Abstract

The low level of active engagement and meaningful learning among Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) students highlights the need for a deeper and more contextualized learning approach. This study aims to examine the application of deep learning in MI education through three core approaches: meaningful learning, mindful learning, and joyful learning. The method employed is a literature review of 18 relevant national and international scholarly articles, analyzed thematically to explore implementation patterns, instructional strategies, and their impact on student learning outcomes. The findings reveal that the integration of these three approaches enhances student engagement, strengthens connections between subject matter and real-life contexts, and fosters reflective and enjoyable learning awareness. It is concluded that deep learning contributes positively to creating active, contextual, and meaningful learning in MI settings. The implication is that MI teachers need to design learning activities that promote deep understanding, self-awareness, and a joyful, collaborative learning environment.

Abstract

Global transformation has changed the leadership paradigm, from a hierarchical approach to a more inclusive and adaptive collaborative model. This research aims to explore the concepts, principles, and implementation of collaborative leadership in supporting sustainable development, highlighting the challenges and opportunities in Indonesia. The research method uses a literature study approach that analyzes various academic sources and related case studies. The results show that collaborative leadership, which focuses on cross-sector synergy, is able to increase the effectiveness of solutions to multidimensional challenges. The case study of the Gandeng Gendong Program in Yogyakarta shows the success of this approach in improving community welfare, although it still faces obstacles such as lack of socialization and coordination. In conclusion, collaborative leadership is an important strategy for creating inclusive and sustainable communities, with recommendations on improving communication, trust and conflict management as priorities.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effect of jigsaw cooperative learning model and learning motivation together on students' ability to write explanatory text. The research method used in this study is a quasi-experiment with a nonequivalent control group design (unequal pretest-posttest) pattern. The population in this study were all grade VI students in cluster 2 of Sungai Lasi kecematan consisting of 8 schools. In general, the jigsaw cooperative learning model (X1) has an effect of 13% on the ability to write explanatory text (Y) of elementary school students. However, the effect is still low as evidenced by the t-test result of -2.131. Learning motivation (X2) also has a significant effect of 56% on the ability to write explanatory text (Y) of elementary school students. The influence on motivation and ability to write explanatory text is evidenced by the results of the t test with a calculated t value of 2.561. The jigsaw cooperative learning model (X1) and learning motivation (X2) have an effect of 7.6% on the ability to write explanatory text (Y) of elementary school students. The effect of the jigsaw cooperative learning model and motivation together on the ability to write explanatory text is evidenced by the results of the f test of 3,585. The contribution of interest and motivation is 7.6%, the remaining 24% is influenced by factors outside the study. This is evidenced by the R2 value obtained in the multiple regression output of 0.076 or 7.6%.

Abstract

In today's era of globalization, English language proficiency has become a fundamental competency. Unfortunately, many students and university students still struggle to communicate fluently in English. This study aims to identify and analyze psychological factors, particularly lack of confidence, which are the main obstacles to students' and university students' English speaking skills. It also offers relevant teaching strategies to improve students' English speaking skills and confidence. The method used in this study is library research. The nature of this research is descriptive analysis, which involves the systematic interpretation of the data obtained and then providing explanations so that it can be understood by readers. The results of the study show that both the Grammar Translation Method (GTM) and the Direct Method have the potential to be effective in teaching English. The Grammar Translation Method (GTM) excels in grammar comprehension, sentence structure, reading, and translation, supporting the mastery of English as a second language. Meanwhile, the Direct Method encourages spontaneous oral communication and boosts confidence through the direct use of the target language without translation into the mother tongue. Overall confidence is crucial in encouraging students to speak and overcome their fears.

Abstract

This study evaluated how effectively the English Intensive Course book supports non‑English major students at the Islamic State University of Jember, focusing on its alignment with Cunningsworth’s eight evaluation criteria. An explanatory mixed‑methods design combined a Likert‑scale questionnaire (n = 20 students, 2 tutors) with semi‑structured interviews. Quantitative data were analyzed descriptively, while interview transcripts underwent thematic coding to triangulate and enrich survey findings. Overall mean scores ranged from 3.22 to 3.72 (4‑point scale), indicating strong agreement that the book meets program aims, offers well‑sequenced language content, and covers the four skills. Participants praised the grammar‑driven progression and integration of Islamic themes. Key weaknesses were the absence of answer keys, limited listening‑speaking tasks, and scarce multimedia support. Tutors also reported insufficient pedagogical guidance in the teacher’s manual. It provides actionable recommendations, embedding feedback mechanisms, metacognitive study‑skills training, and QR‑linked audio resources, that can inform future textbook design for intensive language programs in similar settings.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of digital sources in improving reading literacy of students of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, Ekasakti University, Padang. The development of information technology provides easy access to various digital reading sources such as e-books, online journals, online scientific articles, educational blogs, and other digital media. The research method uses a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving 30 2nd semester students as informants. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed descriptively qualitatively. The results of the study indicate that the use of digital sources has a positive impact on increasing reading interest, critical thinking skills, and active involvement of students in learning. However, challenges were also found such as lack of skills in evaluating the credibility of information and the risk of plagiarism. The role of lecturers as facilitators is very important in guiding students to use digital sources effectively and responsibly. With an adaptive learning strategy, the use of digital sources can strengthen reading literacy that is relevant to the demands of 21st century education.

Abstract

The quality of basic education is greatly influenced by teacher competence, which in its implementation requires a strategic role of school supervisors. This study aims to examine how elementary school supervisors in Banjar Regency implement strategic management in improving teacher competence. A qualitative case study approach was used with data collection techniques in the form of in-depth interviews, observations, and document studies. The results of the study indicate that supervisors carry out their roles as strategic planners, supervisors based on mentoring, and evaluators of periodic coaching programs. A dialogic and collaborative supervision approach improves teacher professionalism, especially in learning planning. The main challenges are administrative burdens and time constraints, but can be overcome through collaboration with the principal. The strategic management implemented by supervisors has a positive impact on improving teacher competence and supports the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum more effectively. These findings are relevant for the development of policies for fostering educational human resources in the regions.

Abstract

The central government initiated has issued government regulation Number 35 of 2021 concerning Fixed-Term Employment Agreements (PKWT), Outsourcing, Working Hours and Rest Periods, as well as Termination of Employment. The aim of this regulation is to provide legal certainty for workers and employers regarding employment contracts. The implementation of this regulation still faces challenges and has not been optimally carried out, especially for small and medium enterprises. This research aims to understand and analyze the implementation of the recording of PKWT (Fixed Term Employment Agreements) in the perspective of Agile Governance at the Office of Manpower of Pasuruan Regency. The research method used in this study is a qualitative method that is descriptive in nature. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of Government Regulation No. 35 of 2021 regarding Fixed-Term Employment Agreements (PKWT), Outsourcing, Working Time and Rest Time, as well as Termination of Employment has not been maximally carried out. There are still companies that have not registered PKWT. The limited number of employees in handling various obligations both during consultative guidance and in administrative processes such as PKWT registration, along with the lack of resources in the guidance of PKWT registration, are factors that hinder progress.

Abstract

The Pasuruan Regency Government created a program for Direct Electronic Population Administration Services (e-Pak Ladi Kiosk). The e-Pak Ladi Kiosk was established based on Pasuruan Regent Regulation Number 11 of 2021 concerning Population Administration and Civil Registration Services. The e-Pak Ladi Kiosk is an innovation in population administration services designed to facilitate the community in accessing various services, such as the creation of Family Cards (KK), Identity Cards (KTP), Child Identity Cards (KIA), birth certificates, and death certificates that are technology-based. However, in practice, it is still not optimal. This research aims to analyze the quality of services of the e-Pak Ladi program. The research method used in this study is qualitative and descriptive. The results of this study indicate a low understanding among the community, particularly among the elderly, regarding the digital service system, which leads to a gap in information access and service utilization. Misunderstandings about the concept of 'digital' as an all-in-one fast service also trigger disappointment when technical disruptions occur, such as slow servers or routine app updates almost every month. Socialization strategies through community forums and approaches to students have been implemented, but have not yet reached all layers of society.
