The Surabaya City Department, with its Community-Based Total Sanitation program, hereinafter referred to as STBM, promotes hygienic and sanitation behavior that is used as a reference in the implementation of STBM. STBM data collection is carried out using the method applied in the Healthy Homes and Community-Based Total Sanitation data collection survey using a mixed approach, namely a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods. The qualitative method is carried out through in-depth interviews and group discussions to understand community perceptions and habits regarding sanitation, while the quantitative method is applied by distributing questionnaires and conducting direct observations to collect numerical data on sanitation and health conditions in each home, so that the data results are more accurate.
