Abstract

Consumer behavior that has a lot of consumptive tendencies makes this pattern incompatible with consumption in the Islamic economics. Society has the ideology of consuming excessively, unknowingly, and sustainably. Purchases of goods are only based on desires and do not consider needs, so it is necessary to enforce consumption patterns so that they do not fall into the excessive category. The research methodology used is a literature study method by conducting an in-depth reading analysis of various references related to consumer behavior, especially examining various existing literature works. Researchers reviewed several books written by Al Ghazali and several related figures to obtain additional analysis in this research. The results of this research indicate that the consumption theory according to Al Ghazali is not only oriented to satisfaction. Consumption in Islam is more to make people more obedient in worship. Humans are not required to meet their needs sporadically but must comply with sharia principles. Other important things by paying attention to halal, good and mashlahah for the goods they consume.  Keywords: Consumer behavior, Islamic Economics, Society, Al-Ghazali

Abstract

This study aims to explain the economy from an Islamic perspective: and its role in increasing human resources and the economic development of Islam. This study uses a library research method with a descriptive-analytic qualitative approach, namely explaining and describing the object of research and then analyzing it from the perspective of the Islamic economic system. The results of this study indicate that, First, Islam views the economy as implemented with an attitude towards property ownership, absolute ownership of everything on earth belongs to Allah SWT. Human ownership is only relative, limited to carrying out the mandate of managing and utilizing according to His provisions. The status of assets in Islam is a mandate or deposit (as a truth) from Allah SWT to humans who have the capacity to be His creatures. Meanwhile, from the point of view of monotheism, humans as economic subjects are only limited to trustees. Second, the concept of Islamic economic development demands and makes humans to awaken human nature, namely the birth of a balance between happiness in the world and in the hereafter. This role has implications for the concern for development in Islam itself which emphasizes both physical and metaphysical elements. In addition to physical indicators, Islamic development also pays close attention to moral and spiritual aspects that are not shared by conventional development focus. The concepts of tawhid, khilafah, and 'are inseparable from the foundations of economic development in Islam.

Education is one of the Indonesian nation's development sectors to advance society in forming intellectual human resources. It is very important to pay attention to contributions in the field of education, one of which is the use of zakat funds as a solution for children who are less fortunate in terms of education. Even so, it turns out that there are still many people who have not been touched by educational assistance through zakat. This research was conducted in 4 different places, namely at the BAZNAS Sleman Office, SD Negeri Perumnas 3, MTs N 4, and MAN 5 Sleman. The research method used is a qualitative method with a normative juridical and sociological approach. The results of this research are the distribution of zakat funds at BAZNAS Sleman with 5 work programs. The 5 work programs consist of: Productive Sleman, Healthy Sleman, Smart Sleman, Careful Sleman and Taqwa Sleman. Apart from that, BAZNAS Sleman also coordinates with Islamic organizations such as Nahdatul Ulama and Muhammadiyah so that there is no overlap with each other. In particular, the Sleman Pintar program is implemented in coordination with the Education Department and also the Social Service so that it is right on target and helps education to create a superior generation in the future.

As a result, all sectoral indexes experienced a decline in their financial performance, especially the agricultural sector in the Indonesian Sharia Stock Index. This study used quantitative research. The population was obtained from 17 agricultural sector industrial companies registered with ISSI with a sample of 12 companies. The result of this study is that there are differences in score results in each bankruptcy prediction analysis method for 3 periods. The Altman Z-Score method in 2019 predicts 8 companies will be declared bankrupt and 4 companies are declared in good health. In 2020, the Altman Z-Score method predicts that 7 companies will be declared bankrupt and 5 companies will be declared in good health. In 2021, the Altman Z-Score method predicts that 7 companies will be declared bankrupt and 5 companies will be declared in good health. Grover's method in 2019 predicts that 3 companies will be declared bankrupt and 9 companies will be declared in good health. In 2020, Grover's method predicts that 3 companies will be declared bankrupt and 9 companies will be declared in good health. In 2021, Grover's method predicts that no company will be declared bankrupt and 12 companies will be declared in good health. It can be concluded that the Altman Z-Score method is considered optimal in this study to predict bankruptcy rates, assuming aspects of the Altman Z-Score method that highlight the company's profitability so as to affect the deeper accuracy of the company's financial performance.

Abstract

Introduction/Main Objectives: In financial statements, there is some data information needed to assess a company's financial performance. The study aimed to analyze the influence of financial performance assessments using EVA and MVA on abnormal returns of shares in tourism sub-sector companies listed in Indonesia Sharia Stock Index (ISSI) during the period 2018-2020. Background Problems: Although many previous studies have measured financial performance using the EVA and MVA methods, there is still limited use of EVA and MVA methods in tourism sector companies particularly listed in Islamic stock exchange. Novelty: The concept of economic value added (EVA) and market value added (MVA) become an alternative to performance measurement. Research Methods: This research is descriptive quantitative research with secondary data used as data collection technique. Dependent variable is abnormal stock return while independent variables used were EVA and MVA. Data was retrieved from Indonesian stock exchange web and 17 tourism sub-sector companies registered with ISSI during the period 2018-2020. Panel data regression with E-views tool employed as analysis technique. Finding/ Results: The study found that the coefficient sign for the EVA is positive and insignificant, while MVA is significant in affecting abnormal stock return. This indicates increasing in MVA will be causing increasing in abnormal return stock. Simultaneously, EVA & MVA have influence on abnormal stock return of the studied companies in Indonesia. The study suggests that investors can might consider MVA as an important factor in decision before purchasing their potential stock, also consider the importance of MVA impact on abnormal return as the basis of government’s related policy determinant.

Abstract

Purpose: Good zakat management has always been a challenge for zakat institutions. For this reason, the main reference that is often used is to imitate the management of zakat that has been done by Umar bin Abdul Aziz. This study aims to determine the role of public financial management through the zakat instrument applied during the reign of Umar bin Abdul Aziz. Islamic public financial management, especially zakat, aims to achieve the goal of community life, namely prosperity and welfare. Methodology/approach: This research method is a literature-based qualitative research to explore the role of zakat management as Islamic public policy during the time of Umar bin Abdul Aziz. This research takes various references related to the role of Islamic public policy in a structured manner ranging from primary and secondary books and journals that discuss this matter. Results/findings: The conclusion of this research shows that the key to success during the reign of Umar bin Abdul Aziz was the fair and targeted management of zakat. The success carried out by Umar bin Abdul Aziz was by conducting several programs, including integrating the management of zakat by the state, being selective in choosing amil, expanding the object of zakat, and distributing the distribution of zakat funds on target. By doing this, Umar bin Abdul Aziz was able to provide a general picture of being able to manage Islamic public finances so that all levels of society benefited. Conclusion: Zakat is one of the pillars of Islam that must be practiced. Zakat also plays a role in eliminating the gap between the poor and the rich. In addition, zakat also plays a role in reducing the poverty rate in a country. Limitations: In this study, researchers focus on the strategy and management of zakat during the reign of Umar bin Abdul Aziz in managing Islamic public finance to create justice for the entire community. Contribution: This research has a contribution to explain how the management of zakat instruments should be fair and right on target. The potential of zakat is very high but the achievement of zakat fund collection has not been able to be absorbed properly so that the distribution of zakat has not been evenly distributed.
