Abstract

Background: The behavior of the nurses in caring is form of emotional support of nurses in providing nursing care is moral commitment to protect, promote human dignity as the core of nursing that differentiates it from other professions.Purpose of the research: to know the overview of nurses caring behavior toward patients in patient treatment ward in Klungkung regency.Method: the design of the study wasdescriptive method purposive sampling techinique and proportionale stratified random sampling. The populationof the study was 308 people and the sample was 110 people. The  data collection tool was questionnaire CBA (Caring Behaviour Assesment)which has been modified. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics and processed using SPSS 20.0 for windows.Result: The nurse caring behavior to patients in the ward showed 43,6%patients received good treatment, 52,7% patients received sufficient treatment and  3,7% patients received less treatment.Conclusion: Nurse that provided nursing care to patients should have caring behaviour in helping patients to meet their needs biologically, psychologically, sociologically and spritually Keywords: behavior, caring, inpatient, nurse

Abstract

Background. In Standard Operating Procedure, the use of hood mask on COPD patients in nebulizer therapy is used when necessary, which means that the medical staff able to wear a mask or not, it is because of lack of firmness in the Standard Operating Procedures created.Aim. To determine the relationship of the use of hoods during therapy nebulizer mask to saturation of peripheral oxygen in COPD patients in the ER Agency Tabanan General Hospital. Method. This research used non-probability sampling design, the sampling technique used in this study was consecutive sampling technique.Results. The respondents who wore hood mask on during nebulizer therapy as many as 84 respondents (98.8 percent), respondents who woremask on for 10-15 minutes by 85 respondents (100 percent), respondents who installed the rubber on mask during nebulizer therapy was 81 respondents (95.3 percent), the majority of respondents whom masks do did not come loose during nebulizer therapy as many as 76 respondents (89.4 percent). The saturation of oxygen peripheral therapy on COPD patients with nebulizer has a normal outcome as many as 82 respondents (96.5 percent).Conclusion. There was a significant relations between the use of hood mask during nebulizer therapy with the saturation of oxygen peripheral on COPD patients with the results of Pearson’s Chi-square test in Asymp.Sig value. (2-sided) of 0.00 (p = 0:00), because the value of Asymp.Sig. (2 -sided) 0:00 <0:05 (Alpha 5%).Suggestion. In a nebulizer therapy on COPD patients, medical staff should wear a hood mask during the therapy and follow-up the result of this study for the changes of standard operating procedures.Keywords:COPD, Hood Mask, Oxygen Peripheral Saturation, Nebulizer

Abstract

Background:Stroke is a brain attacks caused by blockage or rupture of brain blood vessels. Until now, stroke is unknown causes. Some risk factors may effect  in increasing of stroke incidence.Aim: This study aimed to determine the risk factors influenced incident of stroke in the Stroke Corner, Tabanan Hospital.Methods: This research was a retrospective descriptive study involved 172 patients who had been treated in Stroke corner. Data were collected by chart-reviewed. Further, data were analyzed descriptively using SPSS for windows 17.0.Results: Findings found that majority of respondents aged over 65 years (39%) with male (53.5%). The results of this study also showed that there were three of highest risk factors influenced stroke incident such as hypertension (41.2%), diabetes mellitus (15.1%), and cardiac problem (7.6%).Conclusion:  Although the cause of stroke is unknown but several factors such as hypertension, diabetes and heart problems greatly contribute to the incidence of stroke. Therefore, it is essential for health personnels to be more focused in managing risk factor for recurrent stroke prevention.

Abstract

Cataracts are cloudiness in the lens of eyes that can only be cured by surgical procedure. The high number of patients with cataract surgery does  not matched with their understanding on how the treatment and management of post operative cataract patient adherence to exercise control over. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship of patients knowledge about post operative treatment of cataract with the motivation to see the doctor as outpatient at Bali Mandara Eye Hospital in 2016.This study used a descriptive correlation design with cross sectional approach. The sampling used consecutive sampling with a total sample of 88 respondents. The data was collected by using questionnaires. The data were analysed using univariate and bivariate technique with SPSS 20.0 program.Most of the patients knowledge about post operative treatment of cataract in good categories  73.9% (65 respondents) and motivation to do outpatient consultation at Bali Mandara Eye Hospital is categorized high, which is 98.9% (87 respondents). Pearson Product Moment analysis results showed p-value <0.001 and r = 0.634, which mean there is a connection between patients knowledge about post operative treatment of cataract with the motivation to do outpatient consultation at Bali Mandara Eye Hospital in 2016.A Good knowledge on post operative treatment of cataract, is expected to motivate patients to actively visit the hospital for outpatient consultation  so that complications after cataract surgery can be prevented Keywords: knowledge, motivation, post-operative treatment of cataract
