Abstract

Sinar Baru Cap Bola Dunia Coffee Powder is one of the oldest traditional coffee brands in Bandar Lampung, currently facing intense market competition. To retain existing customers while attracting new ones, an effective marketing strategy is essential. This study aims to examine the direct and indirect effects of the 7P marketing mix (product, price, place, promotion, people, process, and physical evidence) on consumer loyalty, with satisfaction acting as a mediating variable. The research employed a survey method involving 130 purposively selected respondents. The data were examined using a method called Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS), using SmartPLS 4 software. The results indicate that the 7P marketing mix has a significant and positive direct effect on consumer loyalty (path coefficient = 0.465) and also indirectly affects loyalty through satisfaction as a partial mediator (indirect effect = 0.282). These findings indicate that the direct influence on consumer loyalty is greater than the indirect influence through consumer satisfaction as a mediator. The study provides strategic implications for coffee industry practitioners in designing 7P marketing approaches that are more targeted and consumer-centered.

Abstract

Food security is a strategic issue in agricultural development. Dairy farmers in Tutur Subdistrict, Pasuruan Regency face problems of small-scale livestock ownership, which has an impact on low milk production and income. Limited capital and production facilities cause unstable income, which affects the ability to meet household food needs. Contract farming is a solution to overcome these problems. This study aims to identify the factors that influence farmers' decisions to join contract farming and analyze its impact on household food security. This study was conducted in Tutur District, Pasuruan Regency, with 96 respondents using a multistage sampling method. Data analysis used probit regression to identify participation factors and Propensity Score Matching (PSM) to estimate the impact of contract farming on household food security as measured using the Food Insecurity Experience Scale (FIES). The results showed that the number of livestock and farming experience had a significant effect on farmers' participation in contract farming. PSM analysis shows that contract farming reduces the FIES score by 1.586%. This indicates that contract farming significantly improves household food security.

Abstract

Financial feasibility analysis was conducted to evaluate the feasibility of cassava farming based on the financial performance of the business. This study aims to analyze income and financial feasibility as well as the sensitivity of changes in production factors and cassava yield in Tlogowungu District, Pati Regency. The research was carried out over four months, from April to July 2025, in Lahar Village, Tlogosari Village, Regaloh Village, Suwatu Village, and Cabak Village, Tlogowungu District, Pati Regency. The research method used was a survey method with a total sample of 70 cassava farmers, determined through simple random sampling. The research data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative analysis. Statistical data analysis was performed using Microsoft Excel and IBM SPSS statistical tests. The results of the study showed that the average cassava farm area was 2.45 ha, with productivity of 17,629 kg/ha, average production of 43,191 kg, and an average selling price of Rp1,844/kg. The total farming cost amounted to Rp33,892,956/ha/MT, while the revenue reached Rp82,381,143/ha/MT, and the income was Rp48,488,187/ha/MT. The EAT (Earnings After Tax) was Rp48,483,220/ha/MT, with a BEP (Break-Even Point) of 18,321 kg in units and Rp691/kg in currency value. The profitability ratio was 57.77%, indicating that cassava farming is profitable. The investment feasibility analysis showed a B/C ratio of 2.13, an NPV (including land investment) of -Rp265,933,808, and an NPV (excluding land investment) of Rp130,401,907, indicating that the farming enterprise is financially feasible. The IRR (Internal Rate of Return) was 293.65%, and the Payback Period (PP) was 35 months, which further confirms that cassava farming is feasible to operate. The sensitivity analysis revealed that a 10% increase in production costs, a 10% decrease in selling prices, and a combination of both cost increases and output decreases are sensitive to the financial feasibility of cassava farming.

Abstract

Mina paddy is an agricultural system that has been increasingly promoted to enhance the productivity and efficiency of rice farming. This study aims to: (1) analyze distribution technical efficiency values of mina paddy and conventional paddy farming; (2) analyze the factors influencing production inefficiency in mina paddy and conventional paddy farming; and (3) analyze the level of technical efficiency in mina paddy and conventional paddy farming. Research was conducted in Panembangan Village, Cilongok Sub-district, Banyumas Regency. This study employed a quantitative descriptive approach using stochastic frontier analysis (SFA) as the analytical tool. Results indicate that land size, number of family laborers, amount of seed used (equivalent to rice seed) and quantity of herbicide applied show a significant and positive effect on rice production, additionally the amount of urea fertilizer applied has a significant and negative effect on rice production. Factors influencing the level of technical inefficiency in both mina paddy and conventional paddy farming include the farmer’s age, farming experience, and the mina paddy technology dummy variable. Overall technical efficiency values demonstrate a significant difference between the efficiency levels of mina paddy and conventional paddy farming. This indicates that the cultivation approach adopted in each farming system contributes to differences in technical performance in utilizing production inputs.

Abstract

Growing interest in matcha among young urban consumers in Indonesia has driven the rapid growth of matcha bars offering diverse service experiences. Responding to this trend, XYZ launched its matcha bar in April 2025. However, customer reviews of XYZ’s matcha products remain relatively limited compared to competitors, indicating potential issues in the customer experience that warrant further investigation. This study aims to identify pain points and customer expectations that shape experiences before, during, and after purchasing matcha at XYZ. A descriptive qualitative approach with an intrinsic case study design was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with fifteen customers, one barista, and the general manager using the Sequential Incident Technique (SIT). The data were analyzed using Braun and Clarke’s thematic analysis supported by NVivo 15. Data trustworthiness was ensured through triangulation, member checking, peer debriefing, audit trails, and thick description. The findings reveal several key pain points, including product misperceptions, limited digital information, unclear service communication, inconsistencies in product preparation, issues with product and packaging quality, an inadequate store environment, and weak post-purchase retention efforts. Customers also expressed expectations for better digital information, clearer product explanations, improved consistency in preparation and packaging aesthetics, a more comfortable and well-defined store concept, and more attractive post-purchase incentives. These findings provide a basis for developing strategies to enhance the overall customer experience at XYZ’s matcha bar.

Abstract

Subsidized fertilizer is one of the important instruments in government policy to increase agricultural production, especially rice paddy in maintaining national food security. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between the role of farmer groups and extension workers in the distribution mechanism of subsidized fertilizer in 50 Kota Regency (Case Study: Harau District). The research method is a survey in Harau District, 50 Kota Regency. The number of respondents is 65 rice paddy farmers who are members of farmer groups. Primary data collection includes farmer characteristics, the role of extension workers and the role of farmer groups with data collection techniques through interviews, observations and questionnaires. Data analysis is descriptive quantitative with bivariate correlation analysis test (SPSS.20). The results of the study show that the distribution of subsidized fertilizer to farmers through 1) Data Collection and Verification, 2) Preparation of RDKK, and 3) Distribution Supervision. These stages are carried out in farmer groups and accompanied by agricultural extension workers. The relationship between the roles of farmer groups in subsidized fertilizer distribution shows that, in the context of subsidized fertilizer distribution, the role of field extension workers does not always reinforce each other across their dimensions. Their role as communicators, which emphasizes information delivery and policy dissemination, sometimes aligns with their role as motivators, which emphasizes coaching, encouragement, and empowering farmers to be active in the fertilizer distribution process.
