Abstract

This research aims to develop a Google Sites learning media that is oriented towards inquiry learning and is used to improve science process skills in students by testing its validity, practicality, effectiveness, and influence on improving science process skills. The research method used is RD, or development. The research model applied is the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) development model. The validation results obtained from media experts show a percentage of 97.5% or are included in the very valid category. Assessment by material expert validators shows a percentage of 97.5%, which is in the very valid category. Meanwhile, the assessment by language expert validators shows a percentage of 100% or very valid. Media practicality was obtained through a questionnaire that was assessed by fourth-semester students of Primary School Teacher Education FKIP Sriwijaya University with a percentage of 89%, which could be categorized as very practical. Furthermore, to measure effectiveness, it is done by comparing the scores obtained from student observations based on 14 indicators of science process skills before using learning media with a percentage of 41% and after using Google Sites learning media oriented towards inquiry learning with a percentage of 89%, or an increase of 48%, or including them in the effective category. Based on this description, it shows that the Google Sites learning media oriented towards inquiry learning is valid, practical, and effective to use and has an influence on improving science process skills in students.

Abstract

The policy IPAS (science and social studies) is a new phenomenon in education. This study aims to determine the implementation and considerations of teachers in carrying out IPAS learning. This research involved fourth-grade teachers at an elementary school in Bandung City. The method used is a case study with a qualitative approach. The instruments used are interviews, observation, and documentation studies. Data analysis uses the Miles and Huberman technique. In conclusion, science learning is not a thematic or integrated learning process, but linked or connected because of some of the material in the book and the flow of learning objectives where science is more dominant and social studies is a support, and vice versa. These findings can be utilized as a reference and consideration in making policies and implementing science learning for other schools.

Abstract

Developing scientific literacy assessment instruments on earth change material for elementary school students is important. The development of scientific literacy-based assessment instruments is an effort to measure students' scientific literacy abilities. The research aims to develop a creative and innovative assessment instrument, namely matchup. Initial research was used to capture the needs for scientific literacy assessment instruments needed by teachers and students. The needs analysis research method uses qualitative research to collect initial data. Data collection techniques used range from observation, interviews, and documentation. The data is analyzed interactively and effectiveness tests are carried out to obtain the empirical benefits of the tool in the field. Research development on the products produced is done through expert judgment by instrument experts, media experts, and stakeholders (teachers as users). The research showed that the matchup game was very effective in carrying out science learning evaluations. Product analysis is very effectively used in assessment activities in science learning for elementary school students, especially in material regarding changes in the earth caused by humans.
