregated level, with particular attention to the role of the Budget Surplus (SiLPA). By doing so, it provides a clearer picture of how specific fiscal policies and excess budget financing shape regional economic growth. Research Objectives — The primary aim of this study is to explore how different types of government spending, along with excess budget financing (SILPA), affect regional economic performance in Indonesia. It also seeks to identify which fiscal components contribute most effectively to growth and where potential inefficiencies lie. Research Methods — This study applied Principal Component Analysis (PCA) to nine fiscal variables from 2020 to 2024 across 34 provinces, reducing them to two principal components that together explained more than 91% of the total variance. These components were then analyzed using panel data regression, with the Between OLS model identified as the best fit. The model’s reliability was further validated through a series of statistical tests. Empirical Results — The results indicate that the first principal component (PC1) exerts a significant positive influence on GRDP, whereas the second principal component (PC2) has a negative effect. This implies that although government spending overall tends to stimulate economic growth, inefficiencies—especially within central government expenditures—can offset and weaken these benefits. Implications — The findings underscore the importance of enhancing efficiency and strengthening coordination in government spending. They suggest that policymakers should focus on improving the effectiveness of central government expenditures within the regional context and on strategically channeling SILPA into productive projects. Such measures can stimulate local economies and support the development of more effective, well-targeted fiscal policies.

Abstract

Banks in carrying out the intermediation function require additional capital. Therefore, part of the bank's ownership is sold to the public in the form of shares and debt securities. Firm value is one of the indicators for investors in assessing the performance of a company. The aims of this study are: 1) To determine the factors that influence the value of Indonesian banking companies. These factors are capital structure, efficiency and size of the bank. 2) To find out that profitability moderates the value of Indonesian banking companies. This research uses quantitative verification research. The research analysis technique with moderate variables uses the Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) model. Using secondary data from the financial statements of each bank. The financial reports are downloaded through the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) website. Processing data using the e-Views 11 application. The results of this study show that the capital structure and the size of the bank have a significant positive impact on corporate value. If a bank is inefficient, it will not have a significant impact on corporate value. Profitability as a mitigation variable cannot amplify the impact of capital structure, efficiency, or bank size on corporate value.
