Abstract

The purpose of this study is to; first, describe and analyze the management of online learning planning in improving the process and learning outcomes of students. Second, describe and analyze the management of online learning implementation in improving the process and learning outcomes of students. Third, describe and analyze the management of online learning evaluation in improving the process and learning outcomes of students at SMP Cordova Tegalsari Banyuwangi. The approach used in this study is a qualitative approach with a case study type. Data collection techniques used in this study include documentation, observation and interviews. The data analysis technique used in this study is interactive analysis of Miles, Huberman and Saldana, with several steps, reducing data, presenting data and drawing conclusions. While the data validity test uses source triangulation and member check. The results of the study show that; First, based on the analysis of online learning planning management in improving the process and learning outcomes of students, including electronic needs and learning alignment, so that maximum learning outcomes in each subject must be taught by teachers who are qualified and have competence in their fields and schools facilitate teachers to take online learning training; Second, the management of online learning implementation in improving the process and learning outcomes of students must be supported by adequate electronic facilities for teachers and students, teachers prepare several applications that are easily accessible to all students and teachers take training related to the implementation of online learning from schools and the government; Third, online learning evaluation management in improving the process and learning of students by sending files to WhatsApp, Telegram, or other groups then providing instructions via video call, for student attendance guided through video call calls with the help of the Google Form application and to make it easier for students evaluation materials are uploaded on Google sites or YouTube.

Abstract

This study describes the moral development program at SMP Islam Nurul Ulum, the approaches and steps used by Islamic Religious Education teachers, and the supporting and inhibiting factors in fostering students' morals. The method used is qualitative with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis uses the Miles and Huberman model, including data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The study results indicate that SMP Islam Nurul Ulum has a moral development program that includes relationships with Allah, fellow human beings, the environment, and oneself. The teacher's approach is carried out directly, such as providing personal guidance and advice, and indirectly through prevention and punishment. Supporting factors for moral development include student awareness, teacher role models, learning methods, and parental support and facilities. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include lack of Islamic Religious Education lessons, use of mobile phones, lack of communication, and the environment and background of students that do not support.

Abstract

Mental health issues can pose a hindrance to the growth and development of students in the educational process and their pursuit of a future. Support from family, educational institutions, and the community is crucial. Unfortunately, currently, mental health service programs in Islamic educational institutions are not consistent, and there is no systematic management of mental health education based on Islamic principles, resulting in suboptimal early detection of mental health disorders. However, Islam places significant emphasis on human mental health. This article aims to explain the principles of managing mental health education based on Islamic teachings. The research method used is qualitative with a literature review approach. The principles of managing mental health in educational institutions involve both promotive and preventive aspects and engage various stakeholders, including guidance counselors, parents, medical professionals, psychologists, and psychiatrists. These principles encompass efforts to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health issues, implement sustainable programs, assist staff, students, and teachers in early detection of mental health disorders, foster two-way communication, provide mental health services, and enhance well-being. Additionally, Islamic teachings pay special attention to human mental health by promoting the purification of the soul with sincerity, a moderate approach, setting an example, maintaining obedience, avoiding sinful acts, and drawing closer to Allah.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of mothers from an Islamic perspective in preventing stunting among early childhood in Banyuwangi Regency. Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem that remains a serious challenge in Indonesia, including in Banyuwangi, with the national stunting prevalence reaching approximately 21.5%. In the Islamic context, mothers hold a central position as madrasah al-ūlā (the first school) for their children, being responsible not only for education and moral development but also for ensuring adequate nutrition and child health. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, conducted in several districts in Banyuwangi Regency by involving mothers with young children, religious leaders, and health workers. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, then analyzed thematically. The findings indicate that the role of mothers in preventing stunting is strongly influenced by religious understanding, health education, and social environmental support. Islamic values such as the recommendation to breastfeed, maintaining cleanliness, the consumption of halalan ṭayyiban food, and spiritual awareness are proven to contribute to shaping healthy family lifestyles. Thus, it can be concluded that the Islamic perspective provides a strong normative and moral foundation in efforts to prevent stunting. Strengthening the role of mothers through religious guidance, family education, and cross-sector collaboration based on Islamic values is a strategic step toward building a healthy, intelligent, and morally upright generation in Banyuwangi Regency.

Abstract

Character education is an effort to instill virtuous values aimed at shaping a generation with strong morals in accordance with societal norms. This study aims to examine the impact of the Kaleng Impian (Dream Can) program in instilling character education, as well as to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation among students at MI NU Hidayatun Najah Tuban. This research is a qualitative descriptive study using a case study approach. The research subjects consisted of teachers and students at MI NU Hidayatun Najah Tuban, with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The study refers to Thomas Lickona’s three components of character education: Moral Knowing, one’s ability to evaluate oneself; Moral Feeling, the drive to do good and the ability to control oneself; and Moral Action, the implementation of moral knowledge and feelings through actions aligned with established norms. Thus, the researcher seeks to explore how the Kaleng Impian program is implemented from the perspective of character education through the lenses of moral knowing, moral feeling, and moral action. The findings reveal that the Kaleng Impian program at MI NU Hidayatun Najah successfully cultivates character values such as responsibility, tolerance, and religiosity based on moral knowing, feeling, and action, thereby contributing to the formation of students' character. However, several inhibiting factors were identified, including limited teacher understanding, low parental involvement, diverse levels of student comprehension, and the absence of a standardized evaluation system

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of School-Based Management (SBM) and its contribution to improving educational quality at SMK Puspa Bangsa Cluring Banyuwangi. School-Based Management is viewed as a strategic approach that grants schools autonomy to manage educational resources independently in a participatory, transparent, and accountable manner. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis involving the principal, teachers, educational staff, and the school committee. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with data validity ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings indicate that the implementation of SBM at SMK Puspa Bangsa Cluring Banyuwangi has been carried out fairly well and has made a positive contribution to improving educational quality, particularly in terms of school governance, the quality of educational services, and the relevance of learning programs to students’ needs and the world of work. The application of the principles of participation, transparency, and accountability has increased public trust in the school. However, several challenges remain, including uneven understanding of the SBM concept among school members and limited supporting resources. Therefore, strengthening human resource capacity and the leadership of the school principal is necessary to optimize the sustainable implementation of SBM.ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis implementasi Manajemen Berbasis Sekolah (MBS) serta kontribusinya terhadap peningkatan mutu pendidikan di SMK Puspa Bangsa Cluring Banyuwangi. Manajemen Berbasis Sekolah dipandang sebagai pendekatan strategis yang memberikan otonomi kepada sekolah dalam mengelola sumber daya pendidikan secara mandiri, partisipatif, transparan, dan akuntabel. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi yang melibatkan kepala sekolah, guru, tenaga kependidikan, serta komite sekolah. Analisis data dilakukan melalui tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan, dengan uji keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi sumber dan teknik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi MBS di SMK Puspa Bangsa Cluring Banyuwangi telah berjalan cukup baik dan memberikan kontribusi positif terhadap peningkatan mutu pendidikan, khususnya dalam aspek tata kelola sekolah, kualitas layanan pendidikan, dan relevansi program pembelajaran dengan kebutuhan peserta didik serta dunia kerja. Penerapan prinsip partisipasi, transparansi, dan akuntabilitas mampu meningkatkan kepercayaan masyarakat terhadap sekolah. Namun demikian, masih ditemukan beberapa kendala, seperti belum meratanya pemahaman warga sekolah terhadap konsep MBS dan keterbatasan sumber daya pendukung. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan penguatan kapasitas sumber daya manusia dan kepemimpinan kepala sekolah guna mengoptimalkan implementasi MBS secara berkelanjutan.

Abstract

The rapid development of information and communication technology has brought significant changes to learning patterns, social interactions, and the moral development of students, particularly in Vocational High Schools (SMK), where adolescents are highly vulnerable to the influence of digital culture. This study aims to conduct an in-depth analysis of the strategies employed by Islamic Education (PAI) teachers in shaping students’ character at SMK NU Darussalam Rejoagung Srono, as well as to examine the challenges that arise amid the rapid flow of digitalization, which presents both opportunities and obstacles. Using a qualitative research method with a descriptive case study approach, this research describes the phenomenon naturally based on the experiences of teachers and students as primary subjects. The findings indicate that character-building strategies are implemented through exemplary behavior (uswah hasanah), the integration of moral values in learning activities, the positive utilization of digital media, routine worship practices, and individualized spiritual guidance that helps students understand Islamic values in a contextual and digitally relevant manner. However, PAI teachers face various challenges such as limited digital literacy, inadequate technological facilities, weak parental supervision, and the strong penetration of negative digital content that often contradicts Islamic moral values. This study concludes that the effectiveness of character formation greatly depends on the consistency of teacher strategies, institutional support, and synergy between school and family so that character education can adapt to digital-era developments and foster a generation that is virtuous, religious, and wise in utilizing technology.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought significant changes to the implementation of political education, particularly through the utilization of digital content as a learning medium. This study aims to analyze the use of digital content in political education and its impact on enhancing democratic literacy. The research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method and is conducted in Banyuwangi Regency. Data collection techniques include in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, while data analysis is carried out inductively through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that digital content in political education is utilized through various digital platforms, such as social media, educational videos, and online information portals, which are able to present political materials in a contextual, up-to-date, and easily accessible manner. This utilization contributes positively to the enhancement of democratic literacy, as reflected in increased understanding of citizens’ rights and obligations, greater awareness of political participation, and improved critical thinking skills in filtering political information and avoiding hoaxes. The integration of digital citizenship based political education has proven effective in shaping citizens who are critical, ethical, and responsible in democratic life.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the effectiveness of Ruangguru's Clash of Champions (COC) game as an interactive learning tool, focusing on "fastest addition" to increase elementary school students' interest in mathematics. The basis of this study is the low interest and active participation of elementary school students in mathematics, especially in simple topics such as addition, which are often considered boring and uninspiring. By incorporating competitive game elements, time challenges, and immediate responses through COC, it is expected that students will be more enthusiastic, active, and interested in practicing addition at a faster pace. This study applies a descriptive qualitative method to explain in detail the phenomenon of utilizing educational media in the form of the game clash of champions (COC) to increase interest in learning mathematics in 3rd grade elementary school students. The results show that the time-based competition and leaderboard elements in COC are the main triggers for increased learning interest. The impact of this study indicates that competitive game media such as COC can be used as an alternative learning strategy for basic mathematics in elementary school, to increase student motivation and engagement.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze in depth how Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning can serve as an effective medium for strengthening the religious character of students. The religious character in this context includes values such as honesty, discipline, responsibility, tolerance, and social care, all of which are derived from Islamic teachings. The research employed a qualitative method with a case study approach conducted at a junior high school with an outstanding Islamic Religious Education program. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews with PAI teachers, students, and the school principal, as well as document analysis. The results indicate that PAI learning, which integrates both intracurricular and extracurricular activities and is supported by a conducive school environment, effectively fosters and develops the students’ religious character in a significant manner.
