Abstract

The purpose of this study is to produce an analytical-critical formulation about the history of the rise of non-formal Islamic educational institutions: the taklim assembly in Padangsidimpuan in 1901-2020. This study uses a social history approach, by classifying time, as a historical explanation method. The data sources consist of: material and verbal sources. Data obtained through interviews, observation and documentation. The research was conducted in Padangsidimpuan City in 2020, with stages: topic selection, data collection, verification, interpretation and historiography. The results of this study found that: Majelis taklim in Padangsidimpuan experienced a revival in the 1901-2020 period. In terms of quantity, in 2020 the taklim assembly in Padangsidimpuan reached 189, while in quality it was marked by the development of the taklim assembly component. The taklim method in the 1901-2020 period did not experience significant development. The majority of Ustadz use the lecture method; relying on hearing and sight. As for the urban taklim assemblies with special material studies using a combined method, namely; method of lecture, discussion, note-taking, practice and question and answer. The development of taklim material is marked by the enrichment of taklim material from monotheism, which then develops into the material of fiqh worship and muamalah as well as other social problems. The development of taklim material was then marked by the transition of material about practical practices to the study of legal sources (Tafsir and Hadith).

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to determine the comparison of students’ mathematical problem-solving abilities through STAD and PBL learning models. This research was an experimental study with a nonequivalent post-test only control group design. The population of this study were all grade IX students of SMP Negeri 1 Kolaka for the 2018/2019 academic year, which consisted of eight classes totalling 200 students. The sample selection was done by using cluster sampling technique so that two classes IXD were obtained class IXD as the class that used the STAD model and class IXA as the class that used the PBL model. Class IXD has 25 students, and IXA has 26 students. The research data was collected through documentation, observations, and a problem-solving ability test. The research data in this study were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The results showed that descriptively the mathematical problem-solving ability (MPSA) of students in the STAD and PBL learning models showed an average score of 70 (good) and 69.34 (enough). Inferentially from the prerequisite test, the data obtained were normally distributed, and the variance of the two data was homogeneous. The hypothesis was tested using an independent sample t-test. The results of hypothesis testing indicate that there was no significant difference between students' MPSA with the application of the STAD learning model and the PBL model. So it was concluded that there was no difference in students' mathematical problem-solving abilities in using the STAD learning model or the PBL model.

Abstract

This research is important to do because (1) there is a lack of an accurate non-cognitive skill assessment tool to assess non-cognitive skills in online learning; (2) it is difficult for teachers to measure students' cognitive skills during online learning due to the limited assessment tools available; and (3) only a few instruments have been developed to measure non-cognitive skills in social science learning, particularly history learning. Based on this gap, it's critical to examine the creation of non-cognitive skills evaluation instruments, particularly for use in online history classes. We collect data through surveys and questionnaires, answering questions. The study's subjects were Jambi City Senior High School teachers, a group of 15 from five different schools. Proportional Random Sampling Strategy is the sampling technique used in this study. An observation sheet and a questionnaire sheet were utilized as research instruments in this study. The questionnaire sheet consists of a questionnaire sheet to collect data on non-cognitive skills. The results of the study were examined using descriptive statistical methods. Non-cognitive skills are critical to acquire in online learning, according to the findings of the study. According to the research, 81.67% of teachers strongly believe that non-cognitive skills have an impact on student success. Non-cognitive qualities including discipline, independence, time management, teamwork, motivation, and technological skills are identified by 84.44 % of teachers as having a significant impact on the success of online learning. According to the teacher, 93.3% strongly agreed to create an assessment instrument to test this skill. The importance of non-cognitive instrument development is evident from the preceding discussion.
