Furthermore, the journal accepts research and academic discussions across a broad range of subject matter within education, including mathematics education, religious education, language pedagogy and English for Specific Purposes (ESP), natural sciences, social sciences, history, chemistry, and other related educational disciplines. The journal includes the following thematic sections: Learning: Theoretical and empirical investigations concerning learning processes and their development across diverse contexts. Issues and Trends: Analytical and interpretive essays addressing current educational, social, and philosophical issues. Abstract

Distance learning is a solution to the conditions during the Covid-19 pandemic so that the educational process remains organized and productive. The purpose of the study was to obtain the results of the evaluation of distance learning at SMP Negeri Jakarta. This study used the descriptive qualitative method. Data collection techniques consist of observation, documentation, and interviews. The data collection process includes data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and concluding. The results of the study show that the implementation of distance learning still faces technical and non-technical obstacles, such as the readiness of facilities and infrastructure, teaching materials, readiness of students and parents in providing internet networks, pedagogical and professional competencies of teachers that are relevant to knowledge and technological advances. However, overall, distance learning activities have had a significant impact on the achievement of educational goals.

Abstract

The study aimed to analyze the inculcation of student character values in schools in Palembang City. The study used a quantitative descriptive method. The data collection used observation, questionnaires, and documentation. The sample of the research was 66 samples with quota sampling technique. The study found that the lack of exemplary reinforcement and habituation decreased the understanding and reflection of students' behavioral character values. Furthermore, learning about character values was integrated through the subjects of Civics and Islamic Religious Education. While the school gave the exemplary family and community reinforcement in the form of regulations, policies, and cooperation between schools, families, and communities regularly, as well as habituation of living with character in daily life was still not optimal. It needed to be optimized again so that the character values in students were closely and maximally attached to students both from speech and action.

Abstract

This study aims to determine managerial competencies for management of Equality Education Institutions in Tangerang relevant to the current global era. Competent managers have an impact on the quality of education. This study was qualitative research with quantitative descriptive methods. Collecting data used observation, interview, documentation, and questionnaire. Analysis data had four steps were data collection, data reduction, data display and data analysis. The finding concluded that managerial competency must be increased to identify problems and institutional needs, build a quality learning climate and system, program evaluation models are not regular. There is no follow-up on the results of program supervision. In addition, managerial competence must also use technological devices with various advances useful in managing educational institutions.

Abstract

Knowledge of disaster mitigation is one of the must-have primary school teacher candidates. The research tries to identify the knowledge of prospective elementary school teachers about natural, non-natural, and social disaster mitigation. In this study, the teacher candidates referred to are primary school teacher of education department students at the University of Riau. The research method used is qualitative research. The research subjects were 69 elementary school teacher candidates. The data on disaster mitigation knowledge collected were: (a) definition of disaster mitigation; (b) type of disaster; and (c) disaster management procedures. The research instrument used was a list of interviews. Data collection using interview techniques, while data analysis using qualitative data analysis techniques. The results showed that the knowledge of prospective primary school teachers about the term disaster mitigation mainly stated that the notion of disaster mitigation is an effort to reduce or minimize the risk and impact of a disaster. The knowledge of prospective elementary school teachers about disasters has mentioned various types of natural and non-natural disasters. The knowledge of prospective school teachers in explaining disaster management procedures has provided answers about various disaster management procedures. The disaster management procedure that is most often referred to is flood disaster management. This study concludes that knowledge about disaster mitigation for prospective elementary school teachers is quite good.

Abstract

The current Covid-19 pandemic has had many effects on human life globally, including the implementation of education. This study aimed to obtain the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on learning outcomes in higher education. The research method used is a cross-sectional study. The data were taken from the test results at the end of the lecture, observations, and interviews. The research was conducted at the University of Muhammadiyah Lampung, IPDN Jatinangor Campus, and the Ahmad Dahlan Institute of Technology and Business, with 120 students participating. The data analysis technique used the percentage technique and cross-tabulation. The study results concluded that student learning outcomes decreased in the 2020-2021 academic year compared to the 2019-2020 academic year. The decline in learning outcomes includes knowledge, skills, and psychology. This finding has implications for the understanding of education personnel regarding online teaching and learning design during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

The research aims to assess flipped classrooms in Islamic religious education lessons at SMA Al-Azhar Batam. This research tries to illustrate students’ perspectives on the use of flipped classrooms in their classes. The respondents were 98 students who took Islamic religious education lessons.  This research uses the descriptive qualitative method. The data was analyzed based on responses found in the reflection sheet. The research showed that flipped classrooms enable students to control their learning, creating confusion and culture shock. Eventually, the researchers concluded with some suggestions for educators to adopt the flipped classroom technology to create better learning environments for their students and reach better learning consequences.  The teacher needs to make more precise and stricter instructions on using online materials for in-class learning.

Abstract

This research aims to understand the effect of trust and job satisfaction on organizational citizenship behavior. It was quantitative research in twenty-two senior high schools in Medan city, Sumatera Utara, Indonesia. The research used a survey method with path analysis applied in the testing hypothesis. It was conducted on 292 teachers as the respondents who were selected in a simple random way. The results of this study are: (1) There is a positive direct effect of trust on organizational citizenship behavior. (2) There is a positive direct effect of job satisfaction on organizational citizenship behavior, and (3) There is a positive direct effect of trust on job satisfaction.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the needs of an online learning system based on MOOCs at Poltekbang Palembang. This type of research is survey research which can later become the basis for further development research. The research instrument used was a needs analysis questionnaire with 21 questions given to 115 respondents who were students of the Palembang Poltekbang. In this study, data analysis used descriptive statistics. Based on the results of the data obtained, it can be concluded that currently, students need an online learning system based on MOOCs. It is based on the data obtained from all statements regarding the needs of Palembang Poltekbang students for effective online learning. Almost all of them were answered, with the most significant percentage being in the answer choices strongly agree and agree. Students need the points offered in each statement that they fill out on the needs questionnaire sheet. The Va value of 3.4339 was also obtained from the data obtained, which entered the valid category. While the reliability value obtained is 0.91, and the value is greater than r table for df = 113, which is 0.1832 because rcountrtable, then it is included in the reliable category.

Abstract

This research's purposes were: (1) exploring the perceptions of non-English teachers in teaching English at IAIN Manado; (2) assessing the ability of non-English teachers to attain IAIN Manado student qualifications. This study uses a mixed research method based on an exploratory sequence. The research was conducted using IAIN Manado Purposive sampling technique, and the researcher determined the research object by specific criteria. The study results show: (1) They loved how a non-English professor teaches English. They say that if a non-English teacher is amiable in teaching, he often motivates students to learn English. They also value non-English-based lecturers. Students also actively follow teaching and learning activities, (2) Student evaluations also were found in pre-test and post-test data when post-test ratings were increased, with 7 (41.17%) having an average value, 5 (29.42%) with good ratings, 4 (23.0%) with poor scores, and 1 (5.89%) with very good ratings. This means a significant increase in English language learning by non-English lecturers.

Abstract

This study aims to know the difficulty in learning mathematics experienced by fourth-grade students of SDN 169 Pekanbaru regarding understanding concepts. This study uses descriptive qualitative research with primary data sources from teachers and students of class IV SDN 169 Pekanbaru and secondary data sources obtained from documents and archives supporting learning in class IV to analyze student learning difficulties in mathematics in class IV SDN 169 Pekanbaru. The data collection techniques were obtained through interviews, observation and documentation techniques. To obtain the validity of objective data in qualitative research, the researcher will use source triangulation and technical triangulation. This study uses data analysis techniques Miles and Huberman, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation and data inference. The results showed students' difficulties in using concepts, difficulties in using principles, and difficulties solving verbal problems. The factors that cause students to experience learning difficulties in learning mathematics in class IV SDN 169 Pekanbaru include internal and external factors. The factors that come from within students (internal) include physical factors, psychological factors (intelligence, attention, interest, talent, motivation), and fatigue. In contrast, the factors that come from outside the student (external) include family factors, school factors (learning methods, learning tools, teaching methods), and community factors.
