Abstract

Pancasila Education at the Vocational High School (SMK) level still encounters challenges, notably low student achievement driven by the prevalence of conventional instructional methods and a lack of active student participation. This study was conducted to evaluate the impact of implementing a peer teaching method integrated with the Wayground application as an innovative strategy to enhance learning outcomes.Employing a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest control group design, the study involved 42 eleventh-grade students from SMKN 1 Perhentian Raja, categorized into experimental and control classes. Learning outcomes were measured using a test instrument previously validated and tested for reliability to ensure data integrity. The findings indicate a significant improvement in learning outcomes within the experimental group compared to the control group. This is evidenced by t-test results, where the thitung > the ttabel at a 0.05 significance level, supported by an N-gain score in the 'moderate' category. Consequently, this study concludes that the Wayground-assisted peer teaching method effectively improves student performance in Pancasila Education and serves as a highly relevant instructional alternative for vocational high schools.

Abstract

Program Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KUKERTA) is a form of learning that integrates knowledge in the form of real work practice aimed at developing students' academic, social, and citizenship competencies. However, in practice, there are still students from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) at the University of Riau who feel that their civic disposition has not developed optimally after participating in KUKERTA. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the effect of the KUKERTA program on the civic disposition of FKIP students at the University of Riau. This study uses a quantitative approach with an associative-causal survey method. The population and sample of this study consisted of 41 FKIP students who participated in the regular KUKERTA program in 2025. Data were collected through questionnaires and documentation and then analyzed using simple linear regression, which showed that the KUKERTA program had a positive and significant effect on students' civic disposition. The coefficient of determination (R square) value of 40.7% indicates that KUKERTA contributes significantly to students' civic disposition. Thus, the KUKERTA program has proven to be effective as a learning tool to strengthen students' civic disposition and support the development of educators with good character.

Abstract

Digital transformation has brought significant changes to the world of education, including in Pancasila and Citizenship Education (PPKn) learning. Developments in information technology not only influence how teachers deliver material but also shape patterns of interaction, participation, and student civic literacy. This article aims to systematically examine the various challenges and innovations in PPKn learning in the digital era through a literature study approach. The method used is a systematic literature review of national and international journal articles published in the last ten years, obtained through Google Scholar, SINTA, and Scopus databases. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis techniques to identify key findings related to technology utilization, implementation constraints, and its impact on students' civic competence. The results of the study indicate that digital-based PPKn learning has the potential to increase participation, understanding of civic concepts, and strengthening students' democratic character. However, major challenges still include limited teacher digital competence, access to technological infrastructure, and curriculum readiness to accommodate learning innovations. This article provides practical implications for teachers, curriculum developers, and policymakers in designing PPKn learning strategies that are adaptive, inclusive, and relevant to the demands of the 21st century.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop a board game-based flipped classroom learning model to enhance civic ecology among junior high school students in Bandar Lampung City. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, consisting of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. The developed product included the Eco Quest board game, pre-class learning videos, lesson plans, student worksheets, and civic ecology assessment instruments. The product was validated by three experts (instructional design, Civic Education, and educational media) and achieved an overall Content Validity Ratio (CVR) of 0.82, indicating validity. The implementation stage applied a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest control group design involving 300 students (150 experimental; 150 control) from five public junior high schools in Bandar Lampung City. Civic ecology was measured using the validated Civic Ecology Scale (CES) (Cronbach’s alpha = 0.87), covering civic knowledge, civic attitudes, and civic actions. Results showed that the experimental group achieved a higher mean post-test score (85.98) than the control group (73.24) (t = 18.743; df = 298; p = 0.000). N-Gain analysis indicated moderate improvement in the experimental group (g = 0.623) and low improvement in the control group (g = 0.286), with consistent results across all schools (SD of gain difference = 0.579). These findings demonstrate that the board game-based flipped classroom model effectively bridges the gap between civic knowledge and civic action, fostering ecologically responsible citizens oriented toward justice and grounded in Pancasila values.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the integration of Citizenship Education in the school curriculum as a prevention strategy of intolerance of students in the post-truth era, with a case study in the Santa Maria II Catholic Middle School, Malang. The post-truth Era, which is full of hoaxes and disinformation through digital media, has the potential to form intolerant attitudes, so Citizenship Education has an important role in equipping students with the value of tolerance and critical thinking skills. This study uses a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews and participatory observation to explore the implementation of the curriculum and the role of teachers. The results showed that the integration of civic values in formal curricula and non-formal activities, such as extracurriculars and character strengthening programs, effectively shaped students ' tolerant attitudes. The implementation of independent curriculum and digital literacy also strengthens students ' resilience to disinformation. Teachers play a central role as facilitators in developing critical thinking skills. The study recommends a holistic approach involving cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects, as well as collaboration between schools, parents, and the community. In conclusion, contextual and interdisciplinary integration of civic education in the school curriculum proved effective in preventing intolerance among learners.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of religious moderation education in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) as an effort to prevent religion-based radicalism in Indonesia. The study employed a qualitative approach using a library research method. Data were collected from scholarly journals, books, previous studies, and official documents related to religious moderation, radicalism, and pesantren education. Data were analyzed using content analysis techniques to identify the values of religious moderation implemented in pesantren education. The findings indicate that pesantren play an important role in instilling the values of tawassuth (moderation), tasamuh (tolerance), i'tidal (justice), non-violence, and national commitment through learning activities, the exemplary role of kyai, and the daily culture of santri life. These values contribute to shaping inclusive, tolerant, and anti-radical attitudes among students. Therefore, pesantren have a strategic role as Islamic educational institutions in strengthening religious moderation and promoting socio-religious resilience in society.

Abstract

Early Detection of Corrupt Behavior Among Users of the KPK Reading Corner at the Klaten Regency Library. This study aims to conduct early detection of corrupt behavioral tendencies among users of the KPK Reading Corner at Klaten Regency Library. Corrupt behavior represents a deviant social action that poses serious challenges to Indonesia, with the Corrupt Behavior Index increasing by 1.8% in 2024. The research employs a descriptive quantitative approach involving 36 respondents selected through purposive sampling based on active user criteria of the KPK Reading Corner. The research instrument consists of an online-based questionnaire using a 0– 2 Likert scale measuring seven indicators of corrupt behavior, including honesty, integrity, gratification, responsibility, legal discipline, social awareness, and anti-corruption spirit. Research findings indicate that 19.4% of respondents fall into the low-risk category, 52.8% into the medium-risk category, and 27.8% into the high-risk category. Although the majority of respondents demonstrate adequate initial awareness of anti-corruption values, a significant finding reveals that a portion of respondents admitted to "always" or "occasionally" engaging in corrupt behaviors, particularly in the areas of gratification, prioritization of personal interests, and permissive attitudes toward minor violations. This study contributes to the application of early detection methods in mapping corrupt behavioral tendencies while also assessing the effectiveness of the KPK Reading Corner as an anti-corruptionliteracy space within the community.

Abstract

Freedom of expression in the digital era faces various challenges, particularly for student activists who use social media to express criticism and encourage public participation. Previous studies have examined this issue from legal or digital literacy perspectives separately, while research integrating human rights and Civic Education remains limited. This study aims to analyze the dynamics of student activists’ freedom of expression in digital spaces and its implications for Civic Education. A qualitative approach was employed through semi-structured interviews with four University of Bengkulu students involved in student organizations. Data were analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model and validated through source and theory triangulation. The findings show that student organizations and social media serve as spaces for citizenship practice, supporting advocacy, public participation, and the expression of aspirations. However, participants still face intimidation, anonymous account attacks, doxing, and concerns regarding digital regulations that may create a chilling effect. The study also finds that digital literacy and communication ethics play an important role in promoting responsible freedom of expression. It concludes that Civic Education should strengthen digital citizenship competencies through digital literacy, critical thinking, ethical awareness, and an understanding of rights and responsibilities in digital spaces.

Abstract

The quality of Indonesia's education system is greatly influenced by how well the people in education apply discipline. Without high discipline, an educational institution will fall behind other nations that enforce strict discipline. This study aims to: 1) describe the discipline of fourth grade students of SDN 13 Marga Mulya, 2) describe the interest in learning Pancasila education in fourth grade students of SDN 13 Marga Mulya, and 3) describe the relationship between discipline and interest in learning Pancasila education in fourth grade students of SDN 13 Marga Mulya. This study used a quantitative correlational research design. The population was the fourth grade students of SDN 13 Marga Mulya. The sample used was a total sampling of all fourth grade students of SDN 13 Marga Mulya, consisting of 30 students. The prerequisite test used was a normality test. The results of the normality test using SPSS showed a significance value of 0.070>0.05, indicating a normal distribution of the data. The results of the study indicate a significant correlation between discipline and students' interest in learning. The correlation coefficient was 0.41, indicating a fairly strong correlation. Discipline plays a significant role in influencing interest in learning Pancasila Education, contributing 17% of the correlation. The remaining 83% is influenced by other factors. The implications of this study suggest the need for efforts to improve students' discipline to positively impact their interest in learning.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of the flipped classroom learning model in Pancasila Education and students' learning experiences through the model in enhancing civic engagement at SMA Muhammadiyah Klaten. The main problem underlying this research is the dominance of conventional teacher-centered learning which inhibits students' active participation and civic involvement. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that the implementation of flipped classroom through the stages of planning, execution, and evaluation successfully shifted the learning paradigm toward student-centered learning. Students experienced positive changes cognitively, affectively, and socially, marked by increased learning independence, courage in expressing opinions, collaborative skills, social awareness, and digital literacy as a form of civic participation. This study concludes that flipped classroom is proven effective not only in improving content understanding but also in genuinely cultivating students' civic engagement values within the context of Pancasila Education.
