Abstract

Abstrak Kasus trauma sebagai salah satu permasalahan di dunia dengan angka kematian yang tinggi. Tingginya angka kematian pada korban, khususnya pada kasus kecelakaan, tidak terlepas dari rendahnya pertolongan pertama yang dilakukan masyarakat. Pelatihan pertolongan pertama pada kasus kecelakaan pada masyarakat menjadi solusi dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui efektivitas pembelajaran dengan mnemonic SAMBAS dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan pertolongan pertama pada kasus trauma bagi masyarakat Kota Pontianak. Desain penelitian menggunakan menggunakan pre-experimental dengan one group pretest-posttest without control group. Responden penelitian sebanyak 30 orang dipilih dengan teknik quota sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa kuesioner pengetahuan. Analisis data menggunakan uji Wilcoxon. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan mnemonic SAMBAS efektif meningkatkan pengetahuan pertolongan pertama pada kasus trauma bagi masyarakat Kota Pontianak. AbstractCases of trauma as one of the problems in the world with a high mortality rate. The high death rate for victims, especially in accident cases, is inseparable from the low level of first aid provided by the community. First aid training in cases of accidents in the community is a solution to increasing public knowledge. The research aimed to determine the effectiveness of learning with the SAMBAS mnemonic in increasing knowledge of first aid in trauma cases for the people of Pontianak City. The research design used a pre-experimental with one group pretest-posttest without a control group. 30 research respondents were selected by quota sampling technique. The instrument used a knowledge questionnaire. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon test. The results showed that learning with the SAMBAS mnemonic was effective in increasing knowledge of first aid in trauma cases for the people of Pontianak City.

Abstract

The Kampus Mengajar program is designed to contribute to the equalization of educational quality. The aim of this research is to analyze how students perceive their readiness and understanding in implementing the program. This study was conducted in two elementary schools in the Pakem District. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study method, collecting data through in-depth interviews and observations. Thematic analysis was used for data analysis. The findings indicate that students’ motivation to participate in the program is related to their experiences, incentives, and credit conversion. As for students’ readiness and understanding before participating in the program, it involves their prior teaching experiences, subject knowledge, and preparation provided by the program. Regarding readiness and understanding after completing assignments, it encompasses initial assignment experiences, teaching assistance, and interpersonal skills. This study contributes valuable insights for both the government implementing the program and universities for program evaluation purposes.

Abstract

During the Covid 19 pandemic, there were many changes in learning patterns and habits, both those carried out by lecturers and students. Most lectures were conducted online during the Covid 19 pandemic to avoid the spread of the Covid virus. After the pandemic, courses changed again, namely some offline, some online, and some blended learning. After the Covid-19 pandemic, lecturers needed to know the non-cognitive state of students in adjusting to post-covid-19 recovery conditions. This study aims to analyze the perspective of non-cognitive factors in lectures after recovering from COVID-19. The method used in this research is descriptive with a quantitative approach. The subjects in this study were 69 students from a private university in West Java. Instruments used include questionnaires and interview guidelines. The results showed that students' perceptions of non-cognitive factors after the Covid-19 pandemic had: student motivation in lectures and doing assessments increased after the Covid-19 pandemic; non-cognitive factors that were important for students included motivation, self-confidence, perseverance, tenacity, the concept of self, and anxiety.

Abstract

Scientific reasoning is one of the important skills students and graduates need today. Scientific reasoning is part of high-level thinking skills and is one of the skills required in school curriculum implementation. Even though it is an important skill, research data shows that students' scientific reasoning is still unsatisfactory. The purpose of this study is to examine how junior high school students' scientific reasoning is affected when the 5E learning cycle model and multi-representation-based E-LKPD are used to execute learning. The study was carried out during the even semester of the 2022–2023 school year at SMP Negeri 2 Panti. Students in classes IX B and IX E served as the research samples, while all IX students comprised the study's population. The study used the quasi-experimental design method in conjunction with a quantitative methodology. Examinations, observations, interviews, and documentation were used to gather research data. Research data was analyzed by applying several tests, including the N-gain test, the normality test using Shapiro-Wilk, and the independent sample t-test. The research results show that implementing the 5E learning cycle model using multi-representation-based E-LKPD positively influences and impacts the scientific reasoning of students.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the effectiveness of the inquiry learning model in improving students' cognitive learning outcomes in PAI and Budi Pekerti subjects. The research method used is a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design type one group pretest-posttest (single group pretest-final test). The population consisted of all students in class VIII, while the sample was taken from class VIII C using a non-probability sampling technique. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and test techniques in the form of multiple-choice questions. Analysis of Data used the Paired Sample t-test statistical test, SPSS version 26 software. The results showed a Z value of -4.743 with a p-value (Asymp. Sig. 2 tailed) of 0.000 which is smaller than the significance value of 0.05 with the decision H0 was rejected so that there was a notable distinction in the cognitive learning results of students in Islamic Education and Characteristics subjects between before and after the applying the inquiry-based learning model. Thus, the inquiry learning model applied in Islamic Education and Characteristics subjects effectively improves the outcomes of cognitive learning students.

Abstract

Mobile-assisted Language Learning (MALL) studies have indicated promising potentials for English language learning enhancement. However, since the implementation of MALL can be viewed as the process of transition from physical learning to e-learning, the implementation has also faced challenges in real practices. Thus, this study aims to review the opportunities and challenges that have been experienced by EFL/ESL learners in the implementation of MALL. Using descriptive qualitative method, the study was done by employing library research to collect the data. The study reviewed 30 publications in the MALL implementation area. The data were analyzed based on the reported potentials and challenges in  the MALL implementation. They were then categorized into the subthemes describe the potentials and challenges. The findings showed a variety of benefits and issues in MALL implementation.

Abstract

Students who have a growth mindset tend to be able to face academic challenges and demands. This study aims to determine the effect of a growth mindset on students' academic stress levels. This research method uses a quantitative paradigm with a correlational approach to determine the relationship between a growth mindset and students' academic stress levels. The data collection technique uses two types of scales, namely the growth mindset scale and perceived academic stress (PAS). The subjects in this study were active students of the class of 2020 and 2021 at the Faculty of Education and Psychology, Yogyakarta State University. The results of this study indicate a relationship between a growth mindset and academic stress where the higher the level of a growth mindset of students, the lower the predicted stress level. The regression test results show a coefficient of 0.066, which means that 6.6% of the factors that influence a growth mindset are academic stress, and the rest is influenced by other factors.

Abstract

Thesis is a scientific work that is a requirement for obtaining a Bachelor's degree. Thesis guidance is an important part of completing the thesis so a system is needed that can facilitate student thesis guidance at the Information Technology Education Program (P.TI), IKIP PGRI Pontianak. Management Information System of Student Thesis Guidance (SIMBISA) was developed using the ADDIE model. The instruments used were interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. The subjects in the study consisted of 2 system experts and 20 prospective system users. Test results by system experts show that SIMBISA is feasible to use and gets a very good response from potential users so that it can be implemented in the P.TI IKIP PGRI Pontianak.

Abstract

This research aimed to investigate the teacher strategies in teaching English to children with special needs in Zonakata Inclusive School, Pontianak, Indonesia. This research was designed as qualitative case-study research. This design was chosen to help the researcher gain deep information about the phenomenon discussed and to explore the case intensively based on the real-life context. The research participants were two teachers in Zonakata Inclusive School who teach English to children with special needs in grade three. To get the data, observation, interview, and document review were used. The data collected was then analysed using thematic analysis. This study showed that the teachers used co-teaching and differentiated teaching strategies with the help of visual media to teach English to children with special needs. In conclusion, the participants' combination of those strategies was proven to be implemented and encouraged to be used to teach English to children with special needs.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to examine how microteaching is implemented to enhance the fundamental teaching skills of future Social Studies teachers. This research employed a quantitative descriptive approach, utilizing observation rubrics and performance assessment as data collection methods. The study's sample was 18 students enrolled in the Social Studies Teaching program. The results revealed increased scores on essential teaching skills during the second performance. The detailed evaluation covers questioning skills at 72.5, reinforcement skills at 71.7, variation skills at 73.1, explanation skills at 75.4, opening and closing lesson skills at 75.4, discussion and small group skills at 69.5, class management and discipline skills at 73, individual teaching skills at 75.7, and lesson plan preparation skills at 78.8. In summary, prospective Social Studies teachers have effectively developed their teaching skills. However, further guidance is essential, particularly in discussion and small group management.
