Abstract

Rosella (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) diketahui memiliki banyak senyawa aktif yang berfungsi sebagai antioksidan seperti flavonoid, polifenol, antosianin, dan vitamin C. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat krim ekstrak etanol kelopak bunga Rosella yang memenuhi syarat evaluasi fisik dan mengetahui aktivitas antioksidan krim sebelum dan sesudah penyimpanan. Ekstrak etanol kelopak bunga rosella dibuat dengan cara maserasi. Krim dibuat dengan variasi konsentrasi ekstrak rosella sebesar 0,5% (b/b), 1% (b/b), dan 1,5% (b/b). Uji aktivitas antioksidan dilakukan menggunakan metode peredaman DPPH. Analisis hasil untuk uji sifat fisik dan stabilitas bentuk sediaan menggunakan analisis data secara deskriptif dan ANOVA satu arah dengan taraf kepercayaan 95% dan uji aktivitas antioksidan krim sebelum dan sesudah penyimpanan selama 1 bulan dilakukan menggunakan uji-t berpasangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa krim dari ekstrak etanol kelopak bunga rosella memenuhi syarat sifat fisik dan stabilitas selama penyimpanan. Semua krim memiliki aktivitas antioksidan sebelum dan sesudah penyimpanan. Aktivitas antioksidan tertinggi diperoleh pada Formula 3 yang memiliki nilai persen peredaman DPPH sebelum penyimpanan sebesar 61,35% dan sesudah penyimpanan sebesar 59,43%.

Abstract

Pasien stroke sering memperoleh lebih dari dua macam obat sehingga meningkatkan kemungkinan terjadinya interaksi obat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kejadian interaksi obat pada pasien stroke rawat inap di unit stroke RSUD Banyumas berdasarkan buku Drug Interaction Facts. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif evaluatif yang bersifat retrospektif. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara total sampling. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif dan disajikan dalam bentuk data kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari 62 pasien stroke terdapat 26% pasien yang mengalami interaksi obat. Jumlah interaksi obat yang paling banyak terjadi adalah 1 jenis interaksi obat (74%). Jenis interaksi obat yang sering terjadi pada pasien stroke yaitu interaksi obat antara Angiotensin Converting Enzyme Inhibitor (ACEI) dengan KCl sebanyak 18,18%. Mekanisme interaksi obat yang paling banyak terjadi adalah unknown (36%). Tingkat signifikansi 4 paling banyak terjadi yaitu 50%, dengan onset interaksi obat adalah delayed (57%) dan tingkat keparahan moderate yaitu sebanyak 57%. Dokumentasi interaksi obat yang paling banyak terjadi adalah possible (50%).

Abstract

Kanker adalah penyebab kematian terbesar kelima di dunia dan kasus baru muncul secara signifikan. Akhir-akhir ini, produk alami yang digunakan secara luas sebagai kemopreventive untuk kanker. Penelitian sebelumnya melaporkan Curcuma zanthorrhiza Roxb., Curcuma longa L. Dan Zingiber officinale 'Sunti' memiliki aktivitas antikanker yang diuji secara in vitro dan in vivo. Saat ini, penggunaan C. Zanthorrhiza Roxb., C. Longa L.and Z. Officinale 'Sunti'is masih terbatas oleh masyarakat. Sehingga dibutuhkan suatu sediaan yang lebih praktis dalam bentuk formulasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempersiapkan tablet hisap dengan variasi bahan pengikat polivinilpirolidon (PVP), sehingga dihasilkan formula yang memenuhi syarat uji fisik tablet hisap serta dapat diterima oleh masyarakat. Ekstrak campuran disiapkan secara granulasi basah, sifat fisik dari uji yang dilakukan meliputi penampilan fisik, keseragaman bobot dan ukuran, uji kekerasan, uji kerapuhan, dan waktu larut dan dievaluasi berdasarkan persyaratan dalam Farmakope Indonesia edisi III dan edisi IV, data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis dengan uji statistik ANOVA. Data responsif uji rasa hasil oleh para responden dianalisis menggunakan Kruskal Wallis. Hasil uji statistik menunjukkan bahwa formulasi tablet hisap ekstrak dengan variasi dalam tingkat PVP 2-6% menunjukkan sifat fisik yang memenuhi syarat untuk tablet hisap.

Abstract

Daun alpukat (Persea americana Mill.) diketahui mengandung flavonoid yang memiliki aktivitas antioksidan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh tween 80 dan span 80 terhadap sifat fisik dan stabilitas sediaan krim ekstrak etanolik daun alpukat dan persen peredaman formula terbaik terhadap radikal DPPH. Formula sediaan krim dibuat dengan membandingkan konsentrasi emulgator tween 80 dan span 80 yaitu Formula 1 (75%:25%), Formula 2 (85%:15%) dan Formula 3 (95%:5%). Krim yang terbentuk diuji sifat fisik dan stabilitasnya. Formula terbaik yang memenuhi syarat uji sifat fisik dan stabilitas selama penyimpanan 28 hari diuji aktivitas antioksidannya dengan metode DPPH. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan konsentrasi tween 80 dan penurunan konsentrasi span 80 menyebabkan viskositas dan daya lekat semakin meningkat, sedangkan daya sebar semakin menurun. Formula terbaik terdapat pada Formula 3 dengan nilai viskositas sebesar 25.220-43.960 cps, daya sebar sebesar 4,90-5,50 cm, daya lekat sebesar 1,41-4,65 detik dan persen peredaman radikal DPPH sebesar 69,33%.

Abstract

Losartan merupakan obat antihipertensi poten dengan bioavailabilitas rendah dan waktu paruh eliminasi cepat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui komposisi formula optimum, karakteristik dan profil transpor in vitro patch transdermal kalium losartan. Rancangan formula berdasarkan metode simplex lattice design menggunakan software Design Expert. Evaluasi karakteristik meliputi ketebalan, bobot, moisture uptake, loss on drying, folding enduranc, dan drug content. Uji transport in vitro menggunakan sel difusi vertikal, penetapan kadar transpor losartan menggunakan instumen HPLC dan analisis data menggunakan software WinSAAM. Komposisi formula optimum patch transdermal losartan adalah 44,4% propilen glikol, 29,3% asam oleat, dan 26,3% isopropil alkohol, dengan karakteristik tebal 0,6 mm, bobot 82,2 mg, loss on drying12,8%, moisture uptake 6,4%, folding endurance 300 lipatan dan drug content 98,9%. Profil transpor in vitro losartan menghasilkan model lima kompartemen dengan kinetika orde pertama.

Abstract

The dissolution rate is an important characteristic to consider when designing a pharmaceutical dosage form, particularly for oral medications. Ibuprofen is an oral medication with a low dissolution rate. The common solution to this problem is to increase the dose to improve drug absorption and effectiveness in order to achieve therapeutic concentration. Some methods to increase dissolution rates have been explored, such as salt formation, prodrug formation, particle size reduction, crystal modification, micellar solubilization, complex formation, solid dispersion, and self-emulsifying. This review focuses on a strategy for increasing ibuprofen dissolution rate by reducing the particle size of the drug. Reduced particle size could improve ibuprofen solubility, allowing it to be absorbed more easily and achieve the desired therapeutic effect.

Abstract

Cherry leaves (Muntingia calabura L.) contain secondary metabolites such as tannins, flavonoids, and saponins. This secondary metabolite compound functions as an antibacterial, especially Staphylococcus epidermidis bacteria that cause acne, so that it can be developed into a formula. One of the dosage forms that can be developed is the ointment dosage form. The choice of base concentration is very important because it can affect the physical properties and effectiveness of the preparation. The purpose of this study was to determine the optimum composition of the ethanol extract formula of cherry leaves with variations concentration of Vaseline album and adeps lanae, physical properties and level of acceptance of the consumer formula which was declared optimal. Cherry leaves were extracted by maceration method using ethanol 96% solvent. Determination of the optimum value was carried out using the Simplex Lattice Design method available in the Design Expert software Version 11. The results showed that the optimum ointment formula had a composition of vaseline albumin and adeps lanae of 73,29% and 9,71%, with a spreadability 3,10 ± 0,12 cm, adhesion 6,10 ± 0,53 seconds, pH 4,78 ± 0,08, and the acceptability value is 4,02. So it can be concluded that the formula declared optimum has physical properties that meet the requirements and are liked by the respondents.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a disease characterized by blood glucose elevation and long-term illness that requires good self-management. Patient knowledge has important role to overcome self-management. This study aims to assess relationship between patient's knowledge level and self-management. This research used observational study with cross sectional approach. Patient knowledge level was measured by Diabetes Knowledge Questionnaire (DKQ-24) and self-management level was measured by Diabetes Self-Management Questionnaire (DSMQ). This study was held in East Purwokerto I Public Health Center and data sources were collected by accidental sampling technique. The sample used in this study was 35. The result showed that there was a correlation between patient knowledge level to self-management p = 0,000, r = 0,838 in diabetes mellitus type 2.

Abstract

ARNI (Angiotensin Receptor-Neprilysin Inhibitor) is a new therapy for heart failure patients that have been approved since 2016, which is a combination of sacubitril (Neprilisin Inhibitor) and valsartan (ARB). The aim of this study was to review the comparison of the effectiveness sacubitril/valsartan and enalapril in heart failure patients through a literature review method. Database used were Cochrane and PubMed. Keywords search based on PICO (heart failure, sacubitril/valsartan or LCZ696, enalapril, and efficacy or effectiveness). The inclusion criteria were articles in English, available in full text and free access, published in 2010-2020, and RCT. The exclusion criteria were review articles. The searching was conducted from 10 July to 23 July 2020 and 20 December 2020. From this searching, researcher obtained 160 articles, after the process of selection and eligibility, 16 articles were included in the inclusion criteria as primary articles, and 2 articles were included as secondary articles. Studies showed that sacubitril/valsartan reduces the incidence of readmission and has a better QoL score than enalapril, and also decreases the risk of death. According to primary research of PARADIGM-HF and 15 advanced analysis article, it’s known that the usage of sacubitril/valsartan is more beneficial than enalapril in heart failure patients.

Abstract

Background: Phenolic compounds in plants act as natural antioxidants, with cempedak (Artocarpus champeden) leaf extract showing promise due to its high phenolic content and potential antibacterial properties against Propionibacterium acnes. Objective: This study explores the effectiveness of cempedak leaf extract as an active ingredient in peel-off gel face masks for antibacterial purposes. Methods: Cempedak leaf extract was analyzed for phenolic content and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR). Its antibacterial activity was tested against P. acnes using agar diffusion, comparing inhibition zones with positive control. A peel-off gel face mask was formulated with cempedak leaf extract, undergoing physical and an irritation test. Results: Cempedak leaf extract contained a total phenolic content of 342.35 mg EAG/g and exhibited significant antibacterial activity. The face mask formulation with cempedak leaf extract showed promising physical properties and did not irritate, meeting the peel-off gel face mask standards. Conclusion: Cempedak leaf extract has potent antibacterial properties, making it an effective ingredient in peel-off gel face masks for treating acne. Further research could explore its commercial potential in skincare products.
