Abstract

The implementation of occupational safety and health (K3) aims to create a safe, comfortable, and healthy workplace. So that work accidents and consequences of occupational diseases can be prevented and work productivity increases, especially in controlling the risk of heat and fire exposure.The purpose of this service activity is: to increase awareness and knowledge of Tansu home industry owners and employees about the importance of work safety and healthy living behaviors. The methods carried out in health education are explanations or lectures, questions and answers and demonstrations through videos given by speakers to workers and owners of Home Industries. As a result of the activity, the participants of this activity were owners or owners of the home industry and 4 employees from the home industry with the result that there was an increase in knowledge with their ability to answer questions properly and correctly. Conclusion: There needs to be an effort to raise awareness about the importance of health in the workplace, including policies that support lifestyles

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan bersama Bank Sampah "Betandang," yang terletak di dekat Pantai Pondok Besi dan melibatkan masyarakat pesisir yang bergantung pada hasil laut. Meskipun berdekatan dengan Pasar Ikan yang menghasilkan limbah ikan setiap hari, bank sampah ini belum memanfaatkan limbah tersebut. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah untuk memberdayakan masyarakat, khususnya perempuan, dalam mengolah limbah sisik ikan. Metode yang digunakan meliputi observasi, survei lapangan, kuesioner, wawancara, penyampaian materi, pendampingan, sosialisasi, dan diskusi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa 100% anggota mitra memahami proses pengolahan limbah sisik ikan. Ke depan, dengan mengoptimalkan peran perempuan nelayan, limbah sisik ikan dapat disetorkan ke bank sampah, memberikan peluang pendapatan baru. Bank sampah kini mampu memproduksi produk kreatif dari limbah tersebut, yang dapat dipasarkan melalui berbagai media pemasaran

Abstract

SLB YPAC Makassar in South Sulawesi faces the challenge of a lack of educators, so some classes are combined, causing significant academic gaps. Deaf children at SLB YPAC Makassar also experience difficulties in learning Calistung and understanding abstract concepts. The proposed solution is the use of web-based VAKT (Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic, Tactile) multisensory methods through the Robo Edu program. The implementation of the program is carried out using the Service Learning (SL) method which involves investigation, socialization, training, implementation, monitoring, reflection, and demonstration. Results showed a significant increase in students' Calistung skills by 85.54% from pre-test to post-test, as well as an increase in teacher skills by 62% based on questionnaire results. In conclusion, the implementation of the web-based VAKT method effectively improves the Calistung learning of students with disabilities and the teaching skills of teachers. Recommendations for the sustainability of the program are the formation of teacher cadres and cooperation with the Department of Education as well as support from the local government.

Abstract

PAUD Bungong Seurune is one of the institutions for organizing and caring for early childhood children with NSPN 69807316 which is located at Mosque No. 3, Gampong Tungkob, District. Darussalam, Kab. Aceh Besar Province Aceh. The number of students at PAUD Bungong Seurune is 25 students and 10 teachers. Bungong Seurune PAUD does not yet have adequate learning media, especially learning media that uses information technology in the form of applications that can help teachers in the learning process. This service focuses on developing digital learning media by combining literacy and numeracy combined with simple English so that the learning process becomes more interesting and enjoyable. The method used in the service program includes 5 stages, namely, socialization, training, application of technology, mentoring and evaluation, and program sustainability. With the development of digital learning media for Bungong Seurune PAUD teachers, it is hoped that it will be able to increase literacy and learning media used in the learning process. The learning media that has been designed has added simple English so that the media produced will be much more interesting and useful.

Abstract

The Pancasila student profile strengthening project is a new program in the Merdeka Curriculum which is a challenge for schools. The problem for teachers in North Sulawesi is the lack of understanding of teachers in implementing the Pancasila student profile strengthening project, especially in developing modules. So that the development of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) teaching module in schools is a need for P5 facilitators in implementing P5. Another problem is the rampant bullying cases in every class. This prompted a community service by a team from Manado State University. The community service was carried out in August 2024 in the hall of SMP N 3 Tondano. This training uses lecture and demonstration methods with the aim of providing teachers with P5 development strategies and anti-bullying education for teachers, before the implementation of P5 anti-bullying. This activity begins with a pretest and ends with a posttest, the first training session is bullying material followed by module development training using the backward design strategy. This backward design begins with determining project objectives, determining assessments and continuing with the preparation of teaching materials that support the achievement of project objectives. The training results showed an increase in knowledge of 0.7 based on the N-Gain formula, which indicates an increase in knowledge in the moderate category on the topic of anti-bullying in the context of P5. This activity is expected to be a provision for teachers in implementing the P5 theme of building the soul and body, so that P5 activities can create skills in students and instill characters that are in line with Pancasila values. Making students aware of the dangers of bullying, so that schools that are safe from bullying can be created.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to enhance the entrepreneurial skills of students at SMA RK 2 Kabanjahe by providing training in the production of fabric softeners and dishwashing liquid. The project-based learning (PBL) method allowed students to be directly involved in every phase of the production process, from planning to evaluation. A total of 100 students from grades X, XI, and XII participated in this activity, with an implementation method that included planning, preparation, execution, practice, and evaluation. The results of the pre-test and post-test showed significant improvements in students' knowledge and skills. Knowledge about dishwashing liquid increased by 60%, knowledge about fabric softeners by 67%, and practical skills increased by 112%. Although the production process went well, there were issues related to time management, marketing, and product distribution. To maximize students' ability to run their businesses, additional training in business management and marketing strategies is needed. Overall, this activity successfully fostered students' initiative and practical skills.

Abstract

Semakin populernya kopi di berbagai kota, termasuk Palembang, menyebabkan peningkatan produksi limbah bubuk kopi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengoptimalkan potensi ekonomi dan lingkungan dari limbah ini melalui inovasi sabun bubuk kopi. Proses produksi yang dikembangkan melibatkan serangkaian tahap, mulai dari pengolahan ampas kopi hingga formulasi sabun. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sabun bubuk kopi yang dihasilkan memiliki kualitas yang baik, kaya akan antioksidan, dan memiliki potensi besar untuk dikembangkan sebagai produk perawatan kulit alami. Selain memberikan solusi untuk permasalahan limbah kopi, inovasi ini juga membuka peluang pengembangan usaha mikro, kecil, dan menengah (UMKM) berbasis sumber daya lokal, serta mendorong terciptanya ekonomi sirkular di sektor kopi. Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance digital literacy and digital marketing skills among small business groups in Bonto Manurung village, Maros Regency. The lack of knowledge and skills in utilizing digital technology is one of the main obstacles to improving the competitiveness and market reach of these businesses. The program was conducted through training, technology implementation, and intensive mentoring focused on using websites for digital marketing, production management, marketplace creation and use, digital literacy, basic digital marketing, business model canvas, and digital content. Evaluation was carried out using pre-test and post-test questionnaires administered to the training participants. The results indicated an increase in participants' knowledge in various aspects, with improvements ranging from 40% to 100% after several training stages. Additionally, this program heightened awareness of the importance of digital literacy and digital media in managing businesses in the modern era.

Abstract

UPT SPF SD Inpres Unggulan Toddopuli is one of the strategical schools in Makassar City due to its location which is near to various public fasilities. Therefore, this school is in great demand by the community. Being in great demand by the community becomes one of the factors for the high level of heterogeneity of family backgrounds and behavior patterns of its students. This situation often triggers friction between individuals in the form of bullying between students both among themselves and between grade levels. The lack of knowledge of students and teachers about bullying is one of the reasons this behavior still often occurs in the school environment. Many students have become perpetrators and victims but they do not realize it. Based on this fact, the team of Community Service Program finds the potential of utilizing literary work namely short story as an educational medium to campaign “Stop Bullying” to the students at UPT SPF SD Inpres Unggulan Toddopuli. The method that applied in this community service was field observation that consists of some activities. Firstly, the students were given a pre-test to find out the students’ knowledge about bullying. Then, the students were given the chance to read and to review some short stories which contain the information about bullying. Lastly, the post-test was given to the students to measure the improvement of the students’ knowledge about bullying. The descriptive analysis of the questionnaire data shows that there is an increase on the students’ knowledge about bullying after reading and reviewing the short stories. It is also found that the students are happy to get knowledge about bullying through the short stories because they provide the stories which relevant to the students’ daily lives so that they are easy to understand and fun. Furthermore, the Community Service team also socialized the information about bullying. In addition, the team also created a draft of team that consists of teachers who will be in charge for handling bullying in the school and the programs that should be conducted in an effort to educate the teachers sustainably about the dangers of bullying.

Abstract

Learning media is the main support in making learning in the classroom a success. Training through PKM activities can be a place to explore potential and provide space for teachers to hone their skills in making interesting learning videos as learning media. This PKM activity was attended by 42 Meranti Islands Mathematics MGMP teachers in the hall of SMAN 2 Tebing Tinggi Selat Panjang for 2 days, namely Friday-Saturday, 30 to 31 August 2024 using the participant's active participation devotion method. This PKM activity method is carried out in 6 stages, namely: 1) survey and outreach, 2) preparation of plans and preparation of activity materials, 3) counseling, 4) training, 5) implementation of service outcomes, and 6) evaluation. The result of this PKM activity was that teachers' skills in making learning videos with InShot were honed and had a positive impression with 86% of participants succeeding in making interesting learning videos. It can be concluded that this PKM activity was successful and is really needed by teachers to continue to be held by honing other skills which can make teachers more competent in teaching and delivering learning.
